We need to declare a national emergency until this disaster is fixed.
My old San Francisco friends are falling off the economic map. Many have literally gone back home to die.
They cant afford to live there any more, but they have spent their entire lives there so their entire lives are there.
Which is now insanely expensive. Americans are being pushed out of our country by the extreme neoliberal ideology.
It is so easy for people to get thrown out on the street by a single illness. They don't know anybody back where they lived with their parents as children. They lose their entire support networks. All of the freeways in California share a function as shelters. Tens of Thousands of people live under freeways. They have no stability at all. Their stuff is often dumped in the garbage by police. The police make sure that none of them have any spot where they can keep their remaining possessions, like ID, clothes, etc. Homeless people are demonized for existing, occupying space. It seems that there is a war on the poor going on in America. As well as a propaganda campaign to hide the realities of homeless America. The German TV network DW shows the reality of poverty in Amerika. (as they spell it)

the people with power want it this way. The wealthy claim more and more control of our lives through the politicians they buy. They drive what is essentially an economic steamroller down a narrow one way street chasing the rest of us. The near poor are closest to being crushed, running, running, running, for their lives. The rest judge their success by how long a lead they have, always aware one small stumble could get them crushed. Thing is they have no idea how many things that could trip them up until it's too late. Poverty is just slow capital punishment.

Germans are angry too. If you are a young family, try to find a place to live in Germany? You would never know that half of the buildings in the country had been wiped off the map 60 years ago, opening up huge areas for rebuilding. Most Germans get their TV service through what is called
a Fritz box, that is a device in your home, that brings Whelan services to your home. Everything goes through that box. As I am no techie I can't explain what the whelan service is in english. It brings the internet and all TV channels into your house, There are 48 channels thal also include the international ones, like CNN, BBC, Aljazeera etc. May be there is someone who can describe it for you in appropriate technical terms. Anyone out there to help me out?
DW is an independent media company. I think it was originally designed to be a media company for the non-German-speaking countries as a tool to promote Germany overseas.
So whereas I can see CNN, Aljazeera,F rance 24 on our TV service daily, I can't see Deutsche Welle. I watch it on the internet.
