I think there was one R and one D. They could not agree on anything.
Back and forth with the same sounding hoots. Over and over.
Kinda cool to listen to.

We often enjoy an owl concert. Such a variety of them here from the small screech owl to the large Great Horned.

We're still looking for a regular Sat OT host(ess). Some of my favorite OT's featured postings of art and artists, poem of the day, music genre' or musician, bird of day would be fun, or some other simple theme/format. Hope one of you will consider the task.

Agree with the idea of a simple posting. Comments come in from all directions
and the thread takes on a life of its own. Can appreciate how much effort you
put into the Sunday Watch. Two OT's a week is a bit much for me.

Biden has promised that he would take action 3 years in a row and he makes it obviously that they are empty promises.

This is the dem playbook going back to Clinton. Obama promised to codify abortion rights and it was his first priority….once he got in he said it wasn’t a priority.

Biden promised that if voters send the right people to congress he will codify abortion rights….last election Pelosi and Schumer went out of their way to re-elect Cueller who is anti abortion. Hillary selected Tim Kaine, and anti abortion as her VP. You think democracy give a hoot about abortion? Can you be that stupid? If democrats catch the abortion car then what will they run and campaign on? Saving social security?

Schumer and others ‘progressive democrats are pushing for Medicare Advantage to replace regular Medicare. Both parties want it privatized. Schumer, Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, ect have been in congress for 4-5 decades and they have worked to make our lives less secure every year. Since Clinton they have been trying to destroy the new deal and they have almost succeeded. Slowly, but Shirley government has made life much more difficult to survive.

Dad used to work 8 hours 5 days a week while mom stayed home to raise the kids, got 2 weeks vacation spent at their 2nd home, had decent medical care….. and now?

Why did we keep electing the people who were doing this to us and why didn’t we see it earlier that they were? Remember it was a dem president that got NAFTA, welfare reform, the crime bill and many other horrible legislation passed that republicans couldn’t because of the dem base objected. Obama ruined the housing market for the next generation and he destroyed the medical system as we knew it.

Democrats say we must vote for them to save democracy. Pffft. I want them to fix the economy so people don’t need to work themselves to death.

difficult, I wouldn't be able to post them! Lol!
OTs are the place where commenters mention whatever topic or idea came to their minds. Most members do not write essays, but need a good place to share comment content and start an engaging back and forth. I encourage site members to consider doing an OT and devote a little time to keep the exchange of ideas flowing.
I have some free time this afternoon, and intend to watch some videos from the ebs. We went to a Mexican food restaurant last evening that hasn't gotten the memo to inflate their prices. We had a huge meal, and enough leftovers for another meal this evening. $38.00. The best corn tortillas evah!
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

I have no trouble generating a topic to open an OT and putting together some sentences and paragraphs, and I flunked English twice in High School.
Spellcheck is the holy grail for me.
As Barbara Wawa used to say " Discuss amongst yourselves".

A ship carrying aid for Gaza will leave Cyprus in the next 24 hours on a trial run along a new humanitarian sea corridor, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides said late Saturday.

A vessel belonging to the Spanish charity Open Arms will be ferrying food aid collected by the U.S. charity World Central Kitchen, as the EU and its partners attempt to open up a new avenue for getting urgently needed assistance to the besieged Gaza Strip.

“The ship will leave Larnaca in the next 24 hours. I cannot say the specific time for security reasons,” Christodoulides told reporters late Saturday.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday visited the Cypriot port of Larnaca, the starting point of the corridor, and said that the operation might start as early as this weekend.

Cyprus, which is the closest EU member to Israel and the Palestinian territories, first presented the idea of the sea corridor last year. In December, it was announced that a ship with aid had left for Gaza but eventually had to offload aid for Gaza in neighboring Egypt.

Christodoulides didn’t specify where the ship will anchor to unload the aid. The hope is that the supplies can help alleviate the dire humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where the United Nations says the population is suffering from “catastrophic hunger” after more than five months of conflict.

Analysts said that, even if this pilot run is successful, the sea corridor won’t become operational until a planned temporary dock is constructed by the U.S. The American military estimates that will take two months.

As far as I can tell the aid coming from Cyprus seems to be loading on a small barge which will do little to help the famine caused by Israel with unlimited support from Genocide Joe.

Sweden and Canada have said they will resume aid payments to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

They were among 16 countries that paused funds after Israel accused at least 12 UNRWA staff of involvement in the 7 October attack by Hamas.

The UN is investigating, and France's foreign minister is leading a review.

Sweden said on Saturday it would send 200 million kronor (£15m; $19m) initially, after UNRWA agreed to more checks on its spending and staff.

"The government has allocated 400 million kronor to UNRWA for the year 2024. Today's decision concerns a first payment of 200 million kronor," it said in a statement.

It comes after Canada said on Friday that it would re-start funding for UNRWA while investigations into the agency's staff continue.

I saw one wild turkey, herd another one gobbling. Lots of doves. At night around here, their are always owls calling out somebody for something.
We will drive the 5 miles going in relative sunlight and can spot the deer before we hit them with the car. Coming home, we will drive very slowly. They seem to be drawn to headlights!

This is another one of those stories about Israeli offenses that are so stunning that at first you can mistakenly believe you must not be reading it correctly — especially since the western political-media class haven’t been treating it like the jarring news that it is. If we had anything remotely like an objective news media in the western world, reports that Israel tortured United Nations staff to get them to make false statements against a UN aid agency would be the top story everywhere for days.

Maybe if Israel was called Russia there would be consequences for their actions. They have broken every international law in the book and then some. I think that answers the question whether Israel has a right to exist.

Notice how Biden, et al never say that Palestinians have the right to defend themselves from what Israel has been doing to them since Jews arrived in the area.

Shitlibs discussed how much worse Trump would be if he beat Biden. Well by the time Trump gets elected most Palestinians will either be dead or pushed into the Sinai desert because Biden allowed Israel to continue its murderous right to defend itself! Sadly this is a bipartisan agreement.

@snoopydawg -- especially if one limits the focus to foreign policy -- as down there with James Buchanan, who did not feel he could stop the US civil war, and whose Secretary of War John B. Floyd scattered vast caches of weaponry in places in the South where the Confederates could seize them, before himself becoming an incompetent Confederate general. Or maybe Biden will be ranked with George W. Bush...
