#2 Can you imagine some city dweller buying rural property such as your holler, not knowing how to keep the place weather-proofed?
The house painting crew is stalled out due to rain and cold. The room builders all got sick for two weeks with a flu or some such, but I am in no hurry on the painting, and the room is non-essential, unlike a complete kitchen makeover that has me cooking with a microwave or crock pot for weeks, washing dishes in the bathroom sink, waiting for the contractor to recover from a heart attack.
I hope we pull out of NATO, continue relations with Russia, start on a path of cooperation with China.

Thing is, you and those in your part of the great country called Trumpistan, admire snow, look forward to its' beauty and the uptick in profits from tourism and outdoor sports activities. Here, snow is dangerous, dreaded, as it shuts down schools, stores, electric grid, is treated as an emergency. Well, it is an emergency.

Ukraine has lost over a million men either killed or disabled and for what? Everyone knows that there is no way Ukraine can win this war so why keep throwing people away in it?

Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham showered praise on Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky at this year’s annual Munich Security Conference, declaring him to be the ally he had always dreamed of and lauding that the fight with Russia had not cost American lives.

The war-hawk senator made the remarks on Friday during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference. Speaking alongside Zelensky, Graham admitted the conflict between Moscow and Kiev was a proxy war fought by Kiev on Washington’s behalf, and praised Zelensky’s role in the continuing bloodshed.

“I want to tell you and your people you’re the ally I've been hoping for all my life. Not one American has died defending Ukraine,” Graham proclaimed, adding that Kiev had taken “our weapons” and purportedly “kicked [Russia’s] ass.”

“I’m very proud to have you as our ally,” he stressed.

Russian ass has not been kicked you ***wipe! Its military is stronger and better trained than before the war and they have made huge advances in their weapons. And their economy is doing much better than ours is. And he damn well knows that.

#6 Russia is kicking ass in some key villages, should be raising their flag in 2 or 3 days. They are also pushing towards the Kneiper river. Looking at the maps the channel provides, that is a long, long battle front. No way Kiev has enough troops for the many skirmish sites. And why would their soldiers give a shit about being slaughtered after finding out the US has dumped them, and Europe can supply 25k troops, at most.Well, sorry you are feeling a bit off. Dear One and I cancelled out our faucet finding shopping today because he just isn't up to it.
So, my medical advice: Watch and listen to the 5 minute song with visuals that is at the very bottom of the Simplicious article I linked. If that doesn't make you feel better, I will give up my imaginary medical license. Anyway, the song is the genre of music what I heard in Russia. The visuals are the monuments, cities, forests, rivers, the beautiful people and and their culture.

We do need a new party, but it would have to be popular enough to elect sufficient reps and senators to make it work. The poors and working class cannot make the campaign contributions necessary to get on the ballots and on the debate floors.

You've just described the active ingredient that can be found at the heart of every Western Democracy and in every Imaginary Western Empire. The people will never be able to afford to participate in a US-style democracy. It's even enshrined in the shamefully obsolete and humiliating US Constitution. We have the constitution to thank for our failed state and our increasingly horrendous reputation throughout the world. Unfortunately, I wasted my breath slounding that waring for most of my life. There was no one who could understand it.

There aren't a lot of intellectually honest people like you in the US, that make themselves known. It's a quality that is quite rare. People in the US are forced to play fast and loose with reality in order get along and survive. Same holds true in the UK and Australia, and Canada to some degree. These four nations, descendants of monarchy, are all geographically located on lands that are isolated from the rest of the world, like islands. Their populations are isolated from real world knowledge and self awareness — and they treasure their own isolation and incurious minds. These nations do not share borders with sane and sovereign nations (nor with any population they cannot effortlessly kill and bury if they have to). Their isolation turned them into sociopathic civilizations. One need only look at the wealthy, well-connected operatives that rule them to see the bigger picture.

On that note, isolated superpowers like the United States, focus most of their obsessive hatred and provocative aggressions against two comparatively peaceful super powers, that just so happen to maintain the highest number of shared borders with other sovereign nations. Russia shares a border with 14 different nations — and China shares a border with 16 independent nations, including Afghanistan, Korea, and Pakistan.

Both China and Russia are old civilizations with long diplomatic histories. They both maintain modern, largely defensive militaries, spending only a fraction of what the US spends on its offensive military build-up around the world. Neither China nor Russia send battleships to roam the world, provoking aggressive wars, interfering with free trade, destroying foreign infrastructures, killing civilians, and looting natural resources.

The world is moving on from the US, as it is. I don't believe the US can be reformed by a new election with different candidates. In my opinion, the people will need to go back and repair all the injustice and damage caused by democratically elected leaders. If Democracies are not held accountable, then they are a failure.

#7 For anyone with little time, Sabby makes her point by the 8 minute mark. I stayed with it to watch Bernie make a fool of himself. I have ignored him since 2016, so had not seen his cringe-worthy pressers since then.
