Hillary forwarded her emails to a Chinese company

Why Were Hillary Clinton's Emails Blind-Copied To Gmail Address Named After Chinese Firm?

All but four of the 30,490 emails from Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized email server were forwarded to a private Google email address featuring the name of a Chinese company, according to documents released on Aug. 15.

Frank Rucker, the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) investigator who spotted the anomaly, searched Google for “Carter Heavy Industries” and came up with results for Shandong Carter Heavy Industry Co., Ltd, a Chinese manufacturer of excavators and heavy machinery, according to the documents.

Rucker and ICIG attorney Jeanette McMillian told the FBI about the anomaly on Feb. 18, 2016, at a meeting which included Peter Strzok, who had just taken over as the section chief heading the probe. Rucker told Congress that Strzok was “aloof and dismissive” and didn’t ask many questions.

McMillian told Congress that her understanding of the Carter Heavy Industries email address was that it was a “drop box” to which the emails from the Clinton server were sent in real time.

“Even if you didn’t address an email to this address, the email went to it anyway,” McMillian said.

McMillian and Rucker were interviewed by the Senate Finance and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees on Dec. 4, 2018, in response to media reports that cited anonymous sources claiming that China gained access to Clinton’s emails. The committees released unclassified versions of those transcripts (pdf) along with several sets of supporting documents on Aug. 14.

The documents include several emails from Clinton and her staffers with message metadata showing the Carter Heavy Industries email address as a recipient.

Inspector General Inquiry

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz was aware of the ICIG’s referral to the FBI but did not address it in his 568-page report on the FBI and DOJ handling of the Clinton-email inquiry. Horowitz had promised Congress a year ago to look into and report on what the FBI did to investigate the matter. The newly released documents include the results of Horowitz’s inquiry in the form of an April 9, 2019, letter to senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.)

In the letter, Horowitz and Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson write that the Carter Heavy Industries email account was created by Platte River Networks employee Paul Combetta, who managed Clinton’s email server. Combetta allegedly created the Carter Heavy Industries email on Aug. 20, 2012, to serve as a “dummy email.” Combetta then used the email in order to transfer messages archived on Clinton’s second private server to the Platte River Networks server in early 2014.

What Combetta did with the email account between 2012 and 2014 and who else had access to it before and after the transfer remains a mystery. Neither the DOJ or the ICIG inspector generals provide any details on whether the FBI ever examined the matter.

Horowitz is supposed to be looking into how well and thorough the FBI did its investigation into this matter and releasing a report on it, but that was two years ago or so and I haven't seen much about except for the great work that Judicial Watch has been doing.

Probably nothing will ever happen to Hillary over this because that is how our justice system works. But I know that she is walking free after doing what she did while Julian and Chelsea are both in prison for the great work they did.

For further reading about Hillary's emails you might enjoy revisiting these essays that had some great links in them and great commentary. The first one is loaded with lots of back information.

Well, well, well. This doesn't bode well for Hillary

Did Obama Obstruct Hillary's Prosecution?

But Her Emails.....

I wrote about the IG report over a year ago and it showed that Hillary was grossly negligent in handling her emails because she used a private email server so that she could let people from her foundation have access to them and to get around the freedom of information act. During this investigation we found out that China might have hacked into her server. And after Anthony Weiner was arrested for sexting every one of her emails were found on his computer which Comey and Strzok never looked at.

In the twit-picture the email addy is "...heay..." instead of "...heavy..." (ie Carter Heavy Industries).

Is it known what's up with that?

Compensated Spokes Model for Big Poor.

appears to have created the email account and named it after a Chinese company. But that doesn't mean the government of China hacked Clinton's emails, at least as far as I can make sense of the article.

Why Were Hillary Clinton's Emails Blind-Copied To Gmail Address Named After Chinese Firm?

Authored by Ivan Pentchoukov via the Epoch Times

… McMillian and Rucker were interviewed by the Senate Finance and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees on Dec. 4, 2018, in response to media reports that cited anonymous sources claiming that China gained access to Clinton’s emails. The committees released unclassified versions of those transcripts (pdf) along with several sets of supporting documents on Aug. 14.

… In the letter, Horowitz and Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson write that the Carter Heavy Industries email account was created by Platte River Networks employee Paul Combetta, who managed Clinton’s email server. Combetta allegedly created the Carter Heavy Industries email on Aug. 20, 2012, to serve as a “dummy email.” Combetta then used the email in order to transfer messages archived on Clinton’s second private server to the Platte River Networks server in early 2014.

... Combetta’s use of this email account is addressed in Horowitz’s report, although it is referred to as a “dummy email” instead of revealing the actual address. Horowitz and Atkinson do not explain how Combetta came to pick the email address. Combetta’s lawyer told Horowitz that the Carter Heavy Industries email was a made-up name and that Combetta had no connection to Shandong Carter Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.

Combetta, through an attorney, refused to be interviewed by the DOJ inspector general about the matter, according to the letter. He also said he had no documents responsive to subpoena about the issue.

Horowitz wrote that his office did not find any evidence to contradict the claims of Combetta’s lawyer.

“Accordingly, other than the similarity discussed above between the dummy email address and the name of a Chinese company identified by the former ICIG analyst and former Inspector General McCullough during a Google search, the ICIG and the DOJ OIG are unaware of any information that links Combetta or the dummy email address that he created with the Chinese government or a Chinese-owned company,” Horowitz and Atkinson wrote.

OK. So Combetta chose a name that suggests a Chinese company. Why? He refused to be interviewed by the DOJ inspector general about the matter. Why?

I'm not questioning your reporting of this, snoopydawg. I'm concerned about what this issue represents. There's so much going on I start to feel the whole Epstein thing was done to divert attention from Mueller or Yemen or Iran's ships. But in reading Whitney Webb I find Epstein was connected to Israeli intelligence as well as to private Israeli spyware theft or contracting.

https://www.mintpressnews.com/mega-group-maxwells-mossad-spy-story-jeffr...

…In 2015, a few years after Epstein’s release from prison following his conviction for soliciting sex from a minor in 2008, Barak formed a company with Epstein with the chief purpose of investing in an Israeli start-up then known as Reporty. That company, now called Carbyne, sells its signature software to 911 call centers and emergency service providers and is also available to consumers as an app that provides emergency services with access to a caller’s camera and location and also runs any caller’s identity through any linked government database. It has specifically been marketed by the company itself and the Israeli press as a solution to mass shootings in the United States and is already being used by at least two U.S. counties.

... The company’s executive team are all former members of different branches of Israeli intelligence, including the elite military intelligence unit, Unit 8200, that is often likened to Israel’s equivalent of the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA)... another Carbyne co-founder, Lital Leshem, also served in Unit 8200 and later worked for Israeli private spy company Black Cube. Leshem now works for a subsidiary of Erik Prince’s company Frontier Services Group, according to the independent media outlet Narativ.

The company also includes several tie-ins to the Trump administration, including Palantir founder and Trump ally Peter Thiel — an investor in Carbyne. In addition, Carbyne’s board of advisers includes former Palantir employee Trae Stephens, who was a member of the Trump transition team, as well as former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff. Trump donor and New York real-estate developer Eliot Tawill is also on Carbyne’s board, alongside Ehud Barak and Pinchas Buchris.

Narativ, which wrote the first expose on Carbyne after Epstein’s arrest, noted that the Chinese government uses a smartphone app very similar to Carbyne as part of its mass surveillance apparatus, even though the original purpose of the app was for improved emergency reporting. According to Narativ, the Chinese Carbyne-equivalent “monitors every aspect of a user’s life, including personal conversations, power usage, and tracks a user’s movement.”

Given the history of Robert Maxwell — the father of Epstein’s long-time “girlfriend” and young-girl-procuring madam, Ghislaine Maxwell — in promoting the sale of Carbyne’s modified Promis software, which was also marketed as a tool to improve government efficacy but was actually a tool of mass surveillance for the benefit of Israeli intelligence, the overlap between Carbyne and Promis is troubling and warrants further investigation.

It is also worth noting that Unit 8200-connected tech start-ups are being widely integrated into U.S. companies and have developed close ties to the U.S. military-industrial complex, with Carbyne being just one example of that trend.

As MintPress previously reported, Unit 8200-linked outfits like Team8 have recently hired former National Security Agency (NSA) Director Mike Rogers as a senior advisor and gained prominent Silicon Valley figures, including former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, as key investors. Many American technology companies, from Intel to Google to Microsoft, have merged with several Unit 8200-connected start-ups in recent years and have been moving many key jobs and operations to Israel with backing from key Republican donors like Paul Singer. Many of those same companies, particularly Google and Microsoft, are also major U.S. government contractors.

I too wondered why Epstein was killed was suicided at the time he was and asked what stories just got kicked off the front page?

But as for the media covering this I'm not going to hold my breath because they haven't covered any of the other stories about Hillary's emails. But from the first IG report that was redacted we learned that the FBI knew that her server wasn't secure and had been hacked by more than one country. We were told that Horowitz was a reputable guy who would get to the bottom of the FBIs bogus investigation, but not much more information has come from him. Most of the new things I have learned has come from Judicial Watch. But no one is covering that either except for Marcy Wheeler who is picking and choosing which info she thinks is totally irrelevant. I have been asking her about the other things JW posted, but she doesn't answer me. I'm actually surprised that she hasn't blocked me yet. lol..

Maybe the people trying to sell this line of bullshit are banking on the fact that most people are technologically ignorant. Most people don't understand that email messages aren't actually stored on whatever device a person uses to read/write them. They're stored on a server or a series of servers.

This Paul dude who was managing Lying Hillary's private email servers did not need to have every email basically blind copied to a "dummy" email account in order to get a copy of every one on Private Server 1 (PS1) and Private Server 2 (PS2) onto his own company's server. He easily could have remoted into PS1 from his company's server and made the transfer. Repeat for PS2. It's only slightly more complicated to do the same from a 3rd device like a desktop or laptop computer, with the same end result -- all emails from PS1 & PS2 copied onto the tech company's server.

However, that's even a convoluted way of doing it. At setup of each PS, you set up a rule that puts a copy of each email sent/received on the tech company's server to begin with. Done.

I'm not buying the story this Paul dude's attorney is selling. It is illogical. Though, other than maybe saving a copy for blackmail or sale to someone, I can't think of a logical reason as to why the guy blind copied every email to another email account.

I'd like to see user login logs for the alleged "dummy" email account! For all we know, someone like Henry Fucking Kissinger was reading them from the fake account.

The whole Russiagate thing hinges on people not understanding how technology works. You’re 100% correct about the email. There’s no reason they needed to do it that way. No one does that.

Spy v. Spy? Hell, if a number of prominent members of congress could put Israeli agents in charge of their emails, why not? (What ever happened to that?)

Note: I took "fuck" out of the quote to make it fit in the title, not as an editorial judgment.

If you mean Imran Awan (Pakistani) who handled IT for Debbie Wasserman-Schulz and a bunch of other Dem congresscritters, he got a Jeffrey Epstein–class sweetheart plea bargain deal, and any and all info about the tangled scandal seems to have been locked away, never to be referred to in establishment media again.

If not, I’m having trouble remembering who you might be referring to, so if you could remind me of which Israeli agents you mean here, I’d appreciate it.

Hillary said that she relied on him for foreign policy advice and having a server under her control would allow anyone access to them. We do know that people from her foundation had access to them. Chelsea admitted that and said it was she could know where to send Bill to collect money after Hillary did her thing as Secretary of State. The Clinton family had to grift together don't you know? Sydney Bluementhal was another person who had access to the server. After Obama told Hillary that he was not to be involved with any state department work she hired him through her foundation and she let him help her with state department actions. It was Sydney who thought invading Libya was such a good idea. Was Obama aware of that? I'm betting on that he did. And did nothing.

st up a server in China and people would write emails, but just saved it the drafts folder and that way they could keep their communications off the NSA attention. Could this work?

If you gave me the password to your email account, we could converse in the drafts section, without ever sending a single email. Of course our communication would be monitored by the nsa at least, as far as I'm concerned. But we'll never hear a peep from them about what they know about Her, or O.

@Deja

Combetta clearly did not know what he was doing as an IT pro. Among other boneheaded moves, it looks like he showed up at reddit in 2014 under the login stonetear asking for help from those guys about how to batch replace the email address of what he called a "VERY VIP" client in some archives. The dates and inquiries line up with the investigation. During the 2016 congressional hearings related to the investigation, after Combetta pled the fifth and got an immunity deal, "stonetear" came back to reddit and deleted this comment history. Users howled at administration but as far as I know no one was ever held accountable for that either.

I'm betting someone took screenshots and has them somewhere or that the page was archived at 'way back machine' (or whatever it's called).

Wonder where his employer found him. Maybe he is related to someone in the company. That's what's happening where I work. New guy has been there 6 mos and all he does is install and uninstall Linux on 2 brand new servers worth tens of thousands of dollars, assign non root passwords and argue with the guy training him. Oh, and successfully lock himself out of various accounts, repeatedly. The guy who's retiring on 8/30, and who has been training him, predicts a total systems shutdown within 30 days due to his (and his various relatives') ineptitude. Fun times ahead, especially with the Fall Semester starting in just over a week.

Hillary's guy sounds like an idiot too!
