Welcome to the Fall!

Open Thread Image.jpg

The equinox occurred this morning at 7:44 AM CT, marking the transition to Autumn. The Wheel of the Year keeps turning, bringing ... Mabon, celebrated on the autumn equinox, marks a moment of perfect equilibrium in the year, with day and night of equal length. Occurring in September, it signifies the second harvest, a time when the abundance of summer begins to wane and preparations for the coming winter months get underway. Perhaps this fall will see the fall of Ukraine and NATO, the fall of Israel, the fall of the hegemon and it's dollar, the fall of Kamala and the demoncrats? We'll stay tuned and watch the unfolding of the season.

This week brings exploding pagers, a Russian ammo depot explosion, rapid gains in Ukraine by Russia, the push for more censorship and media manipulation, anticipation of the BRICS+ summit next month, and more intrigue on the recent Trump assassination attempted.

Mysteries around the assassination attempt.
How was Ryan Routh, “a man with no money for child support,” able to suddenly start living in a pricey house in Hawaii and afford flights to Taiwan, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine?
Why has Routh “never served a day in jail” when he has “100 different counts” to his name?
Why was Routh's fiance okay with him flying to Ukraine for months at a time?
How was he able to feed himself in Ukraine when he only had “$68 in [his] bank account.”
“And everywhere he goes, he gets press from the local papers to the New York Times to Newsweek.”
The whole thing stinks, and it suggests that someone other than his “fiance” was supporting him.

Matt Gaetz reveals there are FIVE ASSASSINATION TEAMS targeting President Trump, per DHS source

Gov. Ron DeSantis just told Fox News that the Feds are BLOCKING his investigators’ access at Trump’s golf course where the 2nd attempt on Trump’s life occurred
WHY?
Attempted m*rder is a STATE CRIME. How do the Feds have the right to block that investigation?
Is this yet ANOTHER coverup by the FBI?

I think the deep state is in a panic...
YESTERDAY: Nearly 60% of @Teamsters are voting for President Trump.
TODAY: 70% of Steamfitters Local 638 are voting for President Trump.
ALSO TODAY: It’s estimated 65-70% of UAW members are voting for President Trump.

Something stinks about the first Trump assassination attempt
, and Joe Rogan and Matt Walsh can smell it.
“The whole thing is nuts!”
• The shooter's apartment was found professionally cleaned, with no silverware.
• A phone connected to the shooter was tracked moving between the FBI office and the shooter's location multiple times.
• Crooks came to the event with a rangefinder and nobody seemed to care. “You have two reasons for a rangefinder: you're trying to shoot something. Or you're using it for golf. If you're not playing golf, then you're trying to shoot something,” @JoeRogan said.
• The shooter’s body was quickly cremated.
• No toxicology examination was released, leaving questions about possible drugs in the shooter's system.
“So this guy, somehow or another, figures out how to get on the roof, take these shots. And then they k*ll him. Now, if he shot and hit Trump. If Trump didn't turn his head at that pivotal moment where they talk about it and it's a headshot, Trump is dead, the world's in chaos,” Rogan remarked.

Leader of The Free World?
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, has repeatedly warned that the United States “is becoming a Third World nation.” Too late, it seems. There are plenty of signs that the U.S. is already a failed state of dictatorship, poverty and violence – albeit one that sports the biggest number of billionaires and supposedly the largest military power in the world. That dichotomy is not a weird aberration. It is central to why the United States of America is a failed state. So far, in the oligarchic-controlled 2024 election cycle, there have been two assassination attempts on Trump. On July 13, he narrowly escaped death after being shot in the ear by a sniper while speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania. Last weekend, a second sniper was thwarted at a golf course in Florida by Secret Service agents.
With seven weeks counting down to election day on November 5, the atmosphere across the United States is fraught with violence and a palpable sense of extreme crisis. Both candidates, Trump and his Democrat rival Kamala Harris, have labeled each other as “threats to democracy.” The level of maligning rhetoric and vilification is unprecedented and cofounds a “normal” political process. It is reasonable to cast the two parties’ campaigns as being guilty of inflaming the climate of hatred, violence, and intense polarization bordering on civil war. The corporate-controlled news media is discernibly in favor of Harris, creating a climate of enmity towards Trump, which is reciprocated by his base toward Democrats. The dysfunctional process is accentuated by many former senior Republican figures publicly endorsing the Democrat, and repudiating Trump as “unfit to serve”.

Kamala appeared with Oprah in a town hall this week. More word salad was on the menu...

It's the Economy, Stupid!
An Unprecedented Monetary Destruction Is Coming
Global money supply has soared by $20.6 trillion since 2019, according to Bloomberg. Additionally, global debt surged by over $15 trillion in 2023, reaching a new record high of $313 trillion. Around 55% of this rise came from developed economies, mainly the U.S., France, and Germany. Unfunded liabilities in the United States amount to $72 trillion, almost 300% of GDP. This may seem high until you look at Spain with 500% of GDP, France with close to 400%, or Germany with close to 350% of GDP. There is no escape from debt. Paying for the government’s fictitious promises in paper money will result in a constantly depreciating currency, thereby impoverishing those who earn a wage or have savings. Inflation is the hidden tax, and it is very convenient for governments because they always blame shops or businesses and present themselves as the solution by printing even more currency.

CBDC?
Trump recently pledged to ban CBDCs, promote the creation of a national crypto reserve and guarantee that the government will not sell crypto obtained through law enforcement seizures. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: “Welcome aboard, Mr. President.” Again, I’ve been sounding the alarm about Biden Bucks for over two years. I’ve been warning about Joe Biden’s plan to control your money and take away your privacy rights completely. President Trump is right. Biden Bucks are a dangerous threat to freedom. They’re a threat to our constitutional liberties and give the government total control of our private financial information.

Craig Murray Describes Transition Of UK, West In General Into Tyranny (PCR)
Here is a summary of the speech in the video (10 min) of former British Ambassador Craig Murry describing the transition of Britain and the West in general into Tyranny. The UK has criminalized dissent. A new Public Order Act makes it illegal to hold a rally or demonstration if it “inconveniences” anyone. This gives the state unlimited power to clamp down on any demonstration. A new National Security Act makes it illegal to accept funding if it comes from “a hostile state” (there is no definition of what qualifies as a “hostile state”) A new Public Safety Act makes it a criminal offense to publish “misinformation” (there is no definition of “misinformation” — the government decides). It is all about control of the narrative. Zionist lobbies have great influence on official narratives across the West.
Citizens of the West are not allowed to accuse Israel of genocide; this is increasingly being equated with being a “terrorist”. Anti-terrorism powers are being used to prevent any criticism of Israel. Murray, a former British Ambassador, was arrested at the airport under the “Terrorism Act” for attending a pro-Palestine demonstration in Iceland. Under the Terrorism Act, if you are arrested at an airport, you have no right to remain silent, no right to a lawyer, you must turn over all your electronic devices with the passwords. If you refuse to turn over your electronic devices, it is two years in prison. Two years in prison for refusing to answer a question.

US Has Declared War On Free Speech
The US crackdown on Russian media amounts to a declaration of war on free speech, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday. She described the new sanctions against RT and other news outlets as “repressions unprecedented in scale.” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced new sanctions against RT on Friday, accusing it of engaging in “covert influence activities” and “functioning as a de facto arm of Russian intelligence.” Earlier in September, Washington imposed sanctions on RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan and three other senior RT employees over alleged attempts to influence the 2024 US presidential election. “The US has declared war on freedom of speech throughout the world, turning to open threats and blackmail against other states in an effort to set them against the domestic media and establish sole control over the global information space,” Zakharova said, promising that the punitive measures Washington was using to target Russian media would not go unanswered.

TikTok Wipes Out Sputnik Accounts
The US Department of the Treasury issued a statement on September 4 announcing sanctions against Sputnik’s parent media group Rossiya Segodnya, RIA Novosti, RT, Sputnik, and Ruptly. The sanctions also targeted Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, and a number of other senior executives. On the morning of September 21, the video-sharing platform TikTok removed the Sputnik International account of the Sputnik news network, just days after the US announced new sanctions targeting Russian media. TikTok has not yet commented on the development.

Ukraine Proxy war...
An American Coup?
In a 30-minute interview with Judge Napolitano on September 18, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell and critic of America’s wars, described a recent event in which Pentagon chief Gen. Lloyd Austin told President Biden that, in Wilkerson’s words, “the Pentagon has taken over, essentially, diplomacy as well as any action, militarily speaking, with regard to both theaters of war,” meaning Ukraine and Israel. Wilkerson added, “And so they’re now in charge.” Austin, according to this telling, listened “to the people in the bowels of the Pentagon who know the truth” and forced the President to back down. Biden was furious, we’re told, but “took that advice.” Except, as Wilkerson tells it, it wasn’t advice, but instruction. “No dice,” as Wilkerson characterized the message, sounds pretty final. This is good news and bad news. The good, U.S. policy is now: To Netanyahu, if you invade Lebanon or attack Iran, you’re on your own. To Zelenskyy, no to long range missiles reaching deep into Russia.

This Ain’t No WWIII: This Is A War OF Terror (Pepe Escobar)
First we had action: President Putin – cool, calm, collected – warns that any attack on Russia with long-range NATO missiles will be an act of war. Then we had reaction: NATO rats scurrying back to the gutter – in haste. For now. All that was a direct consequence of the Kursk debacle. A desperate gamble. But the state of things in the proxy war in Ukraine was desperate for NATO. Until it became crystal clear it’s all basically non-recoverable. So there are two options left. Ukraine’s unconditional surrender, on Russia’s terms, tantamount to NATO’s complete humiliation. Or escalation to all-out war (italics mine) with Russia. The U.S. – but not the UK – ruling classes seem to have registered the essence of Putin’s message: if NATO is at war with Russia, “then, bearing in mind the change in the essence of the conflict, we will make appropriate decisions in response to the threats that will be posed to us.”

No One Is Safe: The Global Threat of Israel’s Weaponized Pagers
Israel’s coordinated attacks on Lebanon, marked by the near-simultaneous explosion of thousands of pager and walkie-talkie devices over two days, resulted in the deaths of at least 37 people, including children, and left thousands severely wounded. This brutal terrorist attack should serve as a dire warning to the world: a stark reminder that the occupation state’s criminal actions know no limits, indiscriminately targeting those who challenge its interests, or those of its western allies. In the wake of this aggression, who can guarantee that Israeli exports to other countries won’t be weaponized in future conflicts? The “pager attack” serves as yet more evidence that Israel poses a global threat, ushering in a dangerous, dystopian new era in which civilians are no longer safe, even in their own homes. When analyzing the pager detonations from a legal standpoint, it becomes clear that Israel’s killing spree in Lebanon this week lies somewhere between a war crime and an act of terrorism.

So welcome to the fall
I've had a busy week with company and activities. This week's essay is a little disjointed as a result, however I hope you found some thing of interest. The deciduous forest will soon wear its brightly colored foliage. The weather will cool, and the nights will become longer. I love living where there are distinct seasons. I enjoy the changes, and different tasks around the homestead. I hope your weekend has been nice and that you're having a good start to Autumn!

things have been crazy enough here that it was completely off my radar. We usually have a short, hot, "Indian summer", but I can't recall when. At any rate, we have 2 or 3 days of serious hot coming this week, or so they say.

Early Octobere we will run up over the Sierras to check out fall colors at some legendary sites in the Eastern Sierras, spend some time with friends who live out there and then circle back to the coast down Pismo way, followed by some Monterey time and then home. In the meantime, my wife is heading for an annual retreat she attends in San Juan Bautista. This leaves me free to play in the kitchen with experimental goodies and such, though there is some pruning and stuff like that to do too.

My garlic came yesterday, I'll plant tomorrow. Not doing anything today until Ms. Lutris is all loaded and safely on the road. Here's the garlic cultivar I'm gonna try this year:

Hardneck German Porcelain garlic produces impressively large bulbs, up to 3 inches in diameter, with thick, translucent white wrapper leaves. Inside you’ll find 4 to 6 very large, juicy, easy to peel cloves.

This richly flavored, robust garlic is strong and hot, perfect for robust recipes like pesto, marinara or cioppino for a big punch of rich garlic flavor. When used in slow cooked dishes, its spicy flavor mellows beautifully; enjoy in stews, soups, grains and beans, roasts and poultry.

German Porcelain thrives in cold weather. Keeps for many months. Midseason harvest.

I tried to plant it last year and it came up and started out like nobody's business and then gophers got it. That planting bed has now been gopher proofed and the entire back yard has gopher deterrents. Not planting shallots this season, just odds and ends plas the inevitable carrots.

Russia reports strike on ship carrying Western weapons to Ukraine
A dry cargo carrier delivering missiles and ammunition to Kiev was struck, the Defense Ministry has claimed *** In a statement on Saturday, the ministry claimed that Russian warplanes, drones, missiles, and artillery forces destroyed two Ukrainian ammo depots and “struck a dry-cargo carrier with missiles and ammunition, provided to the Kiev regime by Western countries.”

Officials did not say how badly the ship was damaged or where the attack took place, though Ukraine relies mainly on the Black Sea and Danube routes to receive sea shipments.

....of the scenario that has been playing out since 9-11, when the neocon-psychopaths swept themselves into power in DC. (An extension of the psychopaths that are endemic to Israel.) Their delusional insanity exploded when the remorseless Coup government was installed and seized control took over foreign affairs in DC. Military spending went crazy. Trillions of dollars soon disappeared and 10s of trillions more have simply vanished. It would be nearly two decades before the American people noticed. But by then, they were mentally impaired by constant propaganda and manipulative lies coming from their government.

I keep thinking the evil was implanted with the creation of the CIA and their untold alliance with the FBI. And as you correctly point out, making use of 9/11 to start a war OF terror against enemies at home and abroad.

The sheeple seem easily persuaded. So many of my musician friends are brainwashed shit-libs. I just say sorry I can't vote for a genocidal Zionist, red nor blue. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Sadly people have such emotional ties to the kabuki theater, not realizing it is all a big con. Oh well, it is what it is. I think the evil can be traced back to many points in time. One of the more compelling narratives I've read recently traced the evil back to Kennedy's assassination. But it has been with the American culture for a long time. The nation's soil has been soaked with the blood of the world's greatest genocide. I sometimes trace it back to 1921, when the Council of Foreign Relations was founded to pull the US into foreign wars. Bankers and investors were always the enablers because its goal is controlling the wealth and power of the world.

I watched the Orlov interview again. He describes what the defeat of the current conflicts will be like for the UK, Europe, Israel, Ukraine, and the United States. It seems unreal, but most of the experts I follow say the US will be finished, internationally, by the third quarter of 2025. I don't know if the US has a plan for what happens next. The military needs to come home and the foreign bases need to close. DC is completely delusional. The corporations that own the US care nothing for the people.

@Pluto's Republic is that the decline will be longer and deeper than something that will end definitively by Q3 2025. I'm sorry but the source does not occur to me at this time. Here are the forces moving in the direction of a longer and deeper decline:

1) The Russians no longer trust the West in any way, shape, or form, so the idea that there will be no end to the conflict in Ukraine suits the top leadership just fine. I think Putin was sincere in wanting Harris to win the election, because an honest peace proposal would at this time cause him, Putin, some difficulties. It's so much easier to drag out the invasion for as long as possible, wipe out the Nazis and hand the Ukrainian remnant on a silver platter to Poland: "here -- you used to govern this -- see what you can do now." In that case, then, the war will end when both the Democratic and Republican Parties, warmongers both, are replaced by something better. That should take some time.

2) The United States will probably send in troops to protect Israel if Hezbollah/ Iran can succeed in wiping out enough of the IDF to make it appear necessary. Nobody wants to do this now but it will become necessary due to mission creep. We have to guarantee Israel's right to exist, you know. That, in turn, will necessitate a vast re-militarization of the US regardless of who wins. Even so it will still take a lot of time before the excess spending wipes out the dollar. The national debt is, what? $35 trillion? And dollar hegemony is still intact?

3) There still appears to be quite some time left before the middle class in the US is completely finished. Eventually the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, Bill Clinton's pet targ, will do the job.

So, yeah, longer and deeper. But, still, vote Green, avoid the rush.

I think in most areas at our latitudes, the eequiLUX, when night and daylength are both 12 hours, is in a few days. The equiNOX is somewhat a misnomer, when sun is directly over equator, but not absolutely 12 hour daylength (and night length) yet here. Looking at Weather Underground daylength times for a few latitudes:Sept. 22, 2024 daylength per WU
MSP Minneapolis-St.Paul MN - 12 h 10 m
STL Saint Louis MO 12 h 09 m
SAT San Antonio, TX 12 h 07 m (about 30 N.)

We're still in summer here at 30N. Cooled down to 90f today, been 95 the last three days. Lows have been a balmy 75f! No fall front yet. The leaf color is dying trees from the drought. Migratory breeding birds are almost all gone, wintering species not here yet. Generally need inclement weather for knocking down transient migrants. Most are overflying us due to the obviously parched appearance of our landscape from the sky.

Hope all arr well!

@dystopian

...as you point out. However today included the moment when the sun's rays directly hit the equator...so it was equisomething.

The definition of the equinox as being a time of equal day and night is a convenient oversimplification. For one thing, it treats night as simply the time the sun is beneath the horizon, and completely ignores twilight. If the sun were nothing more than a point of light in the sky and if the Earth lacked an atmosphere, then at the time of an equinox the sun would indeed spend one half of its path above the horizon and one half below. But in reality, atmospheric refraction raises the sun's disk by more than its own apparent diameter while it is rising or setting. Thus, when we see the sun as a reddish-orange ball just sitting on the horizon, we're looking at an optical illusion. It is actually completely below the horizon.
In addition to refraction hastening sunrise and delaying sunset, there is another factor that makes daylight longer than night at an equinox: sunrise and sunset are defined as the times when the first or last speck of the sun's upper limb is visible above the horizon — not the center of the disk.

...those damn illusions sure get in the way!

Hope fall comes your way soon. Glad you dropped in today!

....saving money for those in debt. And it can result in an uptick in the sale of homes (it lowers mortgage costs for buyers). However, as the rate home sales increase, sellers may raise prices, cancelling the effect out.

Raising interest rate can slow down an overheated, buying-spree market, and thus reduce exploitive price hikes — inflation. The US inflation, however, was not caused by a frenzy of buying in the marketplace, it was caused by illegal sanctions and punitive trade tariff (the total cost of which was passed on to US consumers. So the interest rate hikes did littl4e to tame inflation. Instead, the hikes harmed the middle class and poor further, and unhoused many of them. However, the interest hike doubled bank profits for the same amount of work.
