The Tit for Tat Trap
The Israel/Iran war seems to operate in a tit for tat status. Israel blows up Iran's Damascus embassy, Iran floods Israel with old drones and missiles (probably to map their defenses). Israel murders the primary Hamas negotiator in Tehran the day Iran inaugurated its new president, Iran targets and hits Israeli military facilities. In response Israel mounts an aerial attack on Iran's air defense system. So now we're waiting for the response. Is there no way out of this tit for tat trap?
Will Iran respond to Israel’s latest attack? (10 min)
The team discusses Israel's air strikes on military sites in Iran early on 26 October during which four Iranian soldiers were killed. Israel's attack came almost a month after a barrage of ballistic missiles fired by Tehran hit at least three military and intelligence installations in Israel.

As a new member of BRICS+ I think Iran is under pressure from Russia and China to moderate their response, but we'll simply have to wait and see. Last week we focused on the BRICS+ summit. Pepe and Larry Johnson discuss BRICS+ and how they might influence the situation in a 65 min conversation.

West’s Rules-Based Order To Collapse Soon – Medvedev
The so-called rules-based order imposed by the US and its allies on the global scene is an unstable structure, which is about to fall apart, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said in an exclusive interview with RT. Creating crises such as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in various places is how the US is trying to rule the world, Medvedev, who now serves as the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, told the broadcaster on Saturday. “So, the more crises they create, the better, they think, the situation is for America… It makes money from weapons, supplies, and by allocating money to its defense industry,” he said. “The Americans are getting what they want at the price of more blood and casualties. This is why the Americans are engaging in feeding the war. But that system is coming to an end,” the former president warned.
Sounds accurate to me.

Banning UNRWA is a new way to kill children, aid groups warn
Palestinian human rights groups say that new Israeli legislation banning a UN agency from providing services to Palestinians under occupation “aligns with a broader pattern of Israel’s genocidal intent.”
On Monday, Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, passed into law – with near unanimity – two bills that would effectively ban UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine refugees, from operating in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
This is clearly against international law. Starvation as a weapon is not an acceptable strategy.
The Ukrainian Disaster
NY Times Announces Ukraine Narrative Change
We are now arriving at a phase where the narrative can no longer ignore the objective reality. Ukraine is losing the war. Russia is winning.
As Russia Advances, U.S. Fears Ukraine Has Entered a Grim Phase (archived) - Nov 1, 2024
Weapons supplies are no longer Ukraine’s main disadvantage, American military officials say.
> American military and intelligence officials have concluded that the war in Ukraine is no longer a stalemate as Russia makes steady gains, and the sense of pessimism in Kyiv and Washington is deepening.
...
The Pentagon assesses that Ukraine has enough soldiers to fight for six to 12 more months, one official said. After that, he said, it will face a steep shortage. What's happening on the Front?
Since the Ukrainian command had sent its best units to die in the senseless incursion of the Russian Kursk oblast, the Ukrainian frontline in the south-east deteriorated significantly. Russian forces progressed along the whole frontline. There are simply too few Ukrainian soldiers to hold the defensive positions. The increased use of Russian FAB bombs destroy Ukrainian positions and let the Russians proceed.
Of course the US election influences all these geopolitical issues.

People Aren’t Garbage. Partisan Politics Is (Matt Taibbi)
The cycle was the usual nonsense. At a Donald Trump rally in Manhattan a comic called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Joe Biden emerged from his crypt to croak, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.” The Internet exploded. Reporters were dispatched around the country to gauge how much more pissed off everyone was now. ABC’s take interviewing Harris supporters in Pennsylvania was, “Voters view one another across partisan divide with increasing animosity.” They quoted humans-in-the-street, who all felt strongly. “I would say that some of them are garbage,” said Samantha Leister, 32, while Shawn Vanderheyden, 44, opined, “I just think they are uneducated, and they believe all the lies.” ABC summed up the cultural divide: “Interviews with voters in battleground states reveal that it’s only growing deeper and more insurmountable.”
Surely people know it, but this is all a trick. First, campaign writers only talk to people at campaign events, so the pool of quotes is automatically pared to holders of Very Strong Political Opinions. Second, the odd “Who cares?” answer is instinctively culled by campaign writers as commercially/politically unhelpful. Non-voters or even just people who care more about other things than Harris/Trump — UFOs, knitting, the girl in biology class — ruin the suspension of disbelief. You end up reading copy that hugely over-represents that strange subset of people who define themselves by their votes.
Color me surprised, politics is full of spin.
I found this an effective ad/endorsement/spin?

I intend to vote for Jill on Tuesday... the only pro-Palestinian Jew on the ballot. I think she may do better than expected. Time will tell.
However, I find myself in agreement with Caity about voting...
My one and only position on how Americans should vote is that they should do whatever makes them feel nice, since that’s all US presidential elections are: an emotional pacifier to let the masses feel like they have some meaningful control over their country. It’s about feelings and nothing else.
If voting for Kamala Harris makes you feel nice because it lets you pretend you’re stopping fascism or protecting women and minorities or helping to secure a ceasefire in Gaza or whatever, then go right ahead. That’s what your vote is there for.
If voting for Donald Trump makes you feel nice because it lets you pretend you’re sticking it to the establishment or punishing the Democrats for their misdeeds or ending the wars or whatever, then by all means do so. This whole spectacle is exclusively about feelings.
If voting for a third party makes you feel nice because it lets you pretend there might be some answer in electoral politics or that the empire will ever allow anyone who truly opposes the abuses of capitalism, militarism and imperialism anywhere near power, then get in there and cast that vote. Whatever makes your feely bits feel nice.
Just don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re doing anything other than sucking on an emotional pacifier, because you’re not.
Perhaps I'm voting Tuesday out of habit, or sense of duty, or see it as a national obligation...I'm unsure. So vote how you want, or don't vote if you want. To my mind it is for us each to decide for ourselves.
Only 100 years ago...
I found this conversation interesting, not that I agree on all the analysis, but that I think it is worthy of consideration.

How to Prepare for a World You Soon Won’t Recognize - Frank Giustra
Two years later, Daniela Cambone returns to Italy for an exclusive, in-depth interview with Frank Giustra, delving into pivotal global issues: the approaching U.S. presidential election, skyrocketing U.S. debt, the rise of BRICS, and the transformative power of AI, and more. Giustra delivers a stark warning: “Eventually, we're going to see a complete reset of the global monetary system.” He explains that as the U.S. dollar’s dominance erodes due to relentless inflation and money printing, mounting U.S. debt could set the stage for a new financial order—often, he notes, brought about by conflict. Giustra highlights the mBridge project, a revolutionary model in which central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) used in trade are backed by gold, as a potential standard for a new non-dollar trading system.

Co-operation versus corrupt colonization.
Multipolar sharing instead of Unipolar globalization.

Good morning, LO!
Thanks for planning my day! Lol!
I watched a Corbett Report last evening which covered 2 subjects. Climate change, revealing new scientific data shows vegetation absorbs 31% of carbon emission, far more than originally claimed, and that microbes are the essential cause of warming, not cow farts. The other subject was the Kazan Declaration full text, focusing on the clauses that fully support the IMF, WTO, and WHO, CBDCs, vaccination o, and the climate agenda 2035. The shorter and more succinct comparison can be found in Corbett's show notes, featuring an article by Edward Slavsquat, showing the Declaration wording is almost identical to the latest proclamation of the G20.
I won't link to them, as I have no way of verifying if these people are genuine or plants, but I can read fairly well, and sure enough, the language of G20 documents and Kazan are, here and there, virtually identical. One might not necessarily be comfortable that the Declaration is accurate, per these links. One would do well to go to a trusted source to find the Declaration as provided by a trusted source. If it is bs, let me know so I can properly repent.
Have some fun today, dear friend!

Thanks Lookout for the WW. Watched the whole video with Col. Wilkerson.
I think it's interesting that Wilkerson picks the rank of colonel as the cut off for the suck up factor on promotions in the military. It's actually lower than that in the Army which is the most overtly political service imo. This way he gets to eat his cake and have it too. O-6 could be the barrier in the USN. The Christian fundamentalist fanatic cult in the officer ranks is also a thing to play for advancement. There was a scandal at one point at the USAF academy about this. Also I observed that this was a problem in the Army as well. Worship with your superiors, get promoted, if not....
Venality and corruption is structural. Regarding it as a personal or character issue is trivializes the problem to some extent.
Wilkerson cites Rothkopf? Rothkopf is a tool, enamored with ruling elites. Didn't like his book Superclass. He poses as a social critic and critical thinker. I can't take him seriously. Rothkopf said Trump was a traitor conspiring with Russia against the American people. I'm no Trump defender but wasn't this a psy-op to make this accusation against Trump?
Wilkerson, "the president was asleep..." No the current president is venal and corrupt. That's how he got where he is.
Glenn Diesen asked the right question about the corrupting influence of arms industry at one hour one minute point.
Er, what about mobile ICBM launchers? I don't believe they'll be taken out during a first strike. I understand what he said about CEP. I'm not a nuclear engineer, but FAS and Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Responsible Statecraft all published this news several years ago. The colonel is simply wrong about the Cultural Revolution numbers. "Only five people know besides me..."

and gave them weapons to build up their defenses. Plus the sanctions on Russia and pulling out of the INF treaty. Plus he admitted 4 more countries to NATO. Peace candidate my left buttock. Rússia knows that if Trump loses, it will be the end of Russia as we know it…
Putin, Medvedev and so many others will collapse…
The rest is pure Russian propaganda…
Look at Medvedev's teeth. He doesn't even afford to fix teeth? No Oligarch is paying for his cosmeric dental surgery? He must be on the bottom of power chain in Kremlin so he is barking like mad dog for upgrade in the chain to be able to afford cosmetic dental treatments.
That Trump and republicans are still believed to be Russian assets by shitlibs even after the Mueller report came out….and no one but them have accused republicans of being Putin’s puppets. Don't know we'll be experiencing normalcy any time soon, but we've been through this once before, and we're okay and have a place to live for several months at least. I think we'll let things ride for a while, and see what happens. End of the hurricane season, insurance response, etc.
As far as how to change things I don't have the answers. I think the Colonel made some good points about the draft and the potential reaction now to any draft.
This is an X post showing the largest opposition demonstration in awhile in Seoul yesterday.
Progressive members of the opposition democratic party led the demonstration early on. Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, spoke at length. He spent quite a bit of time on the implications of President Yoon making military commitments to Ukraine without National Assembly approval. I think since there is zero consensus with or breaking ranks within the government party supporting Yoon, the opposition can't get the 2/3 vote to overcome presidential vetoes.
At Saturday's demonstration, during the day, impeachment wasn't the focus, the new tactic is direct action, the direct power of people to amend the constitution. They want Yoon to resign. They say they wish to shorten the presidential term to three years, with a constitutional amendment to get rid of Yoon. I don't understand yet how that is more easily accomplished. Later in the day, the candlelight speakers were simply calling for impeachment.
They need a million plus people in the street and everyone knows it, I think, to get rid of Yoon.

....hellish nightmare that Ukraine has become — one that most of us here expected and dreaded from the very beginning of the US/NATO backed aggression against the ethnic Russian civilian occupied borderlands. From the deliberate Western trampling of the Minsk II Agreement to the stonewalling of Russia's Open Letter pleas published in Western newspapers asking for an explanation for the NATO/Western-weaponized aggression and violence along Russia's western border — there was never any question, for People who can Think, that Russia would win any military confrontation and that Ukraine would be reluctantly decimated.
I hope that those who have not yet faced the truth about the situation they are in, due to the horrendous decisions and corrupt actions of their elected leaders, can perhaps extract a sense of personal empowerment and personal satisfaction as they vote for candidates in the national elections. I pray they have some national goals other than their own economic relief, because that will not be happening.
The Neocon psychopaths controlling the US Government, Inc. will not allow Ukraine to seek peace nor to retreat. The world is doomed to watch the slow and unspeakable grinding up of human flesh thrown at the Russian Army until there is none left to throw. This is the psychopath's "conditioning" of the US colonists — and the baptism of fire for the newly elected administration. Jabba the Hut was, of course, an iconic psychopath and [he-she-it] is an excellent meme for the Federal government handlers/controllers. Watching this debacle has always been optional, and certainly remains so. Do what you must to keep your beautiful minds intact. Your role for the future is intelligentsia — and not resistance or revolution.
Lookout, the formatting of today's Weekly Watch is particularly elegant. Consistent spacing formulas and the additional use of block quotes for exposition and bridging, presents Readers with a clear roadmap for finding their way in and out of the Report. I think you spent some time with this, or perhaps you're a natural.
True…
Regardless of who wins the election we will see Ukraine lower the draft age to 18. One member of government says that children can fly drones because they have already learned how to do it from video games. And of course more women must be sent to the front.
Ukraine lost the war last year when it couldn’t do anything about Russia taking more country. Zelensky should have made peace, but of course if he did he would have been killed. This is another genocide, but at least the victims are armed…

Good night friends...
This evening we went to a large celebration of life for a man who gave much to his community. We saw many people we rarely see. The remembrances and stories were touching. Makes me think of my common statement: Treasure every day!
We all will face the end of our road. The trick is to make your life journey as high a quality as possible. We lived in a golden age.
and one more...
(Traditional)
(Chorus)
How do I know my youth is all spent?
My get up and go has got up and went
In spite of it all, I'm able to grin
When I think of the places my get up has been
Old age is golden, I think I've heard said
But sometimes I wonder as I crawl into bed
My ears in a drawer, my teeth in a cup
My eyes on the table until I wake up
As sleep dims my vision, I say to myself
Is there anything else I should lay on the shelf?
But nations are warring and business is vexed
So I'll stick around to see what happens next
(chorus)
When I was younger, my slippers were red
I could kick up my heels right over my head
When I was older my slippers were blue
But still I could dance the whole night thru
Now I am old, my slippers are black
I huff to the store and I puff my way back
But never you laugh, I don't mind at all
I'd rather be huffing than not puff at all
(chorus)
I get up each morning and dust off my wits
Open the paper and read the obits
If I'm not there, I know I'm not dead
So I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Great lyrics

My own take on Tit for Tat from a month ago
Of course there could be a mushroom cloud over Tehran at any moment, but for right now it looks like my skepticism was justified:
It seems to me that we are being treated to a non-stop show of frightening waves of chaos. Covid, Ukraine, Hamas and now Iran. The scares are buttressed by a lot of dead bodies, making it hard to argue that it is all hokum.
If I am just wrong and there really are Zionism supporting Billionaire Power Mongers who imagine that Israel is winning, just like Ukraine is winning and like Pfizer won the war against Covid -- I won't ever have to be embarrassed about my error as we will all be dead.
I cried when I wrote this song. Sue me if I play too long.
