OT WE 24 SEP ~ Wrong speak

How does the government determine what type of speech, statements and opinions are
allowable? The media masters have their algorithms in place to sift for keywords and reject
content that is unfavorable to the authorities viewpoint. It's just business after all. HA!
The quaint idea that "free speech" is a constitutional right has been whittled down by
interpretations by the courts. There some here that prescribe a modernization of the
constitution. That is a bit of a sticky wicket. Is the political class to be trusted with such
a project? You know vested interests will try to overtake the process to push their own
agendas. How do we define unalienable? Good luck keeping the Zionists and money
lenders away from that one. Congress may go into committee and hash things out.
There are many ways to make sausage. What is better for the common man no longer
has advocacy. Because money buys justice in the US.

Zionism is a social disease
Just following the existing Constitution would be...
...an improvement.
Caught Tucker's 1st episode of a 9/11 exploration. Glad it is getting out into the mainstream.
The 9/11 Files: The CIA’s Secret Mission Gone Wrong | Ep 1
(26 min - with embedded ads you can fast forward) A former FBI agent who was embedded in the CIA’s Bin Laden unit, Mark Rossini, claims the CIA was fully aware that the 9/11 hijackers were in the United States planning an attack. Rather than inform the FBI, the CIA tried to recruit two of the hijackers for a “false-flag” operation, which quickly spiraled out of control. The failed mission raises urgent questions about government secrecy, intelligence failures, and what really happened before 9/11.
Talk about a psyop. The Kirk murder, like JFK, seems a similar con. The mafia branch of government needs to go, but they hold the reins of power.
Glad I can hide in the holler!

There is nowhere to hide
as long as you have a cell phone in your pocket.
I know how safe the hills and hollers of Appalachia used to be, the law would not leave the road and enter any holler in West Virginia where I was born.
My Dad stumbled across a body in a creek up a holler once. He ran to a local store ( actually a front for moonshine sales) and called the State Troopers. He was asked to stand at the mouth of said holler and wait for them to come. When they got there, he said the body was about a half mile up the creek. They said he needed to bring the body out to the road as they would not go off the road more than a few feet.
Granted, this was 40 years ago and I'm sure they would go in now, although with a SWAT unit.
None the less, small time scofflaws can still lose a trail in just about any holler in that part of the country.
The people of Appalachia are still fiercely loyal to each other and highly suspicious of outsiders. And not real fond of government agencies.
These are the people who fully understood Ronald Reagans quip "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".
I'm afraid America has become like Gaza, a very large open air prison. Try leaving with all your valuables. Medicare ends at the border, even though you paid for it for decades.
You still have to file tax returns.
And you are still subject to American laws and punishment can come from above in most of the western world.
And just recently, the Trump administration has threatened to revoke American Passports for "reasons".
Look up dystopia in the dictionary and it will simply say: America.
Replace your cel with a landline and hang a dead pig in a tree at the mouth of your holler.
That would send an ominous message to those that would do you harm.
Otherwise, have a great day.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
Good morning, Cap'n, et al!
Here is an article I just skimmed by John Whitehead. Very good analysis of our current criminalization of wrong-think, wrong-speech.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Heya OTC
.
.
a very pertinent article
thanks for sharing it!
Whitehead puts it down much better than I.
This is an important battle to fight if our liberties are to survive.
Zionism is a social disease
I know that
many folks here are not fans of Jon Stewart or The Daily Show. Can't blame you- sometimes he, and the show, are just far too cloying to watch. However, when he came back to do this post-Kimmel bit on the 19th, the show was actually worth watching- in the context of the this thread, anyway. In any case, I found it to be amusing for a change, and got a couple good laughs out of this.
The best thing about The Daily Show recently was them giving Josh Johnson a start. He has now become one of my favorite standups, and we'll go out of our way to see him whenever he is in town. He never does the same show twice- everything is always driven by the news of that day, and he is really good at it. In my opinion, his talent is wasted in the Daily Show format- he is a live standup, first and foremost. He's worth looking up on YouTube. If anybody likes this bit, I'll find his equivalent bit om YouTube and post it- I'm sure that it will be better than this. His C*****e K**k bit was killer, if you'll forgive my use of that term in this context...
Twice bitten, permanently shy.
Haven't seen Stewart in ages
.
.
glad he is still giving better entertainers
a spotlight on his platform.
thanks
Zionism is a social disease
Thanks for the OT, Capt'n
We need to keep this free speech meme going for as long as we can in the intertubeverse. It pisses TPTB off that they cannot control the narrative anymore. They would love for this free speech angle to die down and go away as it interferes with the narrative they are trying to build about more enforcement that is needed and that all speech is hate speech if they want to deem it that way.
They want complete control and the free speechers are saying "Whoa, hold on a minute".
A can of speech worms have been opened nationwide. Lets make it like toothpaste, cannot be put back in the tube.
IMHO
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.

you are welcome

this was packaged the other day, so all of the new
gnus are missing so far. Would like to see some push-back
from the talented souls in this arena. C99 is a good platform
to exercise our rights of expression. The censors have not
enough scope to hold free speech back, IMO.
Zionism is a social disease
Good morning Cap'n q, thanks for the OT
I spent the morning finishing off my OT for September 29 very much on this general topic. It is one of my buttons that is very easily pushed. There never has been anything close to free speech in this country, not socially, politically or legally. Hate speech, OTOH, is deeply embedded in our language and culture. Not in the mood to dive any deeper than that at the moment. Today is a bread baking day, and the garden is certain to need major attention after the recent heat wave.
the $46 question is - is calling somebody WOKE hate speech? Asking for a friend.
be well and have a good one
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

Making a New England dish instead.
Clams and linguini.
Didn't mean to steal your theme.
Some things get my goat and it feels
good to vent them occasionally.

Somehow I don't think that got
Tipper Gore's stamp of approval. Tsk, tsk.

Oh well

never was much good at approval ratings
these pure christian types are boring anyway
Zionism is a social disease
Hey, Tipper Gore came SO close to becoming America’s First Lady!
The same time that Joe Lieberman of all people almost became Vice President! …
As a leading Democrat and powerful senator opposed to peace, freedom, and the general welfare, over his long career Joe Lieberman was much more damaging than any young amateur like Charlie Kirk ever was.
Is calling someone antisemitic hate speech?
Asking for a different friend.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.

precludes everything except whatever they think
so, yeah. hate to speak anything bad about the genociders.
after all, they are the chosen ones by their god! /s
Zionism is a social disease
Back in the 1970s I worked with a computer programmer from Korea
who would joke that Koreans were the “Chōsen People” …
Apparently a couple of churches push that...
...in South Korea. But not as a joke, some of the far right churches make up their own weird myths only remotely related to the conventional biblical/new testament deal, God's avatar on earth, capable of performing miracles (for a price) etc.
Some of the post for both churches says that Korea is the second Israel.
Aqua has a great thread up on the history of extremist Christian cults in South Korea, the last few days. Know it alls, like Gordon Chang, and Morse Tan, are trying to defend the Unification Church in South Korea from charges of bribery and blatant interference in the party nomination process of Yoon Seok-yeol. They are calling Lee Jae-myung, a Chinese agent, and call for the restoration of Yoon Seok-yeol to power after his attempted military coup and impeachment by the Constitutional Court. South Koreans know the history of Christian cults, and cruel dictatorships in South Korea. That is the focus of their church-state separation principle. Most westerners aren't familiar with the association between far right churches and dictatorships in South Korea. Church interference in politics isn't restricted to South Korea. For example, the Moonies have routinely interfered with politics in Japan, and at least a couple of times in the US in the past as well as South Korea leading to political scandals. The Sincheonji cult and Sarang Jaeil cult helped spread covid in South Korea, and were big Yoon supporters. The attempted assassin of the current president Lee Jae-myung when he was party leader was believed to be connected to the Sincheonji cult.
I've spelled it Chosun, Choseon, and Joseon in English. You never know what the correct spelling is, Chosen is close enough. I've been accused of misspelling more than once. The problem is there isn't one standard for English spelling of Korean. 朝鲜 hanja, 조선 hangeul. Joseon is the name of last dynasty aka the Lee Dynasty at the time of the Japanese takeover. Use of term now can translate to North Korea, because that is what it calls itself.

Too late to do much about The Truth
The Kirk Saga demonstrates how far we've traveled down the Authoritarian blind alley. The good old Constitution is based on the Enlightenment -- it presumes the difficulty of telling lies from facts, and creates a mechanism for resolving factual disputes about government policy.
Today, all factual disputes are a matter of lies. Some are liars (The Other Side) while Our side is telling the truth.
Good luck to all.
I cried when I wrote this song. Sue me if I play too long.
Not sure what form truth takes anymore
.
.
it is a bit confusing, if you think about it.
Knowing what is right inside is half of the battle.
Thanks for dropping-in.
Zionism is a social disease
I just thought of a "what if..."
I want to say the right thing, ask AI for the definition. AI is programmed to satisfy me and AI knows my thinking patterns. AI gives me a fake definition. I say it based on AI. I get charged with some hate speech crime. AI is Zionist owned and controlled.
Man, I can wonder far into the weeds when I wish.

Not quite sure as what to make of it but it is kind of cute,

And then there’s always my favorite case demonstrating how easily the Constitution goes out the window and everyone
knuckles under to presidential decreesdefers to presidential leadership when “spooked” …https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korematsu_v._United_States
Korematsu, fwiw, is still "the law of the land".

Not really a surprise as Israel acts with impunity.
just wondering

how does the puny Israel state get away with this
blatant bs to international norms without
at least getting their wrists slapped? Is it because
the US monster has their back?
Spine is needed here.

Interesting development! (edited)
Edited to add the following.

OK then, maybe this will become volitile

it will be disastrous for the Zion entity to

As someone who had also never heard of Kirk, or watched Jimmy Kimmel for that matter, the hue and cry about the former’s death and the latter’s eviction from the media (later retracted) strikes me as very much like the artificial media conniptions over the death of Alex Navalny. Unimportant but self-important people given outlandishly inflated reputations by the media, for political purposes, that no one should care about. In a sane country, that is.
Zionism is a social disease
A guy I worked with in Los Angeles
this week asked me if I had tuned into Kimmel's return to network TV. My reply: "I don't worry about who is on television."
Still don't.
I cried when I wrote this song. Sue me if I play too long.
all speech is via private platforms wether they are
TV channels or Caucus99, and as such there is no free speech on private platforms. I'm restricted as to what I can say here and so is some late night comedian on ABC.
You're right about platform owners having the authority
to control their own domains.
But we are all free to disagree with and criticize their decisions without presuming to give them orders. I personally disagree with taking Kimmel off the air but ABC is free to blow me off.
