A day or two ago Caitlin Johnstone wrote a great piece about how this time the war will be entirely different than the previous wars. Joe Shikspack highlighted the piece in his Evening Blues yesterday. I’d read Caitlin’s piece a bit earlier via an email from Caitlin and agreed with everything she wrote. Everything.
The propaganda and lie telling to get ‘us’ to support a stupid idiotic war is so blatant. So repetitive. I’ve heard it all my life. Surely TPTB could improve on this a bit?

Lee Camp also posted an article much like Caitlin’s. I was surprised, in reading the comments, to find people who just didn’t understand the irony and sarcasm in Lee’s sardonic writing. I did, from about the third line/paragraph!

While I do not normally have a "be a fly" ideation, I do have a desire to be a fly on the wall in the room today during Hillary's deposition.
Well, I intend to finish off my work week today. My pre-retirement decision to close the office on Fridays is great. Crunching all the interviews and production into 4 days makes them 4 busy days that fly by. Having just noticed the time, I had better finish my coffee and get going.

Yea, that would be interesting. As for finishing the work week on Thursday. I completely agree. Yes, that means you have to pack a lot into the 4 days of the week, but still, 3 days of 'vacation'! Although it is not a job, per se, I'm doing the same with the horrible family stuff my mother has pushed on me. I will search for a home for my sister (and my mother) for the first 3 days of the week, and then, come Thursday, it's OVER. I just started doing this a few weeks ago and it is so good; the relief and comfort of being able to do just things for me and my husband is great!

I never saw an attack on Iran.
The US attacks weak, helpless nations.
There's not one thing to gain from attacking Iran, and plenty to lose.
A lot of savvy watchers want to see the US blow up the last of their missiles. And deplete their missile defense system. People actually do keep count.
But no other nation in the world can hurt the US — and demoralize its people — any better than the US is doing to itself.
In fact, off the top of my head — I cannot think of a single nation in the world that would waste any of the advanced weapons they possess (weapons that effectively act as a deterrence) by attacking the United States, militarily. What could they possibly hope to gain from that kind of stupidity?
Yes. The US makes life uncomfortable for Cuba, but other than that, what is the US accomplishing in the world?
Domestically, the US is launching another production of "Springtime for Hitler in Germany." A rebirth of the Fascist Movement to go with the American Prosperity Bible. How do people in the US not simply die of shame?

Honestly, the rational Iranian response would be to declare outright what is forever off the table in negotiations. Then: day 1, while the West squirms: the religious authorities in Iran temporarily cede power. Day 2: nuclear weapons flow into Iran from Pakistan. Day 3: the religions authorities retake power. I used to like going there, gotta admit. It's still too cold do to dry laundry on a line here, but I wanna get back to that! Our birds have been fed too. We've got the usual two or three geese couples setting up nests in our field. Yay!

Well, the Sonoma run does eat up a day, but pleasantly so
except for the hour and half drive up and the hour and a half drive back, and even those include some scenery here and there. We hit the Broadway market deli counter for sandwiches, go and pick up a wine shipment at a winery with some nice outdoor areas, do some tasting while also bsing with the longtime staffers, have them open a bottle of Grenache for us and loan us a couple of glasses, go outside and have our sandwiches and vino picnic, return the glasses, add the Grenache to our shipment container and mosey on home with a possible stop for gelato at a nearby gelato seller on the way out of town. There are worse ways to spend a day.
