Since Joe mentioned in socialprogressive's post that he was

having power issues (likely due to hurricane Debby) consider this a poor replacement for the usual Evening Blues until or if he gets the problem fixed.

I will post a few things that I come across in the comment section.

Gotta wonder if Tony knows that they are human rights abuses and the Leahy law forbids arming those committing them?
Tony, Sullivan and Smirkula are the only reason I want Trump to win. Too bad he won’t prosecute them as is his duty.

@snoopydawg is that she isn't fully supporting Israel. He said he would give them everything they needed as long as they wanted something. Unconditional support.
I haven't heard RFK, Jr. saying a word about the rapes and torture of Palestinian prisoners. He fully supports Israel in their genocide.

Trump spouts that democrats hate Jews and that was the reason she didn’t pick Shapiro.

"Kam didn’t pick Shapiro because he’s Jewish."

Bunch of crap, but both sides play the game and blame the other for being weak on foreign policy.
One guy said that the American troops in Iraq were hit because Biden’s weak. I reminded him of when Iran bombed a base during Trump and he did nothing about it.

This is priceless. Gotta watch to the end.

The Ukrainians that invaded Kursk somehow got close to the border with 1,000 men and lots of equipment. How come Russia didn’t see them coming? Especially after they removed the mines they planted to make it harder for Ukraine to do that? Open the door, but set no guards to watch it? I have lots of questions.

Simplicious has an update on the Kursk invasion.

German tanks are once again in Kursk and rumors are that there are western mercenaries fighting with the Ukrainian invasion forces.

He also reports that Iran and Russia flew into Syria with weapons.
Also a video of Putin saying that Russia isn’t responsible for how countries that receive Russian weapons use them. Tit for tat.

I can see tonight. Had my eyes dilated which usually screws up my near vision, but now I can see what I’m writing. Back to blind tomorrow….but it was nice seeing the mountains again.

@janis b Hi Janis,

They sure look the part of the San Diego surfers... just guessin' but bet they have been on surfboards. They could be rather typical socal hippie stoner music lover types... they would fit in just as well in my Huntington and Hermosa Beach crowds.

Iron Butterfly was a San Diego band.

havae a great day!

but very few of the money has gone to fixing it. There are many foundations getting rich from it while the problem keeps getting worse. I wonder what an Audit of the organizations would find?
London Breed is offering homeless people bus tickets to other states. Those states are also offering bus tickets. Meanwhile No affordable housing is being built.

Biden reappointed Powell who raised interest rates makings buying a home unaffordable and not helping poorer families a way to buy a home like Obama gave banks money to buy up the homes they fraudulently foreclosed on. I’m so tired of this corruption.

....into the very crux of the dilemma that is bedeviling the US Plutocracy and their tap-dancing politicians — this is the video to watch (see below).

Sean Foo skillfully ties together the unexpected emergence of China suddenly at the top of global semiconductor supply chain. It's is unexpected, that is, if you are a dopey US politician who thinks that the US Congress "contained" China's progress with a "made in USA" chip embargo.

America's chip war to harm China's economy was always doomed to failure. And, Japan's Tokyo Electron just reported record chip sales and increasing profit by engaging in direct trade with China. Meanwhile, China's expanding production of next generation nuclear power plants seems to be sparking irrational fears in the West. By 2030, China will overtake France and catch up to America's nuclear power generation capacity.
.

.
The now delayed chip factories being built in the US are already too little, too late. There are no skilled fab workers in the US, so high schools, community colleges, and universities are starting from scratch to train American workers in a brand new skill. The Taiwanese, however, are in panic mode because Americans cannot adapt to Taiwan's work culture of 9, 10, 12 hour work days performing meticulous microscopic chip building in hermitically-sealed clean rooms. A test group of American workers travelled to Taiwan for training, and returned after a few months much sobered by the experience. Jobs in these massive plants in Arizona, Utah, and Texas do not at all fit the American lifestyle. The Taiwanese chip companies are very worried that the factories they are building will not perform in the US the way they do in Asia. Not at all. It's looking like another expensive, failed, anti-China mess. Like the sanctions and the proxy wars.

Meanwhile, Chinese scientists have designed compact innovative nuclear-power plants that produce cheap, safe energy. It costs just $70 per megawatt-hour in China, compared to $105 per megawatt-hour in the US and $160 in the EU. They are building Thorium-based nuclear power reactors, melt-down proof reactors, and reactors that don't require water to cool the core. These will help China become carbon neutral much sooner, and help the rest of the world transition to clean, safe, cheap energy production. China is the nation determined to solve the climate change problem for all of us.
.
The US could have advanced Thorium reactors 40 years ago, and we could have side-stepped environmental disaster — but the Plutocrats had more oil to sell and burn. So the government ignored the technology.

That’s what happens when you deliberately dumb down your education because you offshored all the jobs that needed those skilled workers. America shot itself in the head with NAFTA and other trade agreements. It certainly shows with what is happening with Boeing.
How long has America been trying to just build the Taiwanese chip building let alone finding people who can work there?

....higher wages to skilled Americans when there were still poor people in the world who would work for low wages. So, they didn't develop US workers. They always hated US Labor, post slavery. And unions (eg. communism). That's why the US never had a political party representing the social values of the Left. They invested in prisons, instead. And, to this day, they have preserved slave wages in the US for the poors. Chinese who work at McDonalds in Beijing (alongside the robots) make $22 an hour. Robots and automation make it possible to pay workers well.
