Pete Buttigieg: 2020 Democratic candidate surges to third place
in new poll.
"Pete Buttigieg has surged to third place in a new poll of Democratic presidential candidates, ahead of Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Beto’Rourke.
Shortest Way Home review: Pete Buttigieg as president in waitingThe 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, won the backing of 11% of likely Iowa Democratic caucus voters in an Emerson poll released on Sunday.
Joe Biden had 25% support, with Bernie Sanders in second place with 24%. But the performance of Buttigieg, who has impressed in a series of TV appearances, is likely to serve as a warning to his better-known rivals.
Buttigieg had 0% support in Emerson’s January poll, which was conducted just after he formed an exploratory committee." https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/mar/25/pete-buttigieg-2020-demo...
Posting this as interesting news; i know little of Buttigieg only having seen him on a few clips on TV; but this poll is from Iowa ...

"On March 11, Buttigieg participated in a CNN Townhall at the SXSW 2019 conference in Austin, Texas to explain his policy positions and vision for the country.[5] Within 24 hours, he successfully raised more than $600,000 from 22,000 unique donors. This gave his campaign an extra boost and a better chance than most of the other low tier candidates to qualify for the primary debates later in the year. Following the Townhall and a series of well-received press interviews, CNN dubbed Buttigieg "the hottest candidate in the 2020 race".[6][7]
On March 16, Buttigieg's campaign surpassed the 65,000 unique donor threshold to qualify for the official debates.[8][9] He is expected to officially launch his campaign in April 2019.[10]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Buttigieg_2020_presidential_campaign
Surprised by this poll; not endorsing, as i'm for Bernie.

Wonder what the Beto folks think of this?
Amusing take by tptb
I saw a previous poll with Biden and Bernie in the 20s, well ahead of the pack. CNN reported this as "but the really exciting news here is the surge for Kamala Harris at 11%".
Now this poll which, we read, could be "bad news for Sanders".
Good point ... in the few interviews i've seen,
He is sharp as a whip, apparently from story, "in South Carolina on Saturday, he told voters his marriage existed “by the grace of a single vote on the US supreme court”, and said it had brought him closer to God."
I'll have to take a look at Buttigieg
we might have another Jimmy Carter on our hands. (running to Startpage, I'll be back)
On to Biden since 1973
Actually went to Ecosia
But anyway he definitely reminds me of Carter. Saw a problem on military/surveillance, but I could be a little paranoid. On first look he joins Tulsi as an acceptable second choice to Bernie.
On to Biden since 1973
Like Tulsi, too; will certainly stay tuned for him, now.
If you're interested in hearing him speak
he was interviewed on Deconstructed on The Intercept
Give it a listen if you are so inclined.
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
Thank you, RA; will do.
Not sure, I could be mistaken
about him or if it was someone else, that he has said or implied he would persecute Assange, Wikileaks and other whistleblowers? (Due to him being a "former" military intelligence guy)
Ah yeah the clemency for Chelsea Manning "troubled" him.
So unless he has had an actual change of heart won't trust him.
Actually that's what I meant by a problem
he could have just been talking to his percieved audience, or he could have been talking without actually thinking first, or he could have a gaping hole in his game.
On to Biden since 1973
