Hot War, Cold War
Bring along the Atom Bombs

(to the tune Hot Corn, Cold Corn - Live / 1978 · The New Lost City Ramblers)
Open Thread Image.jpg

The on again, off again war with Iran teeters on the whim of the Don. Some how I don't trust his "morality". Many of the analysts in today's column suggest Trump has painted himself into a corner with Iran. This week we let lapse the last of the nuclear treaties, START. No telling what that move will precipitate...a new nuclear arms race, when we already have enough bombs to blown up the world multiple times? The other big news item of the week is the fall out from the Epstein files. Their release is echoing in various western halls of power, especially in Europe. The UK press is trying to promote the lame idea that Jeffery Epstein was a Russian agent. When in doubt, blame it on Russia. All that and more below the fold...

Screenshot 2026-02-07 at 09-52-44 hot war cold war at DuckDuckGo.png

Let's start with the possible hot war with Iran. We've long led an economic/sanction based war against Iran. The audacity of Iran to want their own oil instead of giving it to us! Can you believe it? All the baloney of nuclear negotiations and missile control is simply an excuse for an attempted regime change. The demands on Iran Friday at the Oman meeting were unacceptable...and intended to be so. The Duran explains...

He was formerly an advisor on Middle East issues to Javier Solana, the EU Foreign Policy Chief. So were waiting on Trump's whim to see how the situation plays out.

(9 min) Here’s Why Trump Has Flipped On All His Campaign Promises! w/ Dave Smith
Many of even the most ardent Trump supporters have expressed deep disappointment with the president after expecting anti-war policies, deficit reduction, transparency, and free speech, but instead got expanded wars, censorship, cover-ups, and ballooning military budgets. Dave Smith explains that while he never truly expected Trump to deliver, he is still shocked by how quickly and completely Trump has leaned into imperial power and betrayal of his stated principles.
Jimmy and Dave argue that Trump’s inner circle and broader political class have fully capitulated, while independent media figures and segments of his base are openly breaking with him. The discussion concludes that Trump’s symbolic defeat of corporate media may be his only lasting contribution, as his coalition fractures and faith in electoral politics continues to erode.

And that leads us on to the Epstein files

I found Mel K.'s take the most accurate I heard this week.

(8 min) Epstein's Rothschilds Connections EXPOSED in new DOJ Documents
In the new Epstein files, Epstein himself claims to represent the Rothschilds and the Pedophile sex-offender also treated the 2014 CIA-backed coup in Kiev, Ukraine as a lucrative business opportunity, according to the newly released Epstein documents.
Mel K agrees Epstein worked for MI6, CIA and Mossad, but his real job involved the multinational banking cartel. Some suggest he laundered money for them.

Alex and Harvey confirm the Rothschild connection. I've got it cued to that discussion.

(9 min) But the entire 38 min clip is worthwhile if you have an interest.
Alex Krainer & Harley Schlanger return to EXPOSE the true nature of the Starmer-Mandelson relationship. We dive deep into the recent Epstein files and reveal how the British establishment protects its own. Is the current Prime Minister serving the British people, or is he covering for the Empire's darkest secrets?

It seems obvious Epstein filmed the rich and powerful in compromised situations and used the film as a means of control (ie blackmail). I think Mossad, CIA, and MI6 were involved, but it makes sense that the elite overlords who run those agencies would also manage Epstein. YMMV

The most bizarre interview about Epstein I heard was with David Ickes, who thinks the entire affair comes from another plane of demons who feed off sick human behavior.
EPSTEIN'S SATANIC CULT IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, IT'S MUCH WORSE w David Icke
He uses some persuasive arguments like the sacrifice of young virgins from antiquity. A bit too far out for me, but I was enticed to listen to the entire 80 min interview. I found it thought provoking, but extreme.

The chemicals were sprayed largely over farmland in both areas.
Samples taken in the Lebanese area finally answered the question of what was being sprayed, and the answer isn’t good for farmers in the area, as the areas showed they were exposed to glyphosate at heavy concentrations.

Ukraine – Long-term Countrywide Blackouts – U.S. Presses For Peace Agreement
Last night another large Russian missile and drone strike further degraded the already severely damaged electrical energy system of Ukraine.
The main targets were around Kiev and in western Ukraine. The attack, especially in western Ukraine, was mostly by drones and subsonic cruise missiles. Except for Kiev air defense seems to have been absent or out of munitions.
...
For many months ahead Ukraine will have to live with just 50% or less of the needed electrical power. Further Russian attacks are likely to hinder repairs and may cause additional damage.
Due to the sever lack of power nearly all industrial production in Ukraine will come to a halt. Drone and ammunition supply for the frontline will further decrease.
Ukraine continues to wage its own energy war against Russia. Last night the Russian city of Belgorod experienced another blackout after its electricity network was hit by several HIMARS missiles. This is inconvenient for Russia but not comparable to the huge damage caused in Ukraine.
Meanwhile Reuters reports that the U.S. is in a hurry to push Ukraine towards a peace agreement

I hope your Sunday is off to a good start. We're headed into the 60's today. Sure is nice after all the cold weather. Next week, with nicer weather, we're finally getting to our winter window washing. They need it. I continue to hope Trump sees how damaging an Iran attack would be to him politically. Stay warm my friend!

We just climbed above freezing but headed for warmer temps. Hope you'll warm up soon. Spring is only a few weeks away.

"My Family Created Israel": The Rothschilds And Birth Of A Nation
For over a century, the Rothschilds, a Jewish banking dynasty that began in 18th-century Frankfurt, quietly helped lay the economic, political, and physical foundations of the state of Israel
...
Long before David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the establishment of the state of Israel, Baron Edmond James de Rothschild (1845-1934) became its unsung architect. Between the 1880s and 1920s, Edmond channeled funds into what was then Ottoman-controlled land.
He financed agricultural colonies, bought land from the Ottoman Empire, funded Hebrew schools, and built wineries that still bottle wine today.
...
If Edmond was the builder, Lionel Walter Rothschild (1868-1937) was the broker. A British aristocrat, scientist, and president of the English Zionist Federation, he became the formal recipient of the 1917 Balfour Declaration, the British letter pledging support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. He served as President of the English Zionist Federation.

The legacy passed next to James Armand de Rothschild and his wife Dorothy. He donated 1.25 million pounds for the construction of the Knesset, Israel's Parliament building. After his death, Dorothy financed the Supreme Court.

The most recent and arguably most vocal Rothschild to steward this legacy was Lord Jacob Rothschild (1936-2024), the 4th Baron and Victor's son. A financier, philanthropist, and cultural patron, Jacob chaired the Yad Hanadiv Foundation, which continues to support major projects in Israel. Under his leadership, the Foundation helped fund Israel's New National Library in Jerusalem.

Bottom line, the Rothschild family and the Zionists movement are intricately connected.

Keep the fire burning! We've got some cloud cover blocking our solar heat, but it may kick in later. Take care!

making and consuming pancakes using a revised formula sourdough starter. Next up is to work on some sourdough sandwich rolls from an untried recipe, The dough rose fine overnight now I have to shape the rolls and set them aside to rise again for another 1 to 3 hours and then bake. With luck we'll have sandwiches in them tonight (toasted ham and swiss). If they flop I've got the latest batch of regular bread for back-up. It was the first test of the new starter and came out really good.

Definitely need to listen to all your items because I am completely ignoring the news today, having much more fun in the kitchen and besides, who needs it?

Have you seen any of Prof. Jiang's clips on his predictive history channel? I like the idea of predictive history, but is always a surprise despite the predictions.
Last week I meant to feature one of his interviews with Glenn Diesen
Jiang Xueqin: Great Power Wars Over a New World Order
Prof. Xueqin Jiang argues that both historical patterns and game theory can be used to accurately predict future events. Prof. Jiang discusses socio-economic and political challenges of a world undergoing rapid change: the US imperial model becoming more bellicose during decline, Europe's struggle to remain relevant, the internal turmoil that will shake Asia, and the second war on Iran that will be very different as Iran understands this is an existential struggle. Prof. Jiang is the host of the popular educational channel Predictive History

At any rate he is interesting. Here's one of his classroom lectures...
Psychohistory (The Science of Imagining the Future)

In his June 13, 2024 class, Jiang Xueqin concludes his Geo-Strategy course by discussing how to use AI to chart a better future for humanity:
In his Foundation series, Isaac Asimov introduces the science of psychohistory. Is it really possible to predict the future by mathematically modeling historical development?
By mathematically modeling history, "Cliodynamics" has revealed interesting patterns. For example, Peter Turchin has discovered that it's the "over-production of elites" that drives social upheaval.
The advent of AI presents new possibilities for the mathematical modeling of history, and can even help us achieve psychohistory.
But to do so would require decades of painstaking research and analysis. It would also mean overturning the entire field of history, and looking at all of the past with a more critical and nuanced eye.
Finally, much of this research and development can only happen in a time of global collapse, when all of humanity is united in creating an open, progressive, and democratic future.
In his final message to his students, Jiang Xueqin stresses that the future is not something that happens -- it is something that has to be imagined and fought for.

Have a great Sunday!

that AI will be able to greatly improve on human intellect except to the degree that it can collect far more date far more quickly. The rub there is that the accuracy of the data is quite iffy as one digs deeper and deeper and goes further and further back.

A key impediment here is that reality is not deterministic, or at least I think it isn't. Hence, a myriad variations of the butterfly effect contaminate everything. Nonetheless, I find the idea and topic interesting and will have to try to remember to look into some of it, including the above item. Thanks.

I like the overall theory behind his analysis. Interesting slants on topics I am quite familiar with.

There's something a little off about Jiang Xueqin. Something off about his timelines. I didn't analyze it, but I will. Made me uncomfortable. It could be nothing. His lectures that reference China's history have strange narratives that lead to wrong assumptions.

Take him with a grain. He may be a spook.

By the way, the Blumenthal interview on the Epstein investigation was excellent. His research is very deep and complex. This year, people are going to be exposed to the depraved, shameful, and criminal truth about the United States. It's bottomless. I wonder how much that will change the future.

yesterday, to a wonderful outfit called H-Mart. That is short for Hoon Mart- it is a Korean hypermarket, and it is the epicenter for exotic cuisine in the Denver area. They have the best fresh produce, meats and fish, by far, and then all the wonderful sauces and wild ingredients in cans and bottles with no recognizable characters on the label. Fantastic. There is so much inspiration to be found there for the foodie, and at decent prices (by modern standards) to boot.

We go about every other month, whenever we run out of good soy sauce. Our pantry is now bulging, in a good way. And we treated ourselves to a tray of uni for our troubles… So, we’re ready for the snows, if they ever show up.

Did I mention that it is forecast to get up to 68degF here, just south of Denver, tomorrow? Right. The Year Without A Winter continues. When it gets here, and if it gets here, it may well be a doozy.

if you have an ethnic market in your area, and you have never gone there, go. Doesn’t even matter what ethnicity. Just *go*. Most of the folks who are regulars here, and post frequently, already do this as a matter of routine, I’m sure.

But there may be some lurkers who have never had the privilege of wandering a market filled with the wonders of the world, in which one does not speak any of the languages. This sort of a close-to-home outing is as close as anyone can come to that, here in the states…

Highly recommended.
