Trump Attorney Was Fired From Traffic Court
Jenna Ellis, the Robin to Rudy Giuliani's Batman, was fired from her position as a prosecutor in traffic court.
She only worked as a prosecutor in Weld County, Colorado, for six months in 2012 where she handled traffic cases and other misdemeanors, according to the Weld County District Attorney's office.
She was fired from that job and then worked as a criminal-defense attorney in Colorado in several small local practices.
And Ellis can't practice law in federal court in Colorado because she didn't pay a fee the court assesses to lawyers practicing there.
According to Wikipedia, court records do not show Ellis having taken part in election law cases, federal judiciary cases, or any cases in the United States district courts or courts of appeals before December 2020.
Also per Wikipedia, in 2015, Ellis wrote on Facebook that Trump was "without love," "treacherous," "abusive" and "unholy." In February 2016, Ellis made various comments on Trump, such as her belief that he wanted to "destroy American democracy", was "one of the greatest threats to our liberty", "cannot handle criticism", and was not a real Christian, because he could not repent. To stop Trump from becoming the nominee, Ellis proposed that the Republican Party set up a brokered convention.
She eventually had a Road to Damascus moment after Trump won the 2016 Republican Primary.
There's more, but I think I'll end on that fine note.

We are kind of a throw back county
Back to the days when a cowtown out on the prairie was prosperous, now Weld makes a lot off of oil and gas, we are something like 80% of the non coal energy produced in Colorado. County seat has a beautiful old court house, and the University has a small city charm to it.
The county itself is fairly conservative in a high plains E Colorado / Western Kansas kind of way. I think we might actually be the biggest town out on the prairie E of the front range. A lot of Colorado's conservative politicians come from here.
I've never heard of Ellis but then I don't follow things in this county, the seat is an hour away. It used to be a big drive to bring the primary results up to the Dem office.
We just lost a Republican senator from out here, Gardner. The big problem with him was he caucused with the wrong folks, and these days that means votes R on every issue. His Dem replacement isn't much different, just caucuses with different folks.
I will say it takes a special kind of incompetence to get fired from traffic court. If it was something unethical I could see it. They don't stand lying, cheating, stealing at all. That senator who lost famously said he wouldn't vote for Trump the day Access Holywood tape came out. They are the kind of conservative that might punch you in the mouth without warning for bad mouthing women.
We do nutty well enough, have had some famous state senators.
Good evening edg. Thanks for the information,
this stuff is always good for a giggle.
be well and have a good one
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Nothing says powerful, successful attorney
than the resume' of Traffic Court trial lawyer. /s
For a prosecutor, it is training.
For a defense attorney, it can be getting trial experience, or hooking up with some insurance agency to get decent plea bargains for driver's with commercial licenses. (CDLs)
No attorney is on the radar of the public on that low echelon.
I figured Trumpsters would do better than that.

Giuliani, Lin Wood, Ellis, and Sidney Powell ...
don't seem to be living up to Trump's high standards for legal representation. *cough* Cohen *cough*
Trump has already gone through all
When did he get disbarred?
You are a licensed attorney or not. Giving legal advice as a layman is called being an illegal barrister, which in my state is a crime that could lead to prison. That is most likely everywhere in the union.
wtf?

Now I'm interested.
Who was your reply to?
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

Perchance
you were being snarky in your response.
Michael Dean Cohen, as we are talking about, should be sent to somewhwere that we never hear about him again.
Guantanamo Bay seems to be the place where nobody can speak.
Maybe we swap one for one?
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
I asked edg when Cohen was disbarred.

I was asking for info, not being snarky.
He might have been licensed when Trump first associated with him.
Nothing more should have been implied by my request for the date of disbarment.
Next time, I will just do a Google search.

Your question...
I think Pricknick was just trying to be helpful. Your comment requesting info about when Cohen was disbarred linked to the general essay and not to my response to you. I didn't see your question until today.
