Listen Up Democratic Party Establishment
Submitted by JtC on Thu, 03/05/2020 - 1:46pm
As a member of the disaffected left, I feel it is my duty to let you know that I will do whatever I can to throw a monkey wrench into the upcoming election by not voting for your chosen candidate. Period. And I will do my utmost to convince others of the same.
We, the disaffected left, have the power to split this Party. I hope you understand that.
I will never vote for a Democratic establishment/centrist ever. I will vote anything but blue if you shove another centrist down our throats.
Who's with me.

Been there.
Welcome.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
I'm with you n/t
Right here!
Voted for Jill Stein in 2012 and 2016, and I’ll happily pass on Biden in 2020.
100%
Voting for lesser evil is still voting for evil. Not doing it. As the kids say, fuck around and find out, DNC.
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
You know you can count on me!
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
This is a rehash.
They've been bullying people into lesser-evil voting for decades now. Said bullying succeeds in its aims, so they're not going to stop.
Is anyone going to collect the voices of those who waited five-plus hours at polling places day before yesterday without being allowed to vote? They seem to be the Berniecrats' main lever at present.
The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
I told my Democratic
friends this yesterday. While I will never vote for Trump, I cannot go that far, I refuse to vote centrist blue. If Bernie should choose Warren for VP I will have a hard time voting for him, a very hard time and I am not yet sure what I do if that should happen.

If she goes for bidden
it would show all her so-called progressive stances are bullshit.
Windsock warren.

Yup.
Only a fool lets someone else tell him who his enemy is. Assata Shakur
"Windsock Warren". Absolutely perfect. If Bernie does find some
way to work with her I would still vote for Bernie.
But if they foist any of the 27 incompetent and corrupt neoliberals from the clown car on us I will vote for Trump. I know many of you aren't there yet. But if I have a choice between two corrupt dangerous losers I will vote against the one that actively and maliciously lied and cheated me out of my vote in the primary and put me in the position of having no one to vote for.
As someone pointed out on another post,
In any case, I ain’t voting for Biden. That’s for damn sure.
Frankly,
Back to the original question, I will never vote for Biden or any of the Neolib Dems.
As long as he could
fog a mirror, TPTB would keep him in the WH.
Leading him from room to room would make it easier to rule.
Win-win for them.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
I understand.
I even thought about it. But, although racism is not the only reason to vote for Trump, and I think racism is not the reason many of his supporters did vote for him, it's kind of inarguable that Trump is racist (or plays one on TV, which comes down to the same thing when you're a public authority figure--I don't care if it's all pro wrestling to him). So I just can't. But I understand where you're coming from--I really do.

Date
When I switched the video to youtube, it shows 2016.
Don't know the exact date
2016, but I don't know when more specifically.

"I tell you I'll have nothing to do with the place...The roof of that hall is made of bones."

I have found only
a couple of sites dated Oct. 2, 2016 describing the speech as having been given on "Sunday." Since Oct. 2 was a Sunday, I guess they may mean that day.
Moore stops short of realization that voting in the US
no longer, and likely never was, a viable process for upending the tyranny of wealth. He fails to acknowledge that the reason we have a representative democracy is because the Framers understood that a pure, non representative democracy would offer the wealthy elite no protection from the “will of the people”.
Our right to vote is only permitted because it is a limited and conditional right, designed to subjugate the populace under a banner of “Freedom!”. Our right to vote is a sop, not a tool for change.
“ …and when we destroy nature, we diminish our capacity to sense the divine, and understand who God is, and what our own potential is and duties are as human beings.- RFK jr. 8/26/2024
Resistance is almost futile but what're ya gonna do
I have the same critique of him (mostly)
Moore is actually pretty establishment. The thing I appreciate is that he doesn't allow being establishment to turn his brain off. He allows being establishment to lock some doors in his mind, but he rarely, if ever, blathers or lies.
He's right, as far as it goes. I think he's got his finger on why a lot of people voted for Trump. That's all I was saying.
Look at it in a larger sense and there's a lot of wrong assumptions and implications in what he's saying.

Hearing the voices isn't enough
My critiques of Bernie have been getting roundly (or squarely) criticized for mockery or derision. It's the truth, though.
Recognize it, Berniecrats, Bernie should have complained the NYC voter purge in 2016. He didn't. It cost him big--the whole state.
The Texas and likely other state polling places were strategically moved by the DNC precisely to harm Bernie. Bernie did not protest. He did not raise HIS voice.
Tulsi fights back. She would have--and DID--call out the bastards for their dirty trickery. This included lambasting H. Rodent Clinton for Russiagating (and is suing her rotten Rodent ass for this too).
Bernie don't fight back. Politics is not abstract. All we've been getting from the DNC is emotionality and identarianism. No substance. No cohesive plan by all candidates, except Bernie, about M4A. Where's the "principle"? Dems have only one, one which is unspoken: retain power at all costs--even if it means Trump gets re-elected.
If I could ask Bernie one question
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
Because he needs Dems to vote for him?
They don't take at all kindly to him merely saying he is up against the Democratic establishment, let alone nailing them on specifics.
The corporate media keeps pounding away on Bernie 24/7 for everything he's ever said even when it's the exact same stuff Obama said re. the amazing success of literacy efforts in Cuba and many other subjects as well.
Right now the media, and I'm not just talking about the news but also shows like The View and comedy shows keep relentlessly sticking it to Bernie for being the least bit critical of the Democratic Party, pushing the trope that he's helping Trump get re-elected.
It's an incredible state of affairs.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1R-iObjcCE]
Right. They're already doing it.
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
There are more viable lines of attack
He's pounding away on Biden's propensity to support cutting social security and other social welfare programming, his coziness with Wall Street, his Iraq vote, his support of NAFTA, the concentration of wealth, etc. And there's roundabout talk of Biden's diminishing mental capabilities.
There's only so many directions to focus.
And only so much money for media commercials.
And I really think there's a big disconnect here among a lot of folks that Bernie can somehow transcend beyond Democratic voters to win the nomination -- but most Democratic Party voters have bitten hook, line and sinker into the Russia nonsense, that all that's needed to win in November is to say nasty stuff about Trump, etc.
This is why Bernie doesn't fight the dnc
Watch the whole show - it's worth it.

"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
Devastating and hard to disagree with.
At the time, just based on what was happening (that he always pulled punches, couldn't really criticize HER, swore to support the nominee long before the first vote and then campaigned for HER more than she did, etc.) this really seemed to be true to me. And though he definitely seems more seriously running this time, it still feels like he's accepted he's not going to be the nominee and just hopes for a seat at the table, as they say. I'd love to be proved wrong, but it seems like it's a bit late to try to reverse course now.
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
I read that same article `
only very recently. I don't remember where I read it, but you quoted almost word for word what I read.
I think he thought he had a shot this time. Talk about getting caught flat-footed this time - it would be when they all coalesced around Joementia. I think it has thrown the campaign into a frenzy, which they may not recover from.
They were always going to stop Bernie. We are witnessing the power of these asshats.
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
I feel very strongly
that Sanders has not accepted he's not going to be the nominee. He's working his tail off, harder than all the other candidates, and he gets huge crowds that he clearly recognizes are for real. After nearly a half century of being in politics, he surely knows how dirty the party will play.
I'm more hopeful than I was Tuesday night because I realize now Biden has to show up. He has to campaign. They may try to run him in commercials only, but sooner or later he has to speak to people, and like HRC, he has nothing to say except that he isn't Trump.
Yeah, and unlike
Inner and Outer Space: the Final Frontiers.
Bernie doesn't really want the nomination? That's just so false
He's just doing it for "The Party"? C'mon. How anyone can think for a second that he ever or now just wants to shepard (I'm giving up looking at my spelling) fools into the clutches of the Dem corporate elite is beyond me. He almost worked himself to death. Literally. And given the amount of vicious abuse being thrown at him 24/7 by the corporate mass media and sundry bought off political hacks? No, just, no.
I’m in.*
*Since Bernie is not a real Democrat, I will vote for him one more time in the general, on the off chance that he is on the ballot and survives the 2020 election season. Fingers crossed!

But if he doesn't, I'll write in Bernie's name anyhoo. Which is exactly what I did in 2016. Some tell me that's why we have trump. ( : whatever...screw them too. With the number of voters that Bernie has fired up there probably hasn't been a better time to send the DNC a loud and clear message. Numbers count. So yep, I'm with ya all the way JtC!

I had a very difficult conversation last night
With a 21 year old Bernie supporter who I work with and who i have done a lot of canvassing with here in California. She was so upset about Super Tuesday she cried. Her brother who is about 10 years older than her, is a diabetic who lost his job, has no insurance, and is struggling to pay for his insulin. M4A is not just an ideological issue for her. It's life and death for her family.
I have no crystal ball either, but I felt that helping her get back her voice as a powerful advocate for M4A was more helpful for her state of mind than the fear and despair that is creeping up behind her, while also gently reminding her that demoralizing the young who are engaged in the electoral process is a win/win for the people who are fighting against us.
Received a very sweet text from her this morning telling me she felt so much better phone banking for Bernie this morning.
So, no. You won't hear me tamping down any hopes anyone here may have. Solidarity, my friend.

THIS times millions! This is what people are voting for and Bernie is the only one who thinks that they deserve it. People keep complaining about Bernie's supporters being mean to them online. But how about the people who are doing everything they can to keep them from being able to live a life older people had? Or the democrat's operatives sowing discord every f'cking chance they get?
I'll do my part to bring Biden down every chance I get. Too many people are willing to overlook the damage Biden has done to us for whatever reason. You can't rewrite history and Biden's should have disqualified him from the beginning of this primary.

*And* there's nothing wrong with calling them Tomahawks!
Now that I think about it--it's a very secondary concern, but it *is* a little irritating that the people who massacred the people wielding actual tomahawks invented horrible superweapons and then named them after the weapons of the people they killed. WTF!

In 2012, I was part of a multi-faith climate activist group
in D.C. There was a *large* climate march there, and we did some lobbying after. Nancy Pelosi told our people that climate was "a dead issue." What I heard was "We don't care if you die." Since then, I've heard that message repeated many times, in response to many different policy questions. Foreign policy? "We don't care if you die." Medical policy? "We don't care if you die." Social Security? "We don't care if you die." Even the response to the coronavirus is remarkable. Pelosi's statement on it? "When there's a vaccine, we'll need to make it affordable." It took me a minute to realize what was wrong with that, but when I saw it, my mouth literally fell open. These people are less interested in preserving our civilization and people than the Chinese are interested in preserving theirs--those authoritarian tyrants. And yes, they are, in many ways, authoritarian tyrannical shitheads to their own people and imperialists to those smaller countries around them. But the Chinese leaders want there to be a China with Chinese people in it, preferably on a continent called Asia that isn't a fucking wasteland littered with bones.

This is exactly what they are telling us
Obama, Pelosi and Reid spent two years working on the ACA which only gave 20 odd million people insurance with no price controls or any controls on drugs. What did she do when the epi pen tripled in cost? Or what is she doing about the rising cost of insulin and other drugs people rely on to you know..live? She recently fought the slightly more progressives in the house on a drug bill that has no chance of being signed.
And don't forget what Her said.
"Universal health care will never ever come to this country!"
And the crowd went wild. SMDH!
Doesn't make any got damn sense
This shit is bananas.
It's "The Crazy Years"

Joe Biden won't be getting my vote this Nov., just as HRC did not get it in 2016. I was a yellow dog Democrat until the DNC & HRC stole the 2016 primary from Bernie. (My first Democratic presidential vote was for McGovern in 1972.) Yes, an old yellow dog can learn new tricks and I'm proof.
McGovern was my first vote too, and there is a good reason
for that...

I voted for Jill Stein in 2012 & 2016, I'm Bernie or bust
As far as the 'Screw no matter who' goes, on twitter I automatically block them on sight.
I also quit voting for my US Congress member, Rick Larsen, about four elections ago while writing in a name of a friend that was running against him, then when he no longer ran against Larsen I wrote it in anyway. However sometimes the online petitions I sign include Rick Larsen among the recipients but any response I get from him I mark as spam.
I was among the people confronting him at a townhall meeting over his support of the TPP even though the reason he gave for not being able to answer our questions regarding it was that he "hadn't read it yet" so he really couldn't discuss it. Oh, and he wouldn't be seeing us again until after the elections.
Then as a cherry on top he said as a super delegate he would be voting for Hillary even the State had gone strongly for Bernie Sanders.
