OT ~ Welcome to Saturday!
Sit-a-while
on swinging porch
where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.
"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." ~ Ernest Hemingway
Good morning, good people,
Datura
The flower pod, green-white, hand sized,
bloomed at night. As the dead increased,
the world of objects seemed more dense,
different from when our child-days dragged
or a sunflower's face, which, once arrived,
was heaviness itself. And it was different from
parenting, when days were thick,
years thin, or a poppy with a stem. There were
more cadences ascending and descending nearer by.
We saw one of us not reach
the hand-sized pod before it broke
into the mouth of an ordinary night,
though the hand reached toward,
as if a touch would enter it, end it,
or as though by touching what was strange
there was relief in being plain, or one might love
to cause an opening as when a blade cuts under blades of grass,
or words are said, or if a mouth opens another mouth. We saw
the hand fly back, the trumpet petals curl. It was perverse
to be afraid; when the scent began, one leaned in again.

Been away all week and i've little bleeding left to share this morning; but these few words:
Bad Blood
Bleeding from daggers old
unsettled...
days in the wilderness could not cure
No where to turn
no one to go to,
all corrupted purely
including him
by the chase of gold
left to mold.
Art today ~ Georgia O'keefe
New day rises out the window, faint blue skies break over the ridge line, slight breeze; it's a new day, hoping everyone has a good one.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
Aspie, you break the mood...
but if it must be that we can't escape the news for one day, so be it; having said that in reply to President Obama: "A day late and a dollar short, sir."
On the other hand, if he moves those i don't understand to the voting booth, that, i suppose, can't hurt.
Thanks for your morning contribution.
Pardon my snipping this morning, i shouldn't have said "you
broke the mood."
You just posted in an open thread in good faith and i took it personally.
Forgive me.
A new day
full of possibilities.
Have a good one Smiley7 and all!
I want a Pony!
Good morning, Arrow.
Enjoy.
Cheers
Dizzy with possibilities.

Enjoyed your poetry
It set the mood. Hope to enjoy the music later after errands.
Enjoying glorious rain here this week. Walked out among the dripping willows to find a couple of armenian cucumbers for the pickling crock.
All the best to you this day.

Good morning, Marilyn.
Trying to absorb pounding news of this week from two corners, white coats and estates.
As is my norm in sharing rather openly here, for now the words trapped in a mood most foul don't rise, mostly as i feel they aren't appropriate or they need more contemplation.
Off for a long dog-sitting gig this afternoon; which has, as all things, advantages and disadvantages. It's a private place with a beautiful deck up high in the forest overlooking a stream and a ski slope and the little ones all sleep with me and love.
I've much to think on and maybe, i can find some solace.
Someday, i wish to taste an Armenian cucumber; glad you have rain and the Willow tree reminded me to ask Magi how to best cut limbs for sprouting as fall is upon us.
Wish you well in your high forest puppy sitting . . .
Dogs have so much love to give. May you absorb it all, transcending the worries.
Three willow trees planted themselves among my round bales last year. Two are 30 ft tall. So beautiful.
On your inspiration I purchased some tree seeds from http://www.treeseeds.com/ Very inexpensive. I have saved local tree seeds as well to try to start.

Good morning, smiley ~~
I awoke to an enveloping fog,
which wrapped itself around the trees,
caressing them with the moisture of life.
We’re off for a short getaway.
Have a beautiful Saturday, folks!

Good morning, Raggedy Ann.
Fog, is it rare in your climate? i can't recall. The fogs of London come by and of Blowing Rock fame close by, but in the desert, i've no reminiscence.
Bet it's special.
Sandburg's poem, as old to me as i can remember, where did i learn it; when was it first given to me?
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
Thank you for reading and cheers to having a splendid get-a-way.
Good morning, Smiley7. Still early here, wit the first coffee
in process and farmers market still a few hours away.
Datura, a bane to cattlemen and a boon to shamen. But is it Stramonium, Jimsonweed or devil's trumpet, deadly toxic to man and beast, with tiny doses sometimes used by indians for medicinal purposes and visions, or Wrightii, the sacred datura, more commonly used for same? I suspect the latter, far cooler but still deadly all the same. Thanks, Ms. O'Keefe, and thanks to you Smiley for the pic and poem.
Have a wonderful day.

Good morning, el.
Datura, indeed.
Could it be the bane of one side of a family of which i am one. Funny how it came to me out-of-bed early morning after this week's enduring.
Happy farmer's market and wishing a wonderful one back to you.

Your OT starters, whether joyful or mournful or
contemplative, are always so lovely. Thank you, smiley! I wish you good things.
Good day, Henry.
Thank you.
I wish you good things as well.

Took a great a great walk up in some trees this morning. This from my tree book which I am almost done with. The Hidden Life of Trees by Wohlleben.
"Korean scientists have been tracking older women as they walk through forests and urban areas. The results? When the women were walking in the forest, their blood pressure, their lung capacity, and the elasticity of their arteries improved, whereas an excursion into town showed none of these changes. ... Personally, I think the swirling cocktail of tree talk is the reason we enjoy being out in the forest."
Rooting willow branches...
I do not know if all types of willows root but my guess is that they do. I pick branches about an inch in diameter, strip branches and leaves 1.5 feet from bottom ( and clip long branches above - you want some leaves but not too many) and stick 'em in a bucket of water. Change the water every day or so depending on the air temp. The warmer it is the more often you have to change the water. Takes about a week or two and you will see roots. At which point you can put them in holding pots or in the ground. One year I used them as poles for beans and to my surprise they sprouted. So they are pretty cooperative.
Have a good one...

Good Saturday Evening, Smiley & Gang! ;-D
Thanks for the very lovely OT! I'll be back to listen to the fabulous music, after we pack the car, for tomorrow.

Gathering a bit of 'news' on Part D and Medicare benefits to share in a couple of weeks. Already dread going through the Part D selection grind--again. But, with all the anticipated formulary changes, can't avoid it.
Days are certainly getting shorter, but, thankfully, a tad cooler, too.
Everyone have a nice weekend!

Tx Rangers stalling manslaughter charges against Dallas cop
Story is, cop goes into someone else's apartment after her shift, and in some whackadoo state,
thinks it's HER apartment and he's an intruder , so shoots and kills him. [What the fucking fuck?]
According to the local, Houston CBS affiliate (khou 11.1), the Dallas mayor vows "we will find out what happened."
Strange that the Tx Rangers would stall manslaughter charges brought against someone by the DA in the city where it happened. Also, they wouldn't release the moron's name until a few hrs ago and it didn't make the 10 o'clock news I just watched.
Somethin' smells quite stinky!
