You can call me a bundle of contradictions and extremes. I'm a long lost hippy from the days of flower-children. I'm also a Vietnam era Air Force veteran - my "flight" was one of the very first all-female flights to go thru Basic training. I worked as a liaison assistant for the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, specifically in the Defense Language Institute. That was very interesting, especially as I was newly divorced at the time! I'm a mother and a grandmother, and I still love my motorcycles. Unfortunately, I still have a 1200cc soul locked inside a 250cc body. (sigh) After finding out I couldn't support myself and my daughter with a degree in Psychology, I started learning computers on my own. Worked with punch cards, then moved to IBM Sys36 PC Support. I was a line tech repairing and building PCs, as well as building boxes for radio stations and tweaking audio for the truest sound. Built my own BBS system which was networked to FidoNet and several other separate global message networks. Was sysadmin for several private companies, as well as government. Ran a dual network system (MS and Novell) for a consortium of 13 libraries and later for a a credit union and their branches. Today I'm in Army education, working with Blackboard and distance learning, specifically. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to retire from here in a decade or so, and then start living my dream -- operating a critter rescue and rehab center. I've lost track of the number I've rescued, socialized, and placed just living here in the city! I'm also a Pagan of nearly 35 years on this Path. I've taught workshops and classes on the Tarot, Numerology, Astrology, and the Craft. Since coming out of the "broom closet," I've seen more of our Federal and State laws adhere to or be Bible-based. So I feel doubly disenfranchised by the mandates of the recent administrations.
