New Roolz for Philly

“The experience of the Nevada Convention demands that action be taken,” said Ray Buckley, the New Hampshire party chairman, who also serves as president of the Association of State Democratic Party Chairs.

He said every state party was “stunned and saddened” by what happened in Nevada, but that state was not alone in seeing “bad behavior” at party events.

Buckley called on the Sanders campaign, along with the Clinton’s campaign and the DNC, to agree to eight new guidelines to ensure peace at upcoming state conventions.

The guidelines called for cost sharing for extra security... He also called on all parties to agree that conventions should proceed “without interruption or interference of any manner,” including “auditory or visual distractions."

It would be helpful if someone else well known in the movement would do it if he remains unwilling.

But if the disgusting corruption of the DNC and the media shows itself, then Bernie has no reason not to hook up with the Green Party, unless he's thinking about his remaining Senate term. But that won't matter because Bernie will be President along with Vice-President Stein and we'll be working on getting a new Senate anyway.

Cue the song by a group called, very appropriately, Left Banke.

And when I see the sign that points one way
The lot we used to pass by every day

Just walk away, Renee Bernié
You won't see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
You're not to blame

From deep inside the tears that I'm forced to cry
From deep inside the pain that I chose to hide

Just walk away, Renee Bernié
You won't see me follow you back home
Now, as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me, it cries . . .

Are the party loyalists all a bunch of shits who deserve whatever they might get as defenders of antidemocratic efforts, or are they just unprofessional brainless hacks flowing the orders of powerful masters? Regardless, threats to them are the work of morons. But let's not be fooled with efforts to protect the sanctity of a coronation.

On Ralston spreading lies about what happened in Nevada. The article states that Rachel showed a clip of the chairs being thrown, but it was from a wrestling match not the Nevada convention.
I just looked on her msnbc site for the video. I found it but it won't play.
Hmmm, why not Rachel? I lost all respect for her after Obama was elected and started doing the same things that Bush did regarding the wars in the Middle East especially his use of the drones. She was amazingly silent about that.
Has any other website written anything about Ralston making that shit up?
It's very obvious to me that the Nevada debacle was a setup for Philadelphia's new rules.
I would like to see a few things happen.
1- Bernie boycotts it because the whole damned election has been rigged
in Hillary's favor.
2- Bernie's supporters boycott it for the same reason.
3- Bernie speaks out about how it's been rigged and refuses to either
concede the election or tells them that he won't campaign for Hillary.

All of the "violence" propaganda will not make Bernie supporters more inclined to support the Democrat Party. It will push them ever more into Jill Stein or Trump territory. Debbie Wasserman Shultz's performance on CNN was horrid, to say the least and Barbara Boxer's "Can I haz violence now?" by taunting Bernie supporters was laughable at face value... If we walk away, we'll lose all the support we've gained up until now. The PTB may not appreciate our activism, but there's a shitload of people who agree with Bernie's solutions for so many of the ills that exist in this country. The selfish bastards, including Hillary Clinton and all the superdelegates who support her, don't want us to have nice things, like food and shelter. For some reason, our asking for a bit of equality somehow diminishes their power.

So, no, now is not the time to walk away. Now is the time to push harder and louder and in larger numbers. The longer this goes on, the further Hillary falls. Her failure, and I really don't see her winning the GE, may be the beginning of the end (if not the end of the end) of the DLC bullshit. I WANT MY DEMOCRATIC PARTY BACK!!!

And neither are we.
What they're good for is visibility. They're trying to poison that apple by spreading the idea that we're violent. They're also spreading the idea that we're violent to justify violence against us. However, our message is working better than theirs so far, even with the advantage they have in the MSM.
We are going to go to every state and rally people and grow the movement, while exposing the corruption, violence, and general bile of the party. After that, we should leave the party, I think, unless creating a left-wing tea party works better--but if we do that we are likely to alienate lots of allies who despise the Democratic party, as well as some who may not be on the left.
The important thing here is to build a persistent movement against corruption.

The more immediate question is: should we leave before the convention, or go to the convention and leave afterwards? Bernie's plan appears to be to go to the convention. I'm unsure.

Philly is a trap, obviously, but I'm not sure it's a trap we can avoid simply by not going. By not going, we could lapse back into invisibility. Also, they wouldn't be threatening violence (and to those with ears that hear, they clearly are) if they weren't protecting something.

I think probably it's better to go to Philly, but with widespread training of people to defuse provocateur violence. I have some ideas about that--goofy, but they just might work.

I will never vote for that woman. Ever. I will contribute to a fund for her orange jumpsuit and handcuffs. I plan to vote for Bernie or write in Bernie. But if I cannot vote for Bernie, do I vote for Trump? I cannot imagine it. I have not imagined it. But if she goes to Philly and engages in even more criminal behavior, and I believe she will, I will imagine it. I might do it. She deserves a Trump vote from a Democrat of four plus decades.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

"On the first day, the Roosevelt forces lost a test vote on the temporary chairman. Taft's man, Elihu Root, prevailed. Roosevelt's supporters tried to have 72 of their delegates substituted for Taft partisans on the list of those officially allowed to take part in the convention. When that initiative failed, Roosevelt knew that he could not win, and had earlier rejected the idea of a compromise third candidate. "I'll name the compromise candidate. He'll be me. I'll name the compromise platform. It will be our platform." With that, he bolted from the party and instructed his delegates not to take part in the voting; Taft easily won on the first ballot. Roosevelt, meanwhile, said he was going "to nominate for the presidency a Progressive on a Progressive platform."

And:
"Back in the 1950s and 1960s, King was repeatedly derided by his opponents for inciting violence. The FBI even investigated him, fearing his potential impact on US society. The White House, meanwhile, seriously feared that the March on Washington would lead to riots and violence — something that seems completely absurd today."

I just put this in another thread, but it is important.

The Nevada convention suffered from a lack of documentation. What there was was clearly on our side, but it was too little and too easily manipulated. Everyone, everywhere in Philly must be ready to film and upload at a moment's notice. Don't freeze, don't wonder if someone else is doing it, just do it. We are not going to run out of digital storage any time soon.

Philly has granted permits for Sanders
supporters to gather in at least four
different sites, the largest being FDR
Park
a few blocks away from the Wells
Fargo Convention Center
where the
Dem Party will doing its thing.

The four-day rally at FDR Park is
tentatively expected to have some
30,000 participants, although organizers
and the city both expect a much larger
turnout.

The other three venues are much farther
away from the convention site and
are expected to have 2-3,000 participants
each.

No cites for this info, just what I've read
online, mostly at billmon's Twitter account.
