The little guys a natural. Looks like a future championship surfer to me.
I do like living here but it is expensive. And crowded. It's the price you pay to live in paradise.

I've done body surfing, too. Also skim boarding and boogie boarding.
Beautiful Mexican Poppies. I see California Poppies when I'm out on my morning walk. I love their orange color.

Great surf shots SP! Love the Sea Lion body surfing. I lived with a couple surfers for a while, been up on a board a few times but much preferred body surfing. No worries about getting hit on the head by a board.

I never had the poster but I have seen the movie about a half dozen times. Excellent cinematography and even better narration by Bruce Brown.

I live. LOL. The only scenery here is the ocean(s) if you stay off the barrier islands during storm season. I'm a major waterbug, too. Saw The Endless Summer and had the iconic movie poster. I watched a lot of surfing stuff cos I love looking at the ocean. The surfers who took on the 40-plus ft. big waves.....I figured they had a death wish. No way, would I dare the ocean! I used to body surf, too. Too spasmodic to attempt a board. Great pics as usual. You all take care. Rec'd!!

I remember a while back you were have problems with your home. I hope your recovery is going well and your home is livable again. Thanks for the links. Lacanau looks like great place to spend a day, week, month, year at the beach.

Surfing is not a sport I know much about. While mon mari and moi had to be away from our house to let toxins begin to dissipate, we travelled extensively in France for a year.

We finally came to the Atlantique coast at Hossegar. North of Biarritz.

You Tube won't let me connect directly at the moment, but the URL takes us to a video from October 2023 narrated by an Irishman. Shows the area well.
ETA: welp there are several bits about New Testament and Jesus and how strangers would be treated and general comments on Christianity. OK...apologies but the footage from drone and gopro are excellent.

Then we travelled up coast and stayed for over three months at Lacanau (lack-a-noe) Océan. We had no idea what surfing culture is like until we stayed there surrounded by surfers from everywhere.
INcredibly crowded in season, but very quiet over Winter

We walked five kilometres daily, rain, shine, snow, wind. For recovery of our lungs damaged by toxins in and around our French homestead.

Our Birds currently are three types of Messanges (Chickadees US or Tits UK) Chardonneray Eleganté (Goldfinch UK) and Verdier. They love fat balls especially when it's cold out.
