Lindsey Graham: maybe it's South Carolina logic?
So, yeah, the Russians brought down a drone which was spying upon territory occupied by Russia. The video below gives us the response of Lindsey Graham, senator from everyone's fave state South Carolina, to this incident. Don't worry: you will only have to see the first twenty seconds to get the point:
Here's what Scott Ritter has to say about Lindsey Graham's comment.
Ritter moves on to discuss Marco Rubio's comment to the same effect.
Now, to be sure, there was a rather prominent book written by Robert Scheer back in titled "With Enough Shovels" which argued that the first Reagan administration's cabinet thought the US could win a nuclear war. But a simple search of "winnable nuclear war" will produce this document, which will tell you that the US government still believes in a winnable nuclear war.
So there you have it. As regards Ronald Reagan, however, Reagan's military understood that provoking nuclear war isn't something kewl kids do. This is a lesson Lindsey Graham, beneficiary of thirty-five years of hindsight, has yet to learn.
