At least someone has a shred of dignity

Also congratulations to the Green Party of North Carolina. And then of course you have the Forward Party, whose leader Andrew Yang is apparently tired of playing footsie with the major parties. As this article says:

Forward plans to get legal recognition in 15 states by the end of this year, twice that number in 2023 and in almost all states by the end of 2024.

So they're serious. As Krystal Ball points out, however, the Forward Party's proclaimed perspective is "centrist," which is to say that Yang wants to form another money party:

Of course America doesn't need another money party. But you can see that the People's Party isn't going to go anywhere if it continues to expel participants as a substitute for horizontalist organization. The Forward Party, however, has attracted some negative attention in the Democratic Party's "fool the people" organ: The Nation magazine. Here's Joan Walsh's main complaint:

He found two older, retired Republicans, former Florida representative David Jolly and former New Jersey governor Christine Todd Whitman, to give him bipartisan cover for what is essentially an attack on Democrats. Because the law of third-party dynamics is: The party the new group is closest to is the party that will suffer if the new group gathers mass. Obviously, that party is the Democrats.

Oh those poor Democrats! How dare Andrew Yang meddle with their 50-year plan after which they, they promise (!), plan to actually stand for something besides money! It will be fun to watch as the Democratic Party attempts to crush the Forward Party with lawyers. Gee, maybe they can pull some more of the same stunts they pulled in North Carolina or something. Meanwhile we should all sit back and watch. Let the popcorn flow!

NAGGING REMINDER: Under Obama's watch, the Democratic Party gave, to the Republican Party, all branches of the Federal government (i.e. 69 seats in Congress and 13 Senate seats), 900+ state legislative seats, and 12 governor's houses. What might save the "hand it over" party this time? Abortion prosecutions.

They lost my sympathy pretty quickly - as a matter of fact, I can point to exactly the word-grouping that lost me:

"White-presenting Latino".

The steady stream of Wokespeak thereafter didn't help.
These are the kind of 'alt-right' - i.e. the xenophobic, hierarchy-seeking far-right of a different group - political-religion-cultists that "The Right" was right all along to excoriate (despite their naked and blind hypocrisy, such is the nature of this pathology), and the MPP whom, while I am quite ready to believe they're not headed anywhere good, is correct to set and insist on boundaries against.

The Alt-Right/Wokies/SJWs/neo-Puritans, the current embodiment of MLK's famous warning that "[n]othing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." are STILL trying to hijack, crash, and burn "The Left", and will continue to do so until it is made clear the personality disorder that defines them will not be enabled. This is Popper's Paradox in action.

The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
