Trump is about to screw over his voters

No, I'm not talking about Trump's meme coin.
I'm talking about the conviction of the GOP to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy oligarchy by cutting benefits for the working class.

House Republicans released a budget plan proposal Wednesday that sets the stage for tax cuts, according to the AP.

Under the plan, GOP leaders are eyeing cuts to social services like Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

SNAP cuts alone are estimated at up to 20%.
While these cuts will effect everyone, it is red states that will suffer the most.

It isn't just SNAP. It's virtually all of the very same agencies that the GOP usually targets, such as the Department of Education.

It's not even close. Red States will be the big losers. School lunches, special education classes, etc.

It reminds me of Trump's reaction to California's wildfires. Suddenly he started talking about getting rid of FEMA, eventhough the biggest recipients of FEMA are poor red states.

President Donald Trump has questioned the future of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, but potential cuts to FEMA may hit residents of three red states the hardest.

"FEMA is going to be a whole big discussion very shortly because I'd rather see the states take care of their own problems," Trump said during an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity Wednesday evening.

Once again, it's not even close.

I should also mention veterans, which traditionally vote Republican.

In 2024, 86% of VA hospitals and clinics reported a severe shortage of doctors. In 2024, 82% of VA facilities reported a severe shortage of nurses.

Given the critical shortages, how did Trump respond? Mass layoffs.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has dismissed more than 1,000 new employees as part of a wave of federal government layoffs that began this week, sparking concerns the firings could impact benefits for former service members.

The Trump administration’s decision to pause and review federal funding has sparked uncertainty for many Americans. Even if you have not personally felt the effects yet, you soon might, because these abrupt freezes are hitting family farmers and ranchers hard. And when farmers struggle, every consumer feels it at the grocery store.

Agriculture is a complex industry, often overlooked in national policy discussions. Farmers take on an immense amount of financial risk to put a crop into the ground or raise a herd of livestock, only to be wiped out by a natural disaster, rising costs or collapsing markets. The programs under review — or those completely frozen — help family farmers manage risk, access credit and stay afloat when times get tough.

Without intervention, these cuts will ripple through rural economies.
