Tuesday Open Tread -- Random Voices
The honest man, tho e'er sae poor,
Is king o men for a' that.
Robbie Burns from A Man's A Man for A' That
Welcome folks. Another day, another essay encouraging open thinking. Somehow an obscure thread of ancient ancestry wove into my thoughts, echoing random voices heard as if in a dream. Relish haggis and sink whiskey while quoting Burns. This ancient castle has an interesting history, as do all the scattered piles. Taken down by lightning mid 1700's. Did the insurance claims department investigate? Funny how the bards of yore had to build evermore defensive keeps to maintain their claims. Against kinsmen. Hope we can evolve beyond that.
Moya Brennan Ancient Town
This little ditty was composed before the end of the world as we knew it, so if anything has changed that, my apologies. Feel free to add your random voices to the community chorus.

good chilly morning
...and foggy too. Made it to town driving through the fog to an almost deserted trade day. At least I took recycling and made a drop at the post office to make the trip worth while. I noticed gas is $2.02 - I never thought we would see those sorts of gas costs again. I wish we were not seeing such cheap gas (as people begin buying giant SUV's again) - Imagine if gas was $5 and $3 of it was taxes to convert our energy to green sources...something I've been saying since the 70's.
Well stay warm and dry everybody!

Good morning, QMS. Random voices, random thoughts
and words, the essence of DaDa poetry and some of Burroughs’s work. One could dabble there endlessly or simply stir similars like Naked Feast and A Movable Lunch, which would be bizarre. "Why did the chicken cross the road? To die, in the rain." (not really Hemingway)
So thurayya, over at TOP, turned me on to Chris Rea, a most interesting songwriter, guitarist and singer. The following, neither typical, but not totally atypical, reflects the Celtic rhythms that lead off the day here.

Good morning, QMS ~
It's been so cold here since last week. The air is just piercing. A storm might be rolling in on Thursday - we'll see.
Enjoyed Ancient Town - thanks for sharing it!
Have a beautiful day, folks!
