World Bicycle Day recognizes and celebrates "the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport."

Per Da Wiki,

The date is the anniversary of the Mabo v Queensland (No 2) decision by the High Court of Australia, which recognised the pre-colonial land interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within Australia's common law.[2][3] It commemorates Eddie Koiki Mabo (c. 29 June 1936–21 January 1992),[4][5] a Torres Strait Islander man whose campaign for Indigenous land rights in Australia led to the court's decision, which overturned the legal fiction of terra nullius that had characterised Australian law with regard to land and title since the voyage of James Cook in 1770.

June 3, 1943 was the first day of the 5 day Zoot Suit Riots in Los Angeles, California when white Sailors, Marines, and other racist Angelinos including off duty cops attacked and beat Mexican American, Black and Filipino American children, teenagers, and youths who were wearing Zoot Suits.

Egregious Censorship: The great KoKo Taylor once recorder a cover of the Little Milton's classic blues hit Walking The Backstreets And Crying and the first version of this OT, years ago, included it. Since that date it has been blocked as "age inappropriate", which it, of course, is not. KoKo or her producer or somebody condensed the title to simply Walking The Backstreets which appeared as the You Tube song name and, iirc, on the album cover illustration. No doubt some ignorant racist Karen saw that and immediately decided that a Black Woman singing about walking any kind of streets had to be banned, without bothering to listen to it, and the dweebs at You Tube rubber stamped the complaint, also without giving it a listen. I found another copy that sneaked by the censors because the title wasn't on the cover art and have included it both in order that you may enjoy it and so that you can appreciate how totally inappropriate the dunderheaded censorship was

@QMS Great song to celebrate Bicycle Day. I enjoy my early morning rides as a great way to start a day and even do some of my grocery shopping! Gasp! People are fascinated by my pedal assist ride and all seem to wish they could do the same. Have a great day!

pedal assist makes all the sense in the world
you still get that free wheeling feeling and have
a booster when the going gets tough
mostly flat to slight grades around here
not much in the way of smooth curbs
but not much car traffic either

“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

@Lookout
following a L4-L5 bulging tweak. I was able to resolve the issue non surgically while continuing to ride my ‘bent.

You mentioned hills. Even on my upright bikes, hills and I did not get on very well. With low enough gearing I could manage hills on the recumbent, albeit sometimes at walking speed. The recumbent is all legs. There’s no standing out of the saddle on climbs, which allows the glutes, hips and upper body to contribute some torque to the effort.

I still have it hanging in the garage (in case my back gets wonky again) but ride a nice step through all purpose upright which suits my increasingly casual approach to cycling. If anyone is making battery assist recumbents (or trikes) that could help flatten the hills.

I never asked that the judge be dismissed because of his biases. I kept thinking that this would be overturned.
But shitlibs are outraged with how Cannon is doing in the documents trial and they want her removed. Smith did get a judge to rule on it and said while there has been a thousand complaints against her there is no process to remove her.
Those complaints were filed by lay people who just filled out a form they found online.
And remember that Merchan wasn’t randomly selected, but appointed.
Stay tuned cuz this ain’t over.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Voting is like driving with a toy steering wheel.

@snoopydawg that Hunter Biden's judge, or both judges that have presided over some stage of his case, are Trump appointed Federal Judges. Long before he was charged, not specially appointed after the criminal charges were filed.
I do not like the direction lawfare is taking. 3rd world bs.
While I do believe the Biden family grifted off of Burisma, I do believe Trump has done some shady deals in his life, I think this conviction of him right now is to hurt his election chances.
Prosecute criminals for one and only one reason: seek justice if a crime has been committed.
Both Clintons lead charmed lives, don't they?

I was stuck in a mediation all damn morning, but it was successful, and the case did settle.
I switched from bicycle to motorbike in the 4th grade, never went back to the physical labor so many enjoy.
It did not rain today! May not rain tomorrow! No worries, Wednesday is Hell Day for thunderstorms day and night. Just what we don't need.
Gonna have tacos tonight, loaded up sky high with tomatoes from the garden. Sad situation? NOT!
Enjoy your trip, hope you see some birds, and that traffic is light.
Thanks for the OT, my friend!
