This is a rather odd annual display called the Falles Festival wherein sculptures are built, only to be burned down at the end. One part art and one part pyrotechnics.

We have the mother polar bear in the main square for falles, her fur melting like a candle as other animals take refuge on and around her. They are lost and they are all in search of a new habitat…

Thanks for the festival art...sounds a bit like "Burning Man".

Finishing up the last of the bush hogging. I always like to leave cover during winter for all the critters, but with spring coming on strong it is best to clean it up and then let it regrow. Summer seeds are growing in flats ready to go out in a month or so. Always busy this time of year as the plant explosion occurs.

Reminds me of discovering a woman made up to be a vine tree at Disney World in the Animal Kingdom exhibit. She was about 12 foot high and blended into the surrounding greenery. Only spotted her when it moved. Freaky!

No Riots in Beach Towns
There were some spring breakers misbehaving down at the Beach last week, but it wasn't a riot. Riots don't happen in Beach towns because that would be too much bad publicity. Now the Sheriff's in the three counties, (Bay, Okaloosa, Walton) are preparing for Take Over Destin and Take Over Crab Island next week. They have been having extra SWAT training. They are making it out like the Russians are invading Ukraine. As someone pointed out, don't spring breakers go home after a week.

You wouldn't recognize it. I barely do. It's been overdeveloped from Navarre in Santa Rosa County to Miramar Beach, just outside of Bay. You can't even drive on Hwy 98 anymore. The traffic is so heavy that you will be stopped for at least 3 times for the same light. When I was tied up with the cancer doctors 3 or 4 years ago, it was less time for me to drive to Sacred Heart in Pensacola, three counties over than to drive to the one in the south of the county. And yesterday they approved building another 82 unit condo. What I can't figure out is why anyone wants to go to the beach when you have to sit in car to car traffic just to get there. Not my idea of fun. But then again, I have not been to the beach since that oil spill and Obama came down for a day and never even stuck his toe in the water.

We know that Prescott Bush helped Hitler do what he did and that was guilty of collaborating with the enemy, but mostly escaped punishment for it. But was he really who we thought he was? I dunno what to make of this tale, but thought why not? Most of the things I was taught in school was grade A BS so who knows what the truth actually is? There are lots of links included. I cannot say that the man is wrong, especially because
he uses profoundly undefined and undefinable phrases like
, but I will note that the sixties were almost half over when he was born in 1964, so his first hand knowledge is likely to be minimal. Also that he got a masters in politics from the LBJ Institute of something or other, which just might have had a narrative to push.
