Mixing Myths
or
Hippity Hoppity Easter's Here Today

Open Thread Image.jpg

The spring holidays have arrived. Today is Easter, we're in the middle of Ramadan, and next month there's Passover. I was amused when our nearby town had a spat about the Easter Egg hunt in the park for the local children. Some were saying it violated the separation of church and state. My first thought was where in the Bible is an egg laying bunny that brings children candy on Easter...must be near the book of Santa. Then I saw the sign in town. The egg hunt is being sponsored by a church and will have a religious message, a faith based egg hunt? So, maybe the town council was correct. Too bad they can't just let the kids play and have fun.

This time of year I can't help but think of the Green Man as the Eastern deciduous forest begins to explode. Those clear views through the woods won't happen again till next winter. Busy season comes with the Green Man...mowing, gardening, keeping paths and trails open, and so on. Every season has its good and bad points. Won't be long till it's time to go swimming in the river, eat tomato sandwiches, and hide from the heat. Round we go on the wheel of time.

Holiday or not, it has been another busy news cycle. Cargo ships crashing into bridges, US redefining security council agreements as nonbinding, Russian advances in Ukraine, details emerging on the terrorist attacks in Moscow, Haiti propaganda, border migration into the US, farmer protests across the EU and new draconian farming laws in Oregon, record US debt levels, and more. We better get started...

ShipSteering.jpg

"This cargo ship was FILLED with HAZARDOUS chemicals and the containers have breached"
(11.5 min)
The NTSB just released their initial findings of the Baltimore bridge collapse and it's a stunning contradiction of the Biden administration. Why did President Biden come out first thing in the morning to tell us their investigation showed no signs of foul play? The NTSB didn't arrive on board until two days later. Journalist Lara Logan says her intelligence sources confirmed that this was an intentional cyber attack.

US supply chains disrupted by Baltimore bridge collapse

The four-lane bridge collapsed on Tuesday after being hit by the Singapore-registered container ship Dali, operated by Danish shipping giant Maersk. As a result of the accident, a large section of the 1.6-mile (2.6km) bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River, with multiple vehicles falling nearly 55 meters into the water.
Built in the 1970s, the Francis Scott Key Bridge spans the Patapsco River, and is the only passage connecting the US’ ninth-biggest foreign trading port to the ocean. The Port of Baltimore is the country’s busiest maritime terminal for exports of vehicles.

Wonder how long it will take to repair the bridge?
"Could it really take twice as long and four times as much money to replace the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge than it did to build it in the first place? The Key Bridge was built at a cost (adjusted for inflation) of about $200 million. Replacing it could take a decade and cost $400 million to $800 million dollars, according to experts in what has become a dismal field. “To actually recreate that whole transportation network” could take a decade or more, structural engineer Ben Schafer told USA Today on Wednesday."

Mass Migration into the US continues...

Oh Say Can You See? (Kunstler)

While the awesome spectacle of the bridge collapse traumatized the country, it also brought to mind the fantastic flow of ten-thousand illegal border crossings a day, stage-managed by the “Joe Biden” Homeland Security team. Did you kind of wonder how many in that 10K-a-day flow might be the same species of Central Asian mutts who volunteered to slaughter over 150 (so far) Russian concert-goers? Nobody is checking who they are, you realize. They just step on US soil, get issued smartphones, loaded debit cards, walking-around cash money, airplane and bus tickets and, voila, there they are in your home town tomorrow, looking for something to occupy themselves. Thanks a bunch, Alejandro Mayorkas! Are you wondering what sort of mayhem they might be capable of unleashing any place from Bangor to Burbank in the weeks and months ahead? (And, while you’re at it, think about all the food processing plant fires, train wrecks, and other mysterious tribulations around the country the past couple of years.)
Consider that this very week alone, following the SSK Bridge disaster, absolutely nothing has been done by our government to stem that flow of countless potential saboteurs into the country.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has accused the US Democratic Party of opening up the country’s borders in order to “import voters.” Earlier this week, Politico reported that President Joe Biden was considering offering permanent residency to millions of illegal immigrants. Commenting on the report, Musk declared on his X platform that “The Dem Party goal is to import voters.”

“..before long the illegal population in America will exceed in size the actual citizens of the country..”

The New York City Council is begging the New York state Supreme Court to permit the council to ignore the New York state constitution that only permits citizens to vote. The city council says that allowing illegal immigrants to vote can only strengthen democracy “by increasing civic engagement.” Think about this for a moment. For the NY City Council, the only difference between an American citizen and an illegal alien is that the alien is discriminated against by not being allowed to vote.
...
The federal government, the government of America, is using the judicial system to prevent Texas from defending its and America’s border. The obvious question is: why does the federal government represent immigrant invaders instead of American citizens, and why do federal courts come down on the side of eliminating any difference between an American citizen and an illegal invader? Why are long-established websites such as vDare.com being suppressed by government authorities simply for pointing out what is at stake? Something is seriously wrong with the mentality of the American people who clearly are incapable of recognizing that their country is being stolen from them to the point that many offer to sponsor immigrant-invaders.

Weaponizing the Legal System...

Trump derangement syndrome is not a good reason to destroy the already bias legal system in the US.
New Report Drops a Bombshell on the Whole Stormy Daniels Affair With Trump Lie

New Yorkers Silently Worrying Over Ramifications of Trump Ruling (ET)

Monday’s dramatic bond reduction for former President Donald Trump did nothing to dissipate the dark cloud that his civil-fraud case has cast over New York business deals. Although investors won’t publicly admit it, the case is having a chilling effect, said Charles Trzcinka, professor of finance at Indiana University-Bloomington. “If you talk to people in this market, they are very, very upset … and these are people who are neutral or even opposed to Trump,” Mr. Trzcinka told The Epoch Times. “They’re just angry about it.” In his role at the university, Mr. Trzcinka said he places students in the corporate lending market in New York, making him aware of trends in that sphere. An appeals court’s decision to slash the bond by about 60 percent, reducing it to $175 million, still left a massive penalty intact while President Trump continues a legal challenge of Justice Arthur Engoron’s ruling.

These people have no idea of the damage they’re doing. Completely blind hatred. Should not be allowed anywhere near a justice system.
“I have never heard of a victimless civil case that even won $500..”

Jack Smith’s Case Against Trump Appears to Be Falling Apart
(Margolis)

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s efforts to imprison Donald Trump for mishandling classified documents have hit a few snags recently, and the latest snag is, indeed, a big one. “Special Counsel Jack Smith could be blocked from using evidence against Donald Trump contained in grand jury investigation files, which were transferred to the former president’s Florida classified documents case this week, a former prosecutor has suggested,” reports Newsweek.
...
Leftists have been routinely triggered by Judge Cannon’s rulings—probably because she’s not a rabid leftist like Judge Engoron, who literally ruled that Trump should pay a civil fine of nearly half a billion dollars for a non-crime with no victim. Jack Smith’s prosecution of Trump has been widely criticized as selective prosecution, especially in light of the release of the Hur report last month, which found that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” and that his actions “present[ed] serious risks to national security.

Looks like these lawfare cases are falling apart.

When you don’t take it as “News”, the MSM is a delight. Take the new Trump gag order, “barring Mr Trump from attacking court staff and their family members”. What happened is Judge Merchan’s daughter uses a pic of Trump behind bars as her avatar. But he cannot say now that that is inappropriate.
“Contrary to the People’s suggestion, the Court cannot ‘direct’ President Trump to do something that the gag order does not require..”
Another gem: “Ms Willis had described Mr Wade as a “trusted friend..”
Michael Cohen boinked Stormy Daniels and paid her for it using Trump’s money. When that ran out, he claimed it was “hush money”. The paper trail was already there. Does that sound about right?

Rule by Criminals: When Dissidents Become Enemies of the State
When exposing a crime is treated as committing a crime, you are being ruled by criminals.
In the current governmental climate, obeying one’s conscience and speaking truth to the power of the police state can easily render you an “enemy of the state.”
The government’s list of so-called “enemies of the state” is growing by the day.
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is merely one of the most visible victims of the police state’s war on dissidents and whistleblowers.

The Crucifixion of Julian Assange (Chris Hedges)
British courts for five years have dragged out Julian Assange's show trial. He continues to be denied due process as his physical and mental health deteriorates. This is the point.

The Most Astounding Feature of the Assange Case (Paul Craig Roberts)

The most extraordinary thing about Julian Assange is that he is being treated as if he were an American citizen. “Treason” was the original cry, now converted to “espionage.” There was no espionage. Wikileaks published, and made available to the New York Times, The Guardian, and other media organizations leaked information. The media organizations published the information, just as did Wikileaks, but they are not charged. Neither is Wikileaks charged. Only Julian Assange is charged. Nothing is any different from Ellsberg releasing the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times. The US government wanted to prosecute both, but was prevented by the First Amendment and long-accepted duty of media organizations to hold government accountable. The stark deterioration in the protective power of the First Amendment and journalistic freedom since 1971 demonstrates the rise in tyranny. Tyranny is what Julian Assange is experiencing, not a legitimate prosecution.
...
The orchestrated, in fact legally incorrect, case against Assange is based on nothing but Washington’s demand for revenge. Here is what Assange is guilty of: He released leaked information that showed conclusively that the United States government is a liar, a deceiver of its allies, and a war criminal. The purpose of the case against Assange is to pay him back and to intimidate all journalists from ever again publishing information unfavorable to the US government.

Now who is the criminal?

"Julian Assange was just thrown a massive curve ball" Stella Assange (12 min)
A court ruled that Julian Assange cannot be extradited to the U.S. unless the U.S. provides assurances that he will be well treated while in custody. That does not sound encouraging but Assange had been hanging by a thread, ready to be extradited to the U.S. on this ruling. Assange's lawyer and wife Stella Assange joins us to explain what this means and what there is or isn't for Assange, journalists and a free press.

Julian is merely a symptom of the censorship industrial complex.

Gaza...the Genocide Continues

United States 'Mocking' International Law, Creating 'World of the Jungle'

The Biden administration made waves on Monday when its delegation to the UN abstained during a Security Council vote calling for a ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip. The act was significant as the US has vetoed three previous resolutions with similar language.
The passage of the statement raised hopes that violence could finally come to an end in the enclave as Israel’s nearly seven month-long operation has left over 32,000 Palestinians dead, most of them thought to be civilians.
But the US immediately backpedaled in the hours since, insisting the Security Council resolution is "non-binding." The Biden administration’s statements have caused analysts like Elijah Magnier to conclude the country is using the UN merely to manage its relationship with Israel, damaging the authority of international law and threatening world peace in the process.
...the Americans are cherry picking who can implement international laws and who cannot.” “When the United Nations Security Council is told by a permanent member, i.e., the US, that this binding resolution is non-binding, then we have a serious problem worldwide

The US loves to redefine the "rules based order" to suit itself.

Abstain.jpg

The smell of hypocrisy...
Polling has consistently shown that the majority of American voters think the US should push for a ceasefire.
Favorability for Israel is strongest among Republicans, with 64% approving Israel’s assault on Gaza in the latest poll. Only 29% of Independents and 18% of Democrats said they approved Israel’s campaign.
...
The Biden administration has consistently opposed the idea of a ceasefire in Gaza unless it’s linked to a hostage deal. But even in that case, both the US and Israel say any truce would be temporary and have rejected Hamas’s offer to negotiate a permanent ceasefire.

The Moscow Terrorist Attack
Washington Crossed a Fatal Red Line with the Crocus Attack (PCR)
Gilbert Doctorow Now Confirms with his own analysis my prediction that Putin’s toleration of provocations is spinning the Ukraine conflict out of control. Doctorow is a careful analyst never overstating a situation. In this interview he says that the FSB statement implicating the US and UK governments in the Crocus attack had to have been approved by Putin and that implicating the US and UK in the Crocus attack has brought us to the level of danger of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Doctorow reports that Russian television has undergone a massive change following the Crocus attack. Commentators are unwilling to accept any longer Putin’s nonresponse to attacks on Russians. Television talk is suddenly very violent with talk of flattening Kharkiv and Kiev and bringing a quick end to the conflict that has been permitted to endure for far too long. It seems that a fatal red line has been crossed.

Moscow Terror Attack | Russian FSB says US, UK and Ukraine behind Moscow attack | What's the truth? (13 min)
The director of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, said on Tuesday that the US, UK, and Ukraine were behind the Moscow concert hall attack that killed at least 139 people on Friday - despite repeated claims of responsibility by Islamic State. Russian president has also insisted on alleged Ukrainian involvement. No proof has been provided for these claims (yet)...

Statements By Alexander Bortnikov, Director of FSB (Doctorow)
What Bortnikov had to say was extraordinary and bears directly on whether you and I should now be looking for bomb shelters. Regrettably you will not find any of it in the lead stories of today’s mainstream media. The Financial Times, for example, features an account of Xi’s meeting with CEOs of American businesses to mend ties: interesting, but not very relevant if we are at the cusp of WWIII.

Some are suggesting Nuland's departure is tied to the terrorist attack.

Russian media has revealed new links between the Ukraine regime and last week’s horrific terrorist attack at a concert venue outside Moscow. “Investigators have verified information that large amounts of money and cryptocurrency that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack received trace back to Ukraine,” reported the Tass news agency Thursday. “The funds were used in preparing the crime.” As the increasingly desperate Kiev regime launches attacks on Russian civilians in Belgorod and other regions, speculation has intensified that elements within Ukraine’s military and intelligence service may have played a role in last Friday’s incident.

Farmer Protest
I've always thought we need a multitude of small farmers to provide locally produced food. Seems TPTB want just the opposite.

FOOD SECURITY WARNING: US Farmers PANIC as Farmers Protests SPREAD Across Europe (9 min)

It is coming to the US...
Small Farms in Oregon Suffer as New CAFO Definitions Threaten Livelihoods
At the core of the upheaval are two contentious issues: the expanded definition of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) and stringent water usage restrictions. These regulations have placed an undue burden on small farmers, many of whom are now facing the threat of closure due to what they view as overreaching government intervention.

As Oregon enforces its water use requirements, small farmers face the consequences
This is Oak Song Farm, a property located off Lorane Highway near Eugene, with just over half an acre dedicated to agriculture. For seven years, del Campo has used well water to grow vegetables here, which she’s sold at farmers markets and to her neighbors. She said that’s been her primary source of income.
“It’s like a convenience store,” said del Campo. “People can stop in. I see a lot of people come on Sunday mornings to grab fixings for breakfast.”
However, everything changed last September. That’s when Oak Song Farm received a letter from the regional office of the Oregon Water Resources Department. It was a notification that the farm couldn’t irrigate its commercial crops without a water right.
Del Campo said this came as a complete surprise. Today, she said her business has been essentially destroyed. “I don’t know why growing food is illegal,” she said. “That’s what doesn’t make sense to me.”

Will TPTB require registering gardens or a backyard flock? That's the direction it seems they are going. Fortunately we're not there yet. Currently the registration is voluntary...

The USDA does not require Americans to register gardens for growing produce. It has a voluntary registration program for community gardens called the People’s Garden Initiative, but that program does not include gardens on private property.

Control the food, control the people.

It is nice to see some young people make a successful career out of farming. I found this family's story encouraging.

Here's an unusual piece from MoA this morning...
Easter echoes the eons old human festivity to celebrate the arrival of spring. The dark and cold days of winter are gone. The bright time of fertility has come.

Today's fertility symbols of Easter, the egg and the hare, relate to the old Germanic fertility goddess Eostre (Ostara). Another related goddess is Ishtar, a Mesopotamian representation of love, who stepped down into the underworld of death but was revived. The Christian resurrection of Jesus is probably a transformation of this older tale.

When the Christian message spread from its eastern Mediterranean origin its incorporation of old local gods and fables helped to convert the multi-theistic societies to the new monotheistic believe. The gods of the pre-Christian religions were not completely discarded but their tales were transformed to support the message the Christian preachers were spreading.

It is finally spring, the darkness has vanished and this is my favored holiday.

Look from this height whereon we find us
Back to the town we have left behind us,

Where from the dark and narrow door
Forth a motley multitude pour.

They sun themselves gladly and all are gay,
They celebrate Christ's resurrection to-day.

For have not they themselves arisen?
From smoky huts and hovels and stables,
From labor's bonds and traffic's prison,
From the confinement of roofs and gables,
From many a cramping street and alley,
From churches full of the old world's night,
All have come out to the day's broad light.
...
How it hums o'er the fields and clangs from the steeple!
This is the real heaven of the people,
Both great and little are merry and gay,
I am a man, too, I can be, to-day.

@DonMidwest The justification for war is theft of treasure. Period.
On very rare occasions, it is for location. Still, location gives an advantage to battle, making the theft of treasure easier and less likely to cost lives in the thief's military.
The canal to compete with the Suez is already mapped out, underground bombs in place. The oil fields have not been attacked, and are in pristine condition for drilling.

Over a year ago I noticed his comments and started saving some of them. A few months ago he started a substack which mostly consists of Russian posts. The long sessions with Putin that go on for hours are outstanding. He goes from particle physics to family support in various venues. I asked Karl Sanchez - was I falling into an ideological trap? Russia seems to be doing things that are impossible here in the good old USA. He has been following Russia and yes, they are doing better every day and the support for Putin is real. Putin has been going slowly in Ukraine to not stir up a big reaction from the US/NATO and unlike the US, he doesn't want to destroy the country.

A few weeks ago on Moon of Alabama, the article was based on as I recall, a Canadian commentator who had been silent for several months and finally wrote an article "Listen to what he says", or was it "read what he says" linking to Putin's words and more generally words from Russians. For them language is important. For us, language is simply another resource to be mined into sound bites for political food.

I have not looked at this site for a few months. The Weekly Review is where I am. I already spend too much time on the computer and am in overload. I often will have 100 open tabs on 4 browsers and will make a mistake and close one of the browser windows and loose the tabs. Or even accidently delete a bunch of bookmarks.

Now that I am on a roll, I will mention that in the last 2 years with intermittent fasting, diet change, exercise, etc., I am off the 4 medications and doing very well at age 81.

Covid got me into taking responsibility for my health leading to several books and many session topics, or information/leaning videos. I can only get to a portion of them. Diet is an ongoing challenge of sorting out various claims and living with a spouse who still believes in CDC, FDA, etc.

On top of that the rapid decline of the US empire with too much time on Moon of Alabama and twitter. And hanging out with some Republicans and even far right folks who believe strange things.

I attended the flccc.net conference at the start of Feb 2024 which was a time I could be myself. People were open. They were there to learn, not protect their boundaries.

Lately been spending a lot of time to figure out how to work with CPAP. I have been on a CPAP for 13 years and a couple of years ago I figured out that the doctors are sleep technicians, pushing a device that is covered by Medicare. Alzheimer's' folks and other practitioners have made a really big deal about the importance of sleep. I went to the web and found self help sites. The one I started with is MyApnea and there also ApneaBoard (like message board). There are 4 numbers displayed on my AirSense 10 device: duration, mask leakage, apnea events and number of mask off/on. This is focused on you spending more time on the mask. My sleep doctors have only said use the machine. They have not mentioned the basics: dark room, cool, no electronics in the room, eat 3 hours before bed time, etc. When mentioning the book "Why We Sleep" it is like I was an anti-vaxer. Rejected so did not even start a conversation.

From the web found that software OSCAR which uses the memory card in the AirSense to give 14 graphs and indication which of the 4 types of apnea are involved. I have been sending screen shots and dialogue of fifty messages so far and am making progress. As far as I know, the actual data in the machine is not sent over the data link to the doctors - another area of corruption or maybe justified by data security of such a volume of data - in any case I never knew it existed.

***
Oh well, jus started typing. Am in overload on the web. Behind in even the video series I paid for relative to health. Sorta keeping up with the collapse of the empire and the emerging multipolar world,

all of this is why I am not here on a regular basis. This would be a happy home for me, but I am afraid of getting hooked. I have for the first time in my life enacted lifestyle changes for health reasons but this site is too good to be true for me at this time. I am glad to see my old friends from Daily Kos days continuing the good fight.

I plan to get back into politics to get RFK jr in the ballot here in Ohio.

@Lookout @Lookout @Lookout My wife sent me the link to the Fortune article. She is no longer calling friends to warn them that I have gone off the deep end about Covid and she still trusts FDA, CDC, etc. I brought her in to look over my shoulder at the article on the FDA removing its propaganda against Ivermectin and she walked off, under her breath saying, conspiracy theory. Politics involves controversy and it starts at home.

An MD I follow sometimes, Syed Haider, in a recent tweet noted hat it takes a 4 hour consult for someone to understand why life style change is warranted. Since this is private pay, this could cost $2,000. An example of how much is involved to bring about lifestyle changes.

The Covid disaster broke my faith in the medical system. The ongoing, exploding awareness of the crime of a country's diet poisoning itself and once medical failure cannot be reversed. But hthat is great news for sellers of drugs, dialysis, care centers: an ongoing stream of revenue for the Medical cartel.

One of the web sites I have followed faithfully is flccc.net. Dr. Paul Marik has a score of over 100 on a research scale where typical Nobel Prize winners score between 30 and 40. I was already fasting but when his video came out in Sept 2022, it was a turning point for me. Paul was a Type II diabetic who had been on prescription drugs for 25 years. And his health intervention reversed his diabetes. I had never been aware of reversing conditions like this. I am watching a video series about reversing Alzheimer's.

I am responsible for my health. I can avoid the metabolic diseases which are at base of many of the long term illnesses. For example, Alzheimer's is sometimes called Type III diabetes. The following video was the turning point. Now that I know that many other chronic diseases can be prevented and even turned around, this video does not now have the shock value for me.

Robert Lufkin spoke at the flccc.net conference last Feb. His is a full professor at both UCLA and USC and his book which comes out in June is titled "Lies I Taught My Students in Medical School." He was taking drugs for four chronic conditions which have now been reversed. He points out the difference between chronological age and biological age.

Biological Age:
* Measures how well your physiological systems are functioning
* Can be reversed by attending to your health
* Is the most important component in the aging process

@DonMidwest
at FLCCC. I beat Paul Merik to the low carb fasting approach by a few years thanks to our old friend OPOL. I'm glad he's reversing his T2 diabetes.

Here on C99 we combed through the research and mostly ended up on the same page thanks to the FLCCC, Dr John, Peter McCullough, Robert Malone, and many others.

Best dietary lectures I've discovered are on the public health collaboration and Low Carb down under.

And I'm sure with you on this:

The Covid disaster broke my faith in the medical system.

Be well!

@DonMidwest A patient gets on some medicine. That medicine causes a side effect. The patient then has to take 2 prescriptions. Then, the number of prescriptions explodes.
I have clients on psyche meds, and they take as many as 8 different prescription pills daily.
There is no money to be made curing a disease. The money is in treatment of the symptoms, and there might be numerous symptoms. Pharma rewarding drs. for getting a number of patients on their product would be bribery in other professions, not "incentive bonuses".
There seems to be controversy in diet and fasting regimens. Hell, there are "experts" that say being fat is just fine, and exercise is not healthy! You haven't been around, but I have mentioned that my probate case load has exploded since 2021. It is by far my biggest legal practice area. Sudden deaths, turbo cancers, strokes, young folks dying...it is the new normal.
We are now being tasked with being better researched on our health so we can argue with our damn drs.!
I am so glad you have taken over your primary responsibility for your health and that it is working so well for you.

@Lookout @Lookout and compliant drs., are mounting the war on fasting and other dietary protocols that do not enrich them and producers of poisoned processed food. My secretary bemoaned a fact this week: Nothing we eat is not poisoned, is it? Somebody wants us dead, don't they?
Well, we are not millionaires or billionaires, after all. We are useless eaters, iirc.
Dore and the gang handled that issue extremely well.

@DonMidwest

....post I've read in a long time. Even though you haven't been here, we are definitely on the same wavelength. I do believe that there is a collective consciousness (or wavelength) that forms among mindful people who have shared events, interests, concerns, and relationships. Even after they separate, they remain connected by ideas and discoveries. I too have followed a similar path of learning, post-Covid. My research interest is in the continuance of yearly excess deaths (non-respiratory) around the world that are unrelated to vaccines (or to lack thereof). Most of the excess deaths result from an acceleration of the diseases of aging. There are many potential causes for that, and there could be an overarching cause in the natural world, itself, in reaction to the aggressively explosive size of the human overpopulation that occurred during the past century. The planet has no natural infrastructure to support such a demanding bloat. So, the planet and all living things are directly threatened bu human overpopulation. Nature will find a way to fight back.

Many people here also subscribe to Karloff's substack. I have found it so illuminating and I an grateful he stepped forward with his expertise. We all have expertise to share, and it will flow if we tap into it. I am in the process of developing a hypothesis that by extending the span of youthful vitality an adult human by an additional 50 years (thus delaying the aging process) most of the suffering we see today can be eradicated by the utilization of wisdom based on extended experience. Scientific research in iife-span extension ("conscious" evolution) is currently underway in any event, whether I hypothesize about it or not. It's the only bridge to survival for our species (which seems doomed to become extinct because if its own dumb).

Thanks for the update and your story. And thanks for the references and links I plan to explore them all. I am grateful to those who responded to you with stories and links of their own. This place is a goldmine for the intellectually honest crowd.

@Lookout I was intending to get the water hose, and soak the ground. Some weeds come up easily, others have roots that are 4 to 10 inches long, growing straight down into the ground. Without some help, I can't pull those out. I am only a bad ass in my mind. Lol!

and were hand-weeding the entire property (which had been badly neglected for decades), we learned some things.

1. Thistle, and in particular Canada thistle, has a taproot that is no less than half its above-surface height. Strong gloves, strong boots, and a pair of Vice-Grips are helpful (and recent precip is essential).

2. Yucca grows from a rhizome, and the mother plant is not on your property.

3. The mother plant is not on your continent.

4. The mother plant may not be on your *planet*.

The best approach I found for clearing yucca out of a high-desert “hayground” is to bring a little trailer out behind the tractor, with a big cooler of ranch water. Using a Pulaski tool, chop the yucca about 6” below the surface. Discard onto the trailer. Deliver 1 or 2 (seriously) drops of Tordon or Milestone (Or hell, Roundup, since this is *war*) directly on to the exposed, chopped, oozing rhizome. Lather, rinse, repeat. In 20 years, you’ll either be bankrupt, or you will get hay that you might be willing to feed.

When we first started, I used to just use a llama as a pack animal to go out and do this. And my pack buddy, whose official registered name was Coup d’Etat, just looked at me with an expression that could only be interpreted as “You poor dumb putz....”. We did that for a couple years, 5 or 6 trips a day. And then the tractor and a flatbed for a couple years, and then we lost it all.

The yucca is still there. Coup, bless his heart, was still laughing at me on the morning he didn’t wake up. He had a great, and very wise, sense of humor. And to the best of my knowledge, he hasn’t stopped laughing yet.

Bad politicians are very much like yucca. You have to find the mother plant, and you ain’t gonna. The yucca, as they say, will win. That is all.

Twice bitten, permanently shy.

@usefewersyllables Childhood memory was an enormous oak tree on the town square, covered with wisteria. When it bloomed, it drew people from cities to come take photos of this beauty. The wisteria did not choke out or harm the tree in any way. I set out one wisteria plant along my yard fence, made of wire, thinking it would form a flower wall in season, which it did for maybe 5 years. Then, I learned the hard way it spread in rhizomes, have been battling it for over 20 years. Mother plant has been removed, a thousand little mothers are showing up.
The other beautiful pest is Mexican petunias. Pink flowered ones are good. No spread at all. Blue flowered ones will spread to every place there is soil. I battle them all the time. Maybe 3 pots of them were planted. i yank up hundreds of the bastards every spring. Roots go deep, actually a job for a stout guy, not me, the classic weakling wuss.
I owned an 11 acre field for hay, and rented 33 acres from a family friend for about 12 years. Not sure what weed killer we used back then, but it wasn't Roundup. I was growing hay for my cows and horses, got 3 or 4 cuts a year, even when we were in a 9 year drought.
I lost the lease, had to sell my cattle, then sold the 11 acres to make a down payment for my office downtown. I am no stranger to taking a pick, shovel, wheelbarrow, and setting fire to piles of giant thorn bushes. My thorn bushes were your yucca. We both basically lost our farms, different ways, different reasons. I miss it to this day, 25 yrs later, and I know you do, too.

Hi all, Hey LO!

Hope it's all good out there! Thanks for the great WW and OT!

Wanted to comment on the statement in the first meme that 'modern container ships do not lose steering when they lose power'. This is false. These big modern ships are fly-by-wire. The commands at the bridge are sent electronically to the drives and rudders. The rudders also need electricity to work. No power means no steering. This is not the old direct ropes or cables to a wheel days. Smile

@Lookout Hi LO!

good tune...

Yeah 'time will tell', has so far failed us getting the truth about so much at this point, I have my doubts... If we do get it, it is most likely to come from non-official sources, outside the MSM/NewsGuard bubble. Who's job seems to be to guard us from the news. Smile

We had a nesting resident pair of Eastern Phoebe for 8 years here. Lost them in the last couple years. It has been said Eastern PHoebe was the first bird ever banded in the U.S. This was before bird bands as we know them today. It was John James Audubon himself. Wanting to know if the Phoebes that nested at his place in Jersey were the same each year. So he caught one and tied a thin piece of silver thread around one leg. The next spring he proved that indeed as he suspected, it was the same birds returning to nest at the same site each year.

If we ever get yer way, or you ours, holler! Wink

@Lookout

Most of the rest of the world did not have access to the mRNA vaccines. There are many different kinds of vaccines produced for non-wealthy nations. Many nations used no vaccines at all. A majority of nations used Ivermectin as a treatment. But all nations experienced excess non-covid deaths. In some investigations of excess deaths, Covid, itself, is not counted as an excess death, but set aside as a pandemic death.

Covid, itself, triggers dozens of deadly diseases (cancers, diabetes, organ failure) and conditions that occur after patients fully recover from Covid. These diseases kill rapidly. I am looking at those types of deaths in excess reported by countries, whether or not the patient received any of the 70 or so different kinds of vaccines that were available to them.

There is a subclass of patients, mostly from Western countries, who die of causes unrelated to Covid after receiving the mRNA vaccine. They may have never had Covid. I believe those are the deaths you are concerned with. In those patients, if the cause of death is list as a disease that happens to exceed the number of expected deaths for that year, they could be part of the excess death count, globally; and certainly part of the US excess death count.

I don't think we disagree about anything in general. I think we are focused on different types and categories of the same data.
