What's not to like about Albert?
Thanks joe.
good news!
evening qms...
i can't imagine what's not to like.
have a great weekend!
Good evening Joe, thanks for the Evening Blues.
I see that your power was up for at least a while, hope that it's all copacetic today. No news IS very much good news.
It's been ages, but the one time I saw Albert live, somewhere in S.F., I'm pretty sure that he opened with this:
be well, have a good one and have a fantastic weekend
edit; made L lower case in 'live'

yep, the power came back up in the wee hours of the morning and thankfully has stayed on since. a lot of folks in my area are still without power. we lost a lot of tree limbs, etc. which took down power lines. in my neighborhood, a transformer on a pole right down the street from me took a direct hit from a lightning strike.
glad you got to see albert king, i know that he played the fillmore a few times because a friend of mine had bootlegs of some of his shows there.
have a great weekend!

thanks for the update. hopefully, putin can restrain erdogan from exterminating the kurds in syria. i suspect that putin has a lot more leverage over erdogan than the u.s. does at this point.
have a great weekend!
I can't attest to the accuracy but here it is.
heh...
i guess that's what alexander mercouris has been referring to as the "daily clobber report" by the russians. he generally says that while the information (particularly the numbers of dead and wounded) should be taken with a grain of salt, much of the time it has turned out to be reasonably accurate.
Hi bluesters
Hi all, Hey Joe! Since lately it seems so much news is bad or BS, truth is indeed 'no news is good news'.
When ya got Albert King, you don't need to say anything anyway.
Was surprised to see some blues in the news. A review of some more recent writings on them. But especially since mentioned were both Bessie Smith and Johnny Shines, two you just covered. https://longreads.com/2022/07/28/a-blues-reading-list/
Thanks for the great soundscapes! Have a great weekend.

evening dystopian...
heh, albert does kinda cover all of the bases.
thanks for the review article, some of those books look pretty interesting. johnny shines is an interesting character who often gave really good interviews. i remember reading some articles by a local newspaper writer, rafael alvarez, after he spent some time with shines. sadly, the baltimore sun hides stuff behind a paywall so i can't retrieve it.
have a great weekend!
I wonder how much is diverted to the black market?
Thanks for the blues tonite!
Great music to end my stay in Texas. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King, what a treat! Back in the day hearing Stevie Ray and others at Stubbs Barbq and Blues Hall. Heading to Santa Fe this weekend and cooler weather and rain. Hopefully will run into rain and it will make it down to Central Texas.
Will do one last last water of the pecan trees before heading out. Farmers Market here in town this weekend. Plan to hit the fresh tomato stands!
Have a great weekend!
Life is what you make it, so make it something worthwhile.
This ain't no dress rehearsal!
What great memories you have, jakkalbessie!
We get 15 minutes of rain today. Might get some more in the morning. 80 deg. on the porch. In August!
Safe travels, chica!

Howdy from the soggy hills
We got quite a lot of rain today and it’s been pleasant sitting here listening to it pitter and patter. It’s in the 60’s too and I’ve been soaking that up. Lots of thunder too. Can’t ask for anything more. Sam the dawg decided to roll in something brownish yellow and was quite happy showing me that she did. Thank the dawg lord I have an outside shower to give her a bath. She’s been busy chasing squirrels and bugs and what nots and a baby hummingbird came to visit.
Have a great weekend folks. We’re staying through it.
I really hadn’t anticipated the Senator from MBNA being this bad. I thought we had dodged the bullet with Hillary.

evening snoopy...
it's been raining on and off here for the past couple of days. during the day when the sun is out the temps are in the mid 90's and really high humidity. once it gets started raining, there is relief as the temps drop down to the 80's during the day and the 70's at night, though still with really high maryland-style humidity.
glad to hear that sam is having a great time, please pass on a scritch for me after you get the stink washed off of her.
have a great weekend!
Taiwan can thank Nancy for this and what soon will follow.
I only viewed 1/2 as I type this but this is the best Scott
Ritter interview that I have come across. It explain in great detail the war in Ukraine.
It is lengthy (and I can't stop watching) but it is well worth a view.
