How the Granny with the Kool-Aid Bought Her Super Delegates
Remember kids, whatever you do--Don't drink the Kool-Aid!
Many people wonder how the Granny with the Kool-Aid managed to get so many super delegates, and so thoroughly buy the loyalty of not only the DNC, but many state Democratic parties. In particular many Berners have been dismayed to find that so many super delegates refuse to switch their vote to reflect their states overwhelming choice of Bernie.
Many of us have been amazed at how many politicians we thought were "good progressives" seem to have drunk the Clinton Kool-Aid and become hardcore supporters to the exclusion of reality.
The secret of course is the so called HRC Victory Fund, which the press insists is something of a "kindness" on the part of Granny Kool-Aid in helping down ballot candidates and state parties. In fact, they keep asking Bernie, why he isn't doing the same?
The simple truth is that this is a disingenuous question, most likely asked by media members who do not really understand what Granny Kool-Aid has done.
Margot Kidder (yes, Christopher Reeve's Lois Lane) has a great new in depth article at Counter Punch describing the HRC Victory Fund and how it allowed HRC to buy so many state super delegates:
How Hillary Clinton Bought the Loyalty of 33 State Democratic Parties
Here is the core of the idea as presented in this long article that goes into the details.
In August 2015, at the Democratic Party convention in Minneapolis, 33 democratic state parties made deals with the Hillary Clinton campaign and a joint fundraising entity called The Hillary Victory Fund. The deal allowed many of her core billionaire and inner circle individual donors to run the maximum amounts of money allowed through those state parties to the Hillary Victory Fund in New York and the DNC in Washington.
The idea was to increase how much one could personally donate to Hillary by taking advantage of the Supreme Court ruling 2014, McCutcheon v FEC, that knocked down a cap on aggregate limits as to how much a donor could give to a federal campaign in a year. It thus eliminated the ceiling on amounts spent by a single donor to a presidential candidate.
In other words, a single donor, by giving 10,000 dollars a year to each signatory state could legally give an extra $330,000 a year for two years to the Hillary Victory Fund. For each donor, this raised their individual legal cap on the Presidential campaign to $660,000 if given in both 2015 and 2016. And to one million, three hundred and 20 thousand dollars if an equal amount were also donated in their spouse’s name.
From these large amounts of money being transferred from state coffers to the Hillary Victory Fund in Washington, the Clinton campaign got the first $2,700, the DNC was to get the next $33,400, and the remainder was to be split among the 33 signatory states. With this scheme, the Hillary Victory Fund raised over $26 million for the Clinton Campaign by the end of 2015.
The article continues in great depth to describe what has transpired. Read and be amazed at the machinations that go on behind the scenes of Granny Kool-Aids Victory Fund in each state. Details on the players, their connections and how they connived to ensure victory for HRC.
We need true campaign finance reform!
It's an article truly worthy of Lois Lane!

The corruption goes deep and wide at the DNC.

I just "discovered" that site today
due to a link in the diary by importer "I didn't see this posted elsewhere..." Great site, great article and yes, I was surprised by Lois Lane, she's great! And she makes a really good case too.

You made me go back
to the article as I hadn't paid much attention to the author, and Lois Lane sure set off some bells. Today being April's Fool, I have to keep all three eyes doubly alert with the media. I don't trust them to begin with but throwing in a story that is false but likely to rile the masses is not beyond them.

Lol And now I know why she needs all those fundraisers.....
B/c no one will volunteer for her. I just got a call from Hillary's Victory Fund. Right off the bat I asked if the caller was a volunteer or was being paid.
Yes, he said. He's paid up front for each call. (Interesting). Then he asked me for money $100 to be exact to give to her. After talking about all that she'd need to beat Drumpf.
So I say, "wha?, the primary isn't over yet, is it?". he agrees it's not. Then asks if I am supporting her. I say no. Then he asks if I'm going to support her in the GE.
I say I've never voted for a republican in my life. Then he says again she's going to need money for the General Election. I say, too bad.
Well ffs, if you have to pay every phone banker b/c no one believes in you enuf to do it for free, then there's no amount of money that's enuf.
Oh and I said, "she doesn't need my money if she's giving fundraisers for $353,000.00/plate". Ha ha
Don't believe everything you think.
Hester, is this for real?
Or are you April foolin me?
yes, for real. I was called yesterday by HVF.
I'm shitty w April Fool's stuff and never tease anyone. I'm clueless that way. Too serious.
Don't believe everything you think.
Doesn't Chelsea get compensation from the 'Foundation'?
So even she's not doing it for free either.
Gëzuar!!

Yep
They even changed the name to. Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. And I think she may be the official head of it from an operations point of view.

I saw a report online somewhere
that said she was making $900,000 a year for her role in the foundation.

You can find if your state Dem party
signed on to this shit here. Amazingly my state Washington did not. There was a diary about this back in January at GOS.

Dirty Tricks abound -
There is more, following on what Steve D was researching, about corruption infiltrating the Sanders Campaign not being addressed, and hurting the Sanders volunteers now in several states. Here's detail on MA:

Still don't know how to get this to attention of Sanders Campaign in Burlington. Would have suggested going through state leaders - but so many seem to be corrupt, hard to tell where to begin. Wouldn't trust anyone in DNC.
Don't know if there's much which can be done now - NY, PA, WI, CA all too important to ignore this, but what to do???????
At least "Lois Lane" is getting her issue in focus now.

I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
I was appalled to see
Sen. AL Franken with Bill in WI today.
O.k. When is the next meeting for the revolution?

Franken is a terrible disappointment.
Definitely not Wellstone.

I called his office in St. Paul Mn
After he endorsed Hillary.
I told them he longer had my vote and that I would vote against him in any primary or general election.
'Tell Al to start looking for a new job' I says.
Franken is to Wellstone as a shit sandwich is to a hot fudge sundae with a cherry on top.

UGH!
I hate when people sell out...
I am very disappointed in
my representative Derek Kilmer of Washington. I know him personally and as of Saturday he had committed to being open to changing his vote should Bernie end up with the highest number of pledged delegates.
Now he has apparently changed his mind. I fear I must make sure he does not get reelected. I am very good at that and he knows it....... But I am afraid it didn't take long for him to become corrupted by beltway think.
I only wish we could oust Patty Murray the harm she has created with her love of trade deals is appalling. I won't even go into the governor that would take a novel.
It is terrible when we believe we have elected good people only to discover this is not so.
