Yeah, it kind of sucks when your roll as a species is to be food for other species. Very thankful I'm not a small fish.

Hope you and your sister have a great trip to Zion. I've never been there but one day hope to.

Getting to greet the out of towners during migration season is always an exciting time! When we lived on the Texas coast, loved the warbler migration that came through and the raptor migration in the July through November season.

This year my sister and I are repeating a trip we took last year to Zion National Park. We will drive there and check things out as we go. The road up the canyon is closed to vehicle traffic except for people staying at the lodge and the shuttle buses that run up and down all day long. It is a good time to be on a bicycle riding the road. We looked for the condor that have been seen and I have a list of other birds we can possibly see while there.

Beautiful music. Hope you're able to find a spot to see all your birds again. I know how relaxing it is to sit and listen to them singing in the trees.

Thanks so much. Reminds me of what I've been missing lately in the way of wildlife. In my old neighborhood, I would see a variety of birds like this in my yard, and in the local park I frequented. Hawks, cranes, curlews, owls, osprey, doves, hummingbirds...

It also brings to mind this song Bird, Bird, Blue Bird, which is a famous Korean minyo or folk song said to be from the period of the Tonghak peasant rebellion in Korea. This recording is from the Nokdu Flower song track-

새야 새야 파랑새야 녹두밭에 앉지 마라
Birds, birds, blue birds, do not disturb the green-bean* fields.
녹두꽃이 떨어지면 청포장수울고간다
The farmers will cry if the flowers are dropped and lost.
