Is a series of vignettes worth pursuing? A place to chat and share whatever; where politics are not forbidden--hardly a conversation of the history of ideas or what you had for breakfast can ignore politics--but a thread, an open evening one without having to be daily and can be produced by all easily may be rewarding and fun.
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Live television was so good as well as the early sitcoms on TV because the actors, producers and writers were from Vaudeville, trained on the stage, especially in comedy; oh, the timing and the simplicity of movements those entertainers enjoyed.
Passed away, about 10 years ago, my dear friend, Ned, comes to mind. He did live TV and on stage he had the gift of Spencer Tracy; for real baby, we could not see the technique working. He spoke the truth on the boards and his Willy Loman still lives in the recesses of my memories.
a simple place to cast out a thought or two or an expression of a c99 member's feelings or whatever that may strike up a conversation--in the moment comes to mind.
I'll play with this if it's okay with you folks in hopes that Vignettes may grow and add to our online experience.
