Politico 'investigation' declares Our Revolution is done
Politico's latest click-bait headline sure promised more than it could deliver.
Bernie Sanders’ top operatives formed “Our Revolution” after he lost the 2016 primaries to keep his army organized and motivated — and potentially prepare for another presidential run in 2020.But an extensive review of the Sanders-inspired group depicts an organization in disarray — operating primarily as a promotional vehicle for its leader and sometimes even snubbing candidates aligned with Sanders. Our Revolution has shown no ability to tip a major Democratic election in its favor — despite possessing Sanders’ email list, the envy of the Democratic Party — and can claim no major wins in 2018 as its own.
The result has left many Sanders supporters disillusioned, feeling that the group that was supposed to harness the senator's grass-roots movement is failing in its mission. The problems have also fueled doubts about Sanders’ organizational ability heading into 2020, even after his out-of-nowhere near-march to the nomination two years ago. Critics of the Vermont independent had been worried he’d have a juggernaut-in-waiting to fuel a second presidential campaign, but that anxiety has faded after watching Our Revolution the past year and a half.
It goes on to say how not everything is perfect in the organization, and that it doesn't jump into every high-profile race, and most of all - Nina Turner Bad.
Their proof was a couple quotes and unnamed sources.

It looks like Bernie Sanders and Our Revolution is done...unless you talk to voters.
Unfortunately for Politico, a new survey came out today.
A CBS News/YouGov poll (pdf) asked Democrats, Independents, and those who lean toward voting for Democrats to choose between two options for what Democratic candidates' "first priority" should be. A full 72 percent said they want to see party candidates prioritize a progressive political agenda. The remaining 28 percent opted for merely opposing President Donald Trump's agenda.
Strong support for a progressive agenda was also reflected in responses to a question asked of everyone surveyed—including Republicans and Republican-leaning voters—that aimed to gauge the potential impact of endorsements: The largest amount of respondents, 29 percent, said they would be "more likely" to vote for a candidate endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), more than double that of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
So Bernie's agenda, and endorsement, still matters to Dem voters.
Interestingly, it matters to non-voters as well.
A similar phenomenon emerged when poll respondents were asked who would actually get them to show up at the polls in a presidential race. The overwhelming answer was “No/None/No one"—followed by "Bernie Sanders."
Since half of eligible voters are non-voters, Bernie could be the magic ingredient.

Our Revolution is a sheepdog front for the Bourgeoisie.
Even if Sanders wins, his agenda would never see the light of day. We all know that.

nevertheless...
that article had me googling the writer to see if he's one of those DNC loving centrist types.
and furthermore, I want Politico or any other outlet to publish articles about how the DNC is done, highlighting all the losses since the Democrats decided huge majorities weren't good for business.
@Shahryar What did you find? I
all I could find...
various links to what he's written and I also see rightwingers don't like him. I am guessing he's a centrist but have no quotes or anything, other than those articles of his.

Whoa, thanks! We need these reminders

I'd originally liked his attitude but he turned out to be another stinker in 'liberal' clothing long enough ago for the term 'liberal' not to have yet become entirely bathed in shit by the neos... hedge funder - what more can I say?

All meant to corral people back into their veal pen.
Imagine if over these last two years this organization worked as an independent organization or even 3rd party organization.
But instead, they sap energy, time, and money diverting resources trying to "take over the party" (something that will never come to pass 'Clinton').
Why go through primaries which can be rigged when you can go for the general.
Regardless of my position of say someone like Tim Canova, he is now running as an independent. There is the big, flashing light folks.
True, Our Revolution™ is
worthless. From day
one. And most Berniecrats knew and know this.
And after the 2016 drubbing there's no way Canova could run as a Dim.
Now, if only Bernie took heed! Alas....

And in both cases, they still did the bidding of the bourgeoisie. Meanwhile, we continue to live life on our knees like good little Puritans and Calvinists.

Fear
Dems have been smearing Sanders, Our Revolution and Nina Turner constantly over the last year. This is merely a continuation of that strategy, much like their only strategy in the mid-terms is to smear Trump. The last thing they want to do is discuss policy as that would risk losing corporate and wealthy donor cash.

I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
What this means to me
is that Our Revolution must still be relevant. Oh the lengths they go to in order to eliminate any valid competition.....

I think it's more the message that lives on.
I understand Bernie's motivation to remain working with the demorat party - survival - but we cannot unhear his words, we cannot unlearn his teachings about the state of our government - at least he's given us that. It's what lives on in the progressives winning against the DCCC right now. I'm grateful.

You're right, of course.
It's an uphill grind,
but I see no other options than to keep plugging.

It is the progressive policies that will live on.
The reactionaries can't stop that.
DCCC corruption
Bernie could win. Still.
Amazingly enough, and even minus the "Bernie stabbed us in the back" crowd.
Could still win.
But he's determined to run as a Dim, and there's still no friggin' way the Nancy Pelosi / Debbie what's-her-name Schultz wing of the Dim party are going to let him anywhere near the nomination (which will be Kamala's or another neolib), so... So it's mostly moot.
But, yeah, Bernie's "movement" still very much alive and well. Politico wishes Bernie would disappear, but the truth is Berniecrats will be around long after Bernie decides to hang it up. Many running this year, many more in 2020 and beyond.

As long as "Berniecrats"
Remain impotent and inconsequential to the ruling establishment, they are here "to stay". However, any genuine electoral "Berniecrat" momentum that garners enough influence to threaten the status quo, and the same levers of power that corrupted the primaries of 2016, will do so again.

Well, they'll try.
It's certainly being done
in NY-19 (Woodstock, NY, Catskills). So, yeah, there's no free ride. But the "Bernie Movement" ain't going away, is as strong as it ever was despite being watered down by "Our Revolution" and other "official groups," and despite being poo poohed by one time supporters turned non believers.
Not that I blame them. There has been damn little to believe in, cheer for, and Bernie hasn't bothered to support any effort that supports his efforts, has remained mostly invisible. And, despite all that many Berniecrats still believe, still believe "we" end up winning this thing. Maybe not in 2020, most likely not in 2020. But 2022 and 2024 could very well happen, is expected to happen.

Please explain
how "Berniecrats" expect to ELECTORALLY overcome a corrupt power structure when the establishment together with the DHS are overseeing the only means to electorally do that?
