to look into what would be required to make and post home-made videos with sound. I don't have an app to edit video from my camera and haven't looked into how easy or difficult it is to download onto you tube, but I think I'd enjoy it.
I'm playing with one that lets me do time lapse videos on my iPad. Wish I had figured it out for last night during an incredible thunderstorm. I kept taking pictures of lighting strikes thinking I'd get one, but no luck.

These below are Ruby-throated Hummingbird taken last Sept. here. Our breeding hummer is Black-chinned though. We are currently using about a gallon per day of fluid (4 to 1 water to sugar most closely matches real nectar). Multiply fluid ounces used daily by 4 (they weigh a quarter ounce and consume their weight daily) to get an approximate number of hummers you have.
Adult male

That was a pictures hanging in one of the booths. It is a picture of people swimming, taken from below looking up through the water. But what struck my eye was the reflections of the lights in the picture. The combination was wonderful. Thanks for the laugh!

I'd love to see a male here but no such luck so far.
A fabulous grackle:
More grackles at my new seed tray (the old one got broken by a raccoon); it's funny to see how many can fit on it at once:
(With one red-winged blackbird; I also have a pair of brown-headed cowbirds that come to it. My dozen or so dark-eyed juncos were replaced entirely by grackles pretty much overnight a while ago. We also saw a yellow-headed blackbird here the other day.)
This solitary sandpiper flushed and landed right in front of where I was standing when my husband shot at a rabbit:
And one more oriole:
I haven't seen any for a couple days now.
We also have a few goldfinches, and yesterday I was looking out the window and saw my mom's cat catch and eat one! It was sitting on a low branch or on the tall grass. She ate the whole thing, except for a few feathers! Cats!! I know they eat them sometimes but I'd never actually witnessed it before.

thanks to all our C99P contributors for sharing their excellent work.
Wanted to post a couple of new photos, but my scanner's been on the brink. Finally, got a replacement--just to realize that it won't scan photos. (It's an Epson portable, so we could have it on-the-road.) So when we get home, I'll have to figure out if my old flatbed scanner still works for photos. Out of the blue, one day, it quit copying PDF files which we need for personal/business reasons.
Anyhoo, hope Everyone has a very lovely Mother's Day weekend, and safe travels.
