My feeling is when the shit goes down, some SAD is going to start launching nukes and Everybodies plan goes out the window.
And No, I got zero answers to my own questions, except maybe, stay true to who you are until the end.

I had an apocalyptic dream the other night. In the dream, I was visiting family in the upper midwest. We were driving along and suddenly massive numbers of birds were ferociously flying south. We arrived at my parents' house (they are long gone - but then this was a dream). We asked what they had heard about this on the news. They said, "nothing - but you should have seen the frantic shoppers at the Dollar Tree."

I don't apply any mystic value to dreams, even though some of my occasional goofy happy hour comments here might make it seem like I do. (sigh) But this short dream made me see something a bit clearer.

What if our utilities were cut off? For us, that means no water or electricity. Also, do we have enough food around the house to get by for a month? Answers: We'd be fucked and no.

I may project the idea that I have a plan and have it all together. Nope. Trying to do gardening, but mostly suck at it. We have land, but it is mostly worthless. Pretty, but worthless.

I like my family, husband and kids very much, but they are not really on board with this growing food thing.

But after having the dream I got to thinking that maybe I can convince my husband to be prepared enough to get by for a month.

Mostly there is nothing we can do. Maybe all of us can do that much though = prepare to get by for a month.

Dealing with our society, and I have come to the conclusion that it's pretty much unsalvageable.

What made me the most crazy was looking at the criminal court and really observing what it has become. It's a damn bunch of bureaucrats literally photocopying papers and counting the seconds until Friday. Not a single one of them, including the judges, CARED about what they were doing and the pain they were causing. Instead it was just a bunch of people giving the standard "Well, it sucks that it happened to you, but if you just follow the rules as written..."

It's garbage, it's done, and it's stupid on a level that requires the mind to completely ignore all sense of logic or rationality. I found myself contemplating how I would run if the attention turned on me. I admit I was thinking of the courthouse as enemy territory. A processing center for slaves.

What should we be doing? What I did the last two days. Watching out for the lowest and our friends and our families. It is NOT easy or cheap work by any means. I barely slept for 2 days. Last night I finally got some sleep, and this morning got some time to think.
