How the Republicans Kicked off the US Assault on China

And how the Democrats willfully shared their lies and feigned hysteria in attacking China.

.

One year ago, the National Republican Senatorial Committee sent to Republican election campaigns and to AM talk radio stations (Republican-owned media monopolies that use misinformation to torque US election outcomes across the nation) a detailed, 57-page memo authored by a top Republican strategist advising GOP candidates to address the coronavirus crisis by aggressively attacking China.

These talking point memos are sent to member stations of the Republican-owned AM Radio Monopolies on a weekly basis (sometimes daily) to coordinate the lies, prejudice, and propaganda across Red State America. We can see side effects of this propaganda in the thousands of attacks against innocent Asian Americans that took place during 2020 and 2021. Much of this propaganda was embraced by Democratic Party "moderates" and megaphoned by the Democratic Establishment in order to satisfy their Big Donors from the Defense Industry and their intelligence-agency political candidates and media cutouts.

This particular memo was intercepted by Politico, which published excerpts from it on April 20, 2020. The Five-Eyes Anglo Empire Cartel, which includes the UK and Australia, pushed this propaganda internationally. Yahoo reported on the incident, which in no way curbed the spread of the destructive propaganda.

The memo (from April 17, 2020) includes advice on everything from how to tie Democratic candidates to the Chinese government to how to deal with accusations of racism. It stresses three main lines of assault: That China caused the virus “by covering it up,” that Democrats are “soft on China,” and that Republicans will “push for sanctions on China for its role in spreading this pandemic.”

“Coronavirus was a Chinese hit-and-run followed by a cover-up that cost thousands of lives,” the April 17 memo states.

The document urges candidates to stay relentlessly on message against the country when responding to any questions about the virus. When asked whether the spread of the coronavirus is Trump’s fault, candidates are advised to respond by pivoting to China.

“Don’t defend Trump, other than the China Travel Ban — attack China,” the memo states.

Republicans have indicated they plan to make China a centerpiece of the 2020 campaign. Trump’s reelection campaign recently released a web video painting Joe Biden as cozy with the authoritarian country. The pro-Trump super PAC America First Action has launched several TV commercials tying Biden to China.

Advisers to the president say polling shows China-focused attacks would be effective, and the reelection campaign has weighed a major TV ad campaign focused on the topic.

The NRSC memo shows that Republicans are also eager to make China an issue in down-ballot races. It was distributed by the Senate GOP campaign arm, though it was not explicitly drafted by or for the committee. It was authored by the political consulting firm of Brett O’Donnell, a veteran Republican strategist who has advised Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton.

Jesse Hunt, an NRSC spokesman, said: “We routinely send campaigns different documents and sources of information dozens of times per week. That’s the role of the party committee, especially in these volatile times.”

O’Donnell declined to comment.

The memo includes guidance on what Republican candidates can say when asked whether blaming China for the pandemic incites racism. Candidates are urged to respond by saying that, “No one is blaming Chinese Americans. This is the fault of the Chinese Communist Party for covering up the virus and lying about its danger. This caused the pandemic and they should be held accountable.”

“No one has suffered more from the murderous Communist Chinese Party dictatorship than the people of China,” the memo adds. “We stand with them against their corrupt government that caused this pandemic.”

The GOP’s planned China-focused assault, however, is complicated by Trump’s occasional praise for President Xi Jinping. The liberal organization American Bridge recently launched a commercial which plays a clip of the president praising Xi and declares that Trump “gave China his trust.”

.

When the US launches its first preemptive US military assaults against China, don't forget who is responsible for the ensuing global destruction. Remind the world. Spread this information. Don't let people die believing a lie.

in a Military Industrial Dictatorship.

Because China didn't publicize that they built new emergency hospitals in Wuhan practically overnight, with overhead time-lapse video showing how quickly they did it SOON ENOUGH, we need fleets of new battleships, new cyberwarfare technology, and new nuclear weapons in the Pacific.

Because Russia supposedly hacked the DNC emails, which turned out not to be true, we need new modernized nuclear weapons, new missile silos, and new submarines because the new nuclear weapons don't fit the old subs and silos.

I can tell who someone works for by noticing who benefits from their work, and the mouthpieces who shove this poison down our throats are the military industrial complex.

As opposed to "Russia!!", which is believed by people I know and like. This must be mostly a Republican thing.

My darling wife, shaharazade, has said maybe it would be better if we were stupid because seeing this sort of bs and watching people get suckered in is so painful. One side hates Russia, one hates China, for no reason at all other than they've been told to.

I've given up for the time being. That we, collectively, haven't said "ok, that's it, you're all gone" to our elected "representatives" and, in fact, the overwhelming majority hopes more of *their* liars get into office makes me think it's hopeless and the best course of action is to simply live my life. I don't know which monkey that makes me. See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Maybe all three.

@Shahryar

This post was made merely to remind you how that happened.

Why it happened:

The US cannot compete with China economically or intellectually.

That's brilliant 'cause it sums it up succinctly. Our "elites" (i.e. those in power at any level) believe the proper strategy is villification. They can't present facts because that would lead to people looking into what's real and what's not, so they gin up the hate.

This week I saw how two very different people I know share something in common. One is a musician, the other has an Indigenous background. Both own what they call up-to-date computers, but seldom even turn them on. Everything is done by phone, and texting, though in one case at the level where sender mistakes subject line as location for the message. They don't look up anything. Deadly as gangrene, where if one cuts into the problematic area no blood flows out.
