Another wet one. Trade day was sparse to say the least, but got the grocery shopping done.

Planting a few more cabbage today, the over wintered ones are almost ready for harvest as is broccoli.

I just want to emphasize that hosting an OT is pretty easy. Lots of us can help if anyone has an interest.

anyone(else) having difficulty

it happens with twitter occasionally
from tae but this is the first time
I’m getting this from a rumble host site

I was just going to ad my support for the idea that an OT didn't need to be a lot of work; all it needs is "Open Thread" and "Post stuff below". It is, however, also an opportunity to have your own dedicated spot to post your own ramblings, photos of your kid's art, or anything else that suits you.

I already wrote this but lost it, can't recall the rest. I guess I'll add that a picture is worth a thousand words. (Hint)

It was really nice of you to do a stand in this morning.
I hope someone gives the OT gig a try. I promise it is easier than you'd think, and having back and forth chats with commenters about every subject known to mankind is fun and informative, a foundation plank for a blog.
I intend to do a bit of grocery shopping this afternoon, will see what new shrinkflation packaging I see.
Since cereal for the dinner meal is now being encouraged, I figure some cereal boxes will be much smaller than last month.
lacrosse in the rain sounds about as fun as a trip to the dentist's office, but maybe i am just not that into sports?

a heckuva boot maker there. Most memorably, out dry camping in what is now the Mojave National Preserve I ran across a dude who had busted something in his spiffy SUV type thing, so I hauled his ass all the way into Needles in my raggedy old C-10 so he could get a part for it. Waited outside the parts store for an hour or two and then gassed up and hauled him back to east nowhere out in the Providence Mtns somewhere,

@QMS when I travel. "Train to Marrakesh" while in Morocco, "I saw the Rains in Africa" while being rained on during a morning safari in S. Africa, and "I've Never been to Spain" ( laughing "until now!" while touring Spain..
Can't come up with a "I Love Lacrosse in the Cold Rain" ditty, but bet there is one out there.

for the last two weeks I have been down and out with Covid, but am feeling a lot better now and the most recent home self-test was negative.

All precautions are lifted in the Netherlands so, in the days before returning to Germany by train, I could have caught it anywhere where there were lots of people sharing air.

(CNN) — The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a derailment involving three Norfolk Southern trains in eastern Pennsylvania on Saturday, NTSB spokesperson Sarah Taylor Sulick said.

The freight train wreck occurred along the Lehigh River in Lower Saucon Township, just east of Allentown, causing multiple container cars to leave the tracks and two locomotives to roll over onto the river’s embankment.

There were no reported injuries or leaks of hazardous materials, Sulick said. An NTSB team of experts in train operations, signals and train control, mechanical systems, and human performance was expected to arrive later Saturday.

“Preliminary information indicates that an eastbound NS train struck a stopped NS train on the same track,” Sulick said in the an NTSB statement. “The wreckage from the striking train spilled onto an adjacent track and was struck by a westbound NS train. The collision led to the derailment of an unknown number of cars.”

The Federal Railroad Administration said it was working with emergency responders and local authorities, as well as assisting the NTSB in the investigation of Saturday’s derailment.

Emergency personnel at the scene just after 7 a.m. found diesel fuel had spilled, Lower Saucon Police Chief Thomas H. Barndt told reporters Saturday morning. Containment booms were deployed to clean up the spill.

“There was also a spill of polypropylene plastic pellets from one of the derailed rail cars,” the police chief said.

According to your quote from ktvz, an eastbound train struck a stopped train, and spilled onto the westbound tracks. Whereupon a westbound train struck the wreckage. How the hell did that happen? Was there no one to tell the engineers that a train was stopped ahead? I guess not. That would take hiring more people!

U.S. Central Command and the Royal Jordanian Air Force conducted a combined humanitarian assistance airdrop into Gaza, CENTCOM said in a statement. A defense official told CBS News three U.S. C-130 cargo planes dropped 66 total bundles, equating to about 38,000 pork-free meals, into the territory on Saturday morning.

It is likely written by the same propagandists who are pushing a potential ceasefire.

The United States says Israel has essentially endorsed a framework for a proposed Gaza ceasefire and captive release deal, and it is now up to the Palestinian group Hamas to agree to it.

“Right now, the ball is in the camp of Hamas,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The announcement comes a day before talks to reach a truce agreement are expected to resume in Egypt.

Yesterday the American puppet, Wood voted against condemning Israel for massacring a hundred Palestinians who were looking for food. But where are hell are the Arab countries? Iran, the Saudis and others can stop selling oil to America and Israel. What are Russia and China doing to stop this? Lula has cut ties with Israel…Jordan and Turkey haven’t although Ederogon makes lots of noise.

Yemen, South Africa, Brazil are the only ones trying to stop Israel. How many countries are sitting on their asses? Israel is going to support Ukraine because they say Russia is working with Hezzbolah and Hamas. Will Putin still sit on his ass while Israel bombs Syria and whomever else they want? Lots of countries signed on to the genocide convention…. And they are watching one happening live.
