The local spaghetti models show a big bend landfall on the other side of Florida. Some broadcasts from other regions still showing a couple of lower probability tracks as well going toward Jacksonville (bad for us). Those are the CYA projections. The local government says they cleared the drainage canals and retention ponds. Almost exactly two years since Ian.

Except for those Florida Gulf coast areas under a hurricane warning the whole state is under a tropical storm warning because the wind field is said to be very large.

Cleaned up the loose stuff out in the yard, put the small flower pots in the garage etc. If sustained winds are 50 or lower, I won't board the windows. If it changes course, I will. Glad I cut down the trees last year. They said flooding won't be a threat this time for us. I hope the fortune tellers are right. Didn't sandbag the house (so far).

My county is right on the outskirts of where it's supposed to land. It's already rained this morning and the weather is at least 15 degrees cooler than usual. They've cancelled school for tomorrow. I have an appointment with pain management tomorrow but that is to the west so it shouldn't be affected. Today I'm just going to pick up sticks, fill up my gas tank, and get prepared.
