I really like the moodiness of your photo. The mahogany colouring of everything but the decorated trees are a nice contrast. That's a beautiful big tree.
It's still concerningly hot and dry here, and I am ironically waiting for a firewood delivery within the hour.
Been mucking around with f-stops over the last few weeks, as snow and ice get boring rather fast.

The earth is a multibillion-year-old sphere.
The Nazis killed millions of Jews.
On 9/11/01 a Boeing 757 (AA77) flew into the Pentagon.
AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.

It's some kind of thin silver (silver leaf?) applied to the outside of the glass. It looks more like gold in the morning sunlight.
I think the depth of field in your night photo is really effective. The intertwined branches of the old tree wouldn't have the same mystery if they were also sharp.
The round formations with a dark spot in the center and irregular, radiating arms are lake stars. The stars bring water up from under the ice sheet and the arms feed that water to the satturated slush that carries it outward until it comes to another expanding slush field. The white outer circle of the star is water saturated snow. The center hole and arms are dark becasue all the snow has melted. The grey ice is 32 degrees and can no longer melt the snow crystals in the slush. Flow through particles in laminar flow is called darcy flow. In these pictures the darcy flow pattern is not visible because of the distance or it may be obscured by a thick slush layer.

My husband has been having a blast rebuilding International Harvestor Farmall H tractors the past couple of months. The two in the foreground are just for parts. In the background is the first tractor we ever bought and then a tractor he originally bought for parts but eventually rebuilt it.
Grew up with an old red and grey beast like this one (not as pretty)
My neighbor rebuilds old John Deere tractors. Metal wheels don't go flat.

This is one of the many photos I've seen of people not wearing them properly. Remember it has to fit your face so that you get protection from icky things that can make you go dead.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Put metal treads on your shoes/boots
And all is well. Plus, I use the staff I made from our old maple, that came crashing down in a major storm a couple of decades ago.

Thanks for explaining these fascinating images.
The wonder and mystery of nature is so life sustaining.
