After the Election...

No matter how the election turns out this November as to who is Prez, and whether or not Bernie ran as 3rd party, Hillary will not be denied the presidency this time around, IMNSHO.
We not only need to continue what we've started with Bernie this election year, but we also need to make sure we continue to have Bernie's back. I have no doubt Hill will have her knives out for Bernie after Inauguration, if not right after being declared the nominee at convention. She can ruin him as far as his career and legacy goes, and she'll have no compunction against it, I'm afraid. In fact, this is one the "First Gentleman" will no doubt want to see to himself.
We need to make sure, as far as possible, that Bernie's voice is not silenced!

I applaud the sentiment, but not to worry
Neither Clinton can do any real harm to Sanders or his reputation or legacy, let alone ruin him. At 74, he has no fear of jeopardizing his career by crossing the powerful Clintons (and likely never did). He votes his conscience, not party dictates. His affiliation as a D is more valuable to the party than to him if he remains a senator. He's not planning on a post-Senate lap around the lucrative speech circuit, nor would he command the big bucks if he were. He's as immune to notorious Clinton vengeance as he is to smears based on anything concrete that's important. Unlike either Clinton. No need to trouble yourself about protecting Bernie Sanders, shrewd street fighter from Brooklyn.
But yes, we should be thinking about keeping his message going and acting as amplifiers, at a minimum. Clinton and the party have made it clear they'll do no more than pay lip service to the left--if they even bother with that this time.

If Bern somehow loses his Senate position, my bet is he will
have more time and energy available to lead the progressive movement, the last thing Hill would want. So she'll probably leave him alone.
