Just wanted to say hello. Already on sub Reddit for Sanders and with the long writing here, the two sites make a complete experience.
Lots of dogs and dawgs around here. Thanks to the caucus99percent team for putting this together and for dealing with all the newbies. Will try out the way things work as time goes along.
Thanks again.

Welcome!
It's cool, right? And if you like animals, I've been promoting my latest blog: "Midnight Mulling - building your own ad-free (mostly) network" - all 'local.' The middle clip has animals that your dog - or dawg - will love chasing or being chased by.
best, john
Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long
Hello and welcome to c99.
I am glad we a good complement to the Reddit site. Lots of good people there.
Please kick the tires, make yourself to home.

Hello
From another 'dog'
Hello! I agree with your comment about the subreddit.
I just can't get into writing anything of any length over there because of formatting limitations. Much easier to write here and perhaps link there. I noticed that MO apparently doesn't want Hillary content - I guess she wants to follow the Bernie "only positive" policy over there. I think a lot of the discussion has to be not only why is Bernie good, but how is he better. You can't make comparisons without discussing the choices - better than what?

Thanks for the comments.
So far it looks like the structure of this site combined with that of the Sanders sub Reddit will somewhat fill the spectrum of styles covered at DKos.
Communities or groups are one area which over time developed rather organically there, and made a much richer and more cohesive community in many ways. People who would fight tooth and nail on a political issue, would be in total agreement on a Pootie or environment group.
There will be time to be had and history to be made after the primaries are over and a selection made. For lasting community, the progressives will have to talk and act about more that can be done. We have some big fish to fry in rather a hurry.
I am also testing to be sure my sig shows up. Like the sig lines. Thanks admins!

So this is where all the expats went!
I was wondering when something like this would happen.
Another "dog" here, and the name seems to have relevance again.
Some of you may recognize me from Kos, although I haven't been posting much over there lately. Hopefully there will be more here to discuss.

And that's a lovely Australian Shepherd (? that's my first guess, but lovely regardless of breed) in your pic...
Harry was best guess, a cross.
He was a Northern breed mixed with maybe some kind of Collie or Shepherd. But he had the best (worst) traits depending on your POV: he was not a herder but a runner. His rewards were anything that made him run. Chasing the ball was all about the running. But of course the bigger the prey the better, ahem, school buses.
He was also intense, and focused if he was doing what he wanted to...running. We swam him a lot to protect his joints. Trained him to pull DH on his bike with a custom bike jorking harness for Harry and a special flexible harness hook which extended from the main seat tube to the front of the bike. He loved it. He loved playing with half grown doggies and would bow to any dog entering a play area, asking for a tumble and run.
He had no boundaries, which is also typical for a Northern breed. Worthless as a guard dog. Hi, bark, bark, oh let's play. We put a GPS on his collar and turned him loose one day. He ran ten miles in forty minutes. In winter, we would put him on a stick out the car window on a wide tiny gravel graded road and run him from the car. Sprint at 25 mph and run steady at 15mph. We never took him more than four or five miles. No pad injuries, but we were afraid he wouldn't stop on his own.
With us he would look directly into our eyes. Soulful. And he hugged. He loved us on the floor hugging him. But he would not follow us around the house like Shelties do. Once he had his meals and a good run/swim he would back up to a corner of a stair landing and sleep.
As you may surmise, he was a rescue. Someone just turned him loose or he got out, obviously cute as a pup, but too much for working people. He was work.

Looks like my daughter's border collie.
His name is "Andy".

Just a note to say that we who are enslaved by cats also
are welcome here. This is where the dogs that are not of war can lie down with even the most territorial cats and communicate about matters of common interest, which appear to be many. (And arise sans fleas.) Most excellent!
