DNC lawsuit against Trump campaign et. al: colossal political mistake--what are they thinking?

Surprise, surprise! The destitute and prostitute DNC has now spread its proverbial legs (quite stubby now after HRC's embarrassing defeat) and invites the legal system to "fuck me--I got it coming!" They have filed a lawsuit that looks like the Smallville phonebook in an effort to squeeze money and propaganda out of anybody they can with their indiscriminate defendant list.

Text of DNC Lawsuit

As you can see, this document is 66 pages long, barely sufficient to catalog the crimes of HRC, presented for serious consideration in a court of law. I will copy a few of the juicier items but those interested may amuse themselves (if of a legal mind proclivity) by reading through the whole thing.

I. Introduction

1. No one is above the law [comment--not in document: "except Hillary Clinton"]. In the run-up to the 2016 election, Russia mounted a brazen attack on American Democracy [comment: please explain meaning of American Democracy--it seems to be missing in action]. The opening salvo was a cyberattack on the DNC, carried out on American soil. In 2015 and 2016, Russian intelligence services hacked into the DNC's computers, penetrated its phone systems, and exfiltrated tens of thousands of documents and emails. [comment: this wasn't particularly difficult because A) HRC's home brew server was unencrypted for 3 to 6 months; B) HRC and DNC were contractually the same during the pre-primary and primary]. Russia then used this stolen information to advance its own interests: destabilizing the U.S. political establishment [comment: superbly abetted by the DNC itself through Russiagate hysteria]: denigrating the Democratic presidential nominee [comment: not a difficult task considering the nominee], and supporting the campaign of Donald J. Trump (Trump"), whose policies would benefit the Kremlin [comment: sorta like selling 20% of U.S. uranium to Vladimir and company].

Okay, okay. I give up, I can't give this document serious attention. Look at the list of comments before we even get to the juicier elements. Only one paragraph into this fairy tale, and the bullshit is already cascading off the margins. So, citizens, you will have to read this Grimm story yourselves. I can't keep up the pretense that this is a serious document any longer.

So, while we're at it, let's consider the rational explanation of Rachel Madcow in justifying this DNC frontal attack on a president who really has a much bigger and fact-based complaint of his own.
Here is Rachel's quietly orgasmic analysis clocking in at about 21 minutes.

She seems transfixed in time travel too an era long ago politically when the Dems were really attacked by Miami plumbers and CIA stooges, a time when the Reps were caught, shall we say, red-handed. The plumbers were trying to wire-tap DNC offices at the Watergate Hotel. True--hey, Rachel, haven't you forgotten about Hussein's bugging of Trump Tower? And what about the falsely obtained FISA warrants? Rachel gives no justification for the current lawsuit, other than "Russia did it".

The Swan (Robert S. Müller III) has been laboring with a platoon of unbiased (s/) lawyers for almost 14 months with no proof in sight that Trump has even been mean to a puppy dog. Now Trump has been an unprincipled scoundrel in his business dealings but there is absolutely NO evidence
of any Russian "collusion" (a legal non-entity). But, but, but...if we just continue investigating long enough, we may find out that Trump did something, anything, harmful to U.S. internationally speaking. Of course he's done the U.S. a lot of harm domestically with his nationalistic neoliberalism but this is not the offense for which he is being sued.

No, the parties to this hacking suit include the Bleach Bit Bitch, HRC. Fighting Tom Perez, doing his best imitation of a man with spine, speaks out about the righteousness of the cause for action.

“During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign,” DNC chairman Tom Perez said in a statement.

“This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency.”

Tom makes the statement that

“The timing and selective release of the stolen materials was designed to and had the effect of driving a wedge between the DNC and Democratic voters.

Tom, wasn't there something about Bernie Sanders being screwed over in the primary, thus causing a Demexit?

From the ever-reliable ABC News comes this article about the DNC's lawsuit.

The DNC alleges a wide-ranging “Russia-Trump conspiracy” and relies on the same racketeering statutes have been employed in taking down the mob.

Tom, you dummy, stop giving the Trumpites ideas about what to do with YOUR dirty laundry. CGI? CHAI? CHI? Pay-to-play? U1? Man, all of those are gonna come back and puts lotsa Dims in Leavenworth. If that ain't RICO, what is. Oh, yeah, and Haiti, too.

Just so no one can accuse me of bias (although I am heavily biased) I present a third article emanating from Morbidly Slanted Media, also explaining the lawsuit.

The suit — which targets a host of Trump relatives and pals including his son, Donald Trump, Jr.; son-in-law Jared Kushner; former campaign manager Paul Manafort and adviser Roger Stone — charges that Russia hacked the Dems’ servers to slime Hillary Clinton and bolster Trump’s campaign.

Question: How does one slime someone who is already slime?

From the same article, the coming Trump counter-attack:

Trump tweeted that the action by the “Obstructionist Democrats” could “be good news in that we will now counter for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI” and “Clinton emails.”

Roger Stone, who is also a defendant had a few things to say about this 10 minutes.

Back in the land of reality, we see the Democrats are so stupid not to recognize that the facts are entirely against themselves, which Trump's team will push down the jury's throats--if this case ever gets to trial. That is a big IF. The first hurdle, roughly 36,000 feet high for the complainants will be the production of alleged hacked computers as evidence enough to survive a motion for summary judgement.

Where are those computers? Hmmm, where are they? Perhaps back in Pakistan for repair by Awan Computer service? Maybe in the East River. Perhaps in the NYC dump resting in 5000 pieces. Maybe they're shrunken into iPhones following heavy dosing of Bleach Bits, known to shrink content of electronic devices.

Possible reasons for insane, desperation ploy which will certainly fail. Even if the suit does fail, Trump may counter-sue them, forcing discovery. The cat, as they say, is out of the bag.

1. Dims are stupid
2. Raise money for DNC
3. Prove that Trump is an impostor and Killary should be hoisted onto the throne (this is necessary, because she couldn't possibly ascend the throne without physical help).
4. Dims are stupid (yes, I know, I said that before)

I am sorry that my lack of creativity is unable to derive further semi-rational explanations for this counter-productive Custer's-Last-Stand attack. Müller's got nothing. "17" intelligence agencies got nothing. Who's got ammunition for the Democratic assault? Maybe those Russians Hillary paid through Fusion GPS via Christopher Steele to unnamed Russian sources who had dirt on Trump. Oh, wait, Hillary hired Russians to undermine Trump. Trump didn't hire Russians to keep her from campaigning in Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.

Dims sing Desperation Blues? No. Terminal blues

When your spine is cracking and your hands, they shake,
Heart is bursting and you butt's gonna break.
Your woman's cussing, you can hear her scream,
You feel like murder in the first degree.
Ain't nobody slowing down no way,
Ev'rybody's stepping on their accelerator,
Don't matter where you are,
Ev'rybody's gonna need a ventilator.
When you're trapped and circled with no second chances,
Your code of living is your gun in hand.
We can't be browed by beating, we can't be cowed by words,
Messed by cheating, ain't gonna ever learn.
Ev'rybody walking 'round,
Ev'rybody trying to step on their Creator.
Don't matter where you are, ev'rybody, ev'rybody gonna
Need some kind of ventilator, some kind of ventilator.
What you gonna do about it, what you gonna do?
What you gonna do about it, what you gonna do?
Gonna fight it, gonna fight it?

The foolish DNC lawsuit is getting covered, but not this criminal referral to the DOJ. Think there might be a connection?

Wednesday’s criminal referral by 11 House Republicans of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as several former and serving top FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials is a giant step toward a Constitutional crisis.
Named in the referral to the DOJ for possible violations of federal law are: Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey; former Attorney General Loretta Lynch; former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe; FBI Agent Peter Strzok; FBI Counsel Lisa Page; and those DOJ and FBI personnel “connected to” work on the “Steele Dossier,” including former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente.
With no attention from corporate media, the referral was sent to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah John Huber.

DNC Files Lawsuit Alleging Nation Should Never, Ever Stop Focusing On 2016 Election

WASHINGTON—Demanding greater accountability for the race’s outcome, the Democratic National Committee reportedly filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit Friday alleging that the nation should never, ever stop focusing on the 2016 presidential election. “Our lawsuit lays out, in no uncertain terms, that the nation should never under any circumstances move on from the 2016 election results,” said DNC chairman Tom Perez, adding that the 66-page lawsuit filed in a New York federal court asserts that the American people must remain solely preoccupied with every little goddamn detail from the 2016 presidential race. “We’re calling on WikiLeaks, Russia, and Trump campaign officials to join the Democratic Party in our efforts to spend the next several years prioritizing endless fucking discussions about potential election interference and what that means for democracy. We believe there was a deliberate effort to throw the race to Donald Trump, and that the American people have a right to publicly re-litigate Hillary Clinton’s defeat and promote far-reaching conspiracy theories instead of concentrating on anything remotely politically constructive for the next few decades at least.” At press time, DNC officials were calling for an emergency legal injunction to block the nation from learning absolutely anything from the 2016 election.

@Lookout

. . . unquestioning, and the gullible. That's all that this lawsuit is.

It keeps the DNC's bullshit memes alive in the public consciousness, as they know that it will be "covered" by a corrupt and allied media.

From that standpoint, I think it's a decent strategy on their part. It isn't really about "winning" the lawsuit. It's about giving the Democratic "wing" of the ruling oligarchy a vehicle to keep their allegations alive, and to keep other aspects of truth that are less flattering to them off the front pages.

And sadly, it will work, because large swaths of the American population--although I'd like to think their numbers are shrinking--are too asleep, too stupid, too gullible, too plugged-into-the-Matrix, too partisan, etc., to look beyond the face of these allegations.

I say "Bravo" to whoever came up with this plan. It's a fairly good propaganda/PR ploy.

(One thing that does occur to me, however, is that they are opening themselves up to potential sanctions for filing a frivolous law suit, for they have no persuasive evidence from a legal standpoint that supports any of their allegations. It might be interesting to see if any of the named defendants file for such sanctions after the initial discovery phase is over. Perhaps the DNC will try and avoid the possibility of sanctions by voluntarily withdrawing the suit once the 2018 elections are over.)

Look, progressives and other principled people can bemoan such deceitful stratagems all they want. But until they start actively finding ways to enlighten people about, and to get them to unplug from the corporate media/MSM "Matrix," what's the point in doing so? As Caitlin Johnstone has pointed out, in the war against he ruling class, the first target should be the delegitimization in the public mind of the corporate media.

MsGrin's picture

@SoylentGreenisPeople The other thing they potentially open themselves up to with having filed this nonsense is what Trump has pointed out - they open themselves up to discovery the chance they will be asked to turn over the servers. Since they've started this hot mess, the judge may not tend to be so protective of their rights as one might be if they were defendants in the matter.

The case to watch is the one Dan Backer filed against the FEC for not considering if HVF was illegal laundering. Backer's already won a SCOTUS case (McCutcheon), so he happens to know that ruling inside and out, and from my read, he's got the DNC et al dead to rights. Our political dialogue has become so corrupted, and the result of our so far successful empire, has provided lots of money for spies, bombs, bankers and politicians.

I previously wrote that President Donald Trump has the curious skill of bringing out the worst in his critics. In the last two weeks, two of Trump greatest critics have not only faced their own investigations into leaks by the Inspector General (and more McCabe a criminal referral for prosecution), they are increasingly at odds with one another. It is now clear that either Comey or McCabe is offering a false account of leaks from the Justice Department. With McCabe now promising defamation lawsuits and the possibility of a prosecution, this could get much worse before it gets better.

The people who are front pagers wrote about republican after republican during the primary while ignoring everything else that was important.

Now they are busy spreading false propaganda about what people who don't believe in Russia Gate say. They will include a person's statement properly, but then totally ignore the meaning of it and put their impression of it in instead. It's so glaringly obvious, but no one picks up on it. If any news media person did what they do there's a good chance of them being sued for the false reporting.

There are rumors of kos working for the new Hillary campaign, American something, and that's why he has changed so much since he wrote his book. He sold himself and his website out. Just like Cenk did after he got paid $20 million.

No one here has PTSD over leaving or being banned from DK. There certainly is a lot of us here that ridicule some of the members there who are so invested in Russia Gate. It's hard not to. I've tried posting some sanity there, but the new snots tell me that I don't have the right to post what I do. I've seen the snots telling off old time members and it's rather comical to see the responses back. There are so many new members there and probably it's the Correct the Record bots that joined after they found themselves appreciated by what they said about Herheinous.

Some of us still read the site. I do because the older members still write about important issues.

MOSCOW -- A Russian lawyer who discussed sanctions with Donald Trump Jr. in New York during his father's 2016 campaign for the U.S. presidency said Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller has not contacted her and she thinks he isn't interested in finding the truth.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Natalia Veselnitskaya also detailed her recent meeting in Berlin with the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, which is investigating allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election as well.

Veselnitskaya met with Donald Trump Jr., the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort in June 2016 after Trump Jr. was told she could provide potentially incriminating information about Hillary Clinton.

this is my first problem with Rachel 'the long winded' fake news anchor. It takes her 15/20 minutes of her long winded monologue to get to her point. And then more repeating the points that she has already made 4 times. Good grief.

Rachel, haven't you forgotten about Hussein's bugging of Trump Tower? And what about the falsely obtained FISA warrants?

Now, that’s interesting, isn’t it?

Guess who was the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation during this timeframe???

I know, it’s a miracle, just a coincidence, just an anomaly in statistics and chances, Robert Mueller.

What do all four casting characters have in common?

They all were briefed and/or were front line investigators into the Clinton Foundation Investigation.

Now that’s just a coincidence, right?

Ok, lets chalk the last one up to mere chance.

Let’s fast forward to 2009, shall we?

James “Wassup Homey” Comey leaves the Justice Department to go and cash-in at Lockheed Martin.

Hillary Clinton is running the State Department, on her own personal email server by the way.

The Uranium One “issue” comes to the attention of the Hildabeast.

Hildabeast and Homey

Like all good public servants do, you know looking out for America’s best interest, she decides to support the decision and approve the sale of 20% of US Uranium to no other than, the Russians.

Now you would think that this is a fairly straight up deal, except it wasn’t, the People got absolutely nothing out of it.

However, prior to the sales approval, no other than Arkansas Bill goes to Moscow, gets paid 500K for a one hour speech then meets with Vladimir Putin at his home for a few hours.

Ok, no big deal right?

Well, not so fast, the FBI had a mole inside the money laundering and bribery scheme.

Guess who was the FBI Director during this time frame?

Yep, Robert Mueller.

He even delivered a Uranium Sample to Moscow in 2009.

Guess who was handling that case within the Justice Department out of the US Attorney’s Office in Maryland.

No other than, Rod Rosenstein.

Guess what happened to the informant?

The Department of Justice placed a GAG order on him and threatened to lock him up if he spoke out about it.

Interesting, huh?

How does 20% of the most strategic asset of the United States of America end up in Russian hands when the FBI has an informant, a mole providing inside information to the FBI on the criminal enterprise?

Guess what happened soon after the sale was approved?

$145 million dollars in “donations” made their way into the Clinton Foundation from entities directly connected to the Uranium One deal.

BOLO Lerner

Guess who was still at the Internal Revenue Service working the Charitable Division?

None other than, Lois “BOLO” Lerner.

Interesting, huh?

Ok, that’s all just another series of coincidences, nothing to see here, right?

Let’s fast forward to 2015.

Due to a series of tragic events in Benghazi and after the 9 “investigations” the House, Senate and at State Department, Trey Gowdy who was running the 10th investigation as Chairman of the Select Committee on Benghazi discovers that the Hildabeast ran the State Department on a unclassified, unauthorized, outlaw personal email server.

He also discovered that none of those emails had been turned over when she departed her “Public Service” as Secretary of State which was required by law.

He also discovered that there was Top Secret information contained within her personally archived email.

I will spare you the State Departments cover up, the nostrums they floated, the delay tactics that were employed and the outright lies that were spewed forth from the necks of the Kerry State Department, we shall leave it with this…… they did everything humanly possible to cover for the Hildabeast.

Now this is amazing, guess who became FBI Director in 2013?

Guess who secured 17 no-bid contracts for his employer with the State Department and was rewarded with a six million dollar thank you present when he departed his employer.

No other than James “Wassup Homey” Comey.

Amazing how all those no-bids just went right through at State, huh?

Now he is the FBI Director in charge of the “Clinton Email Investigation” after of course his FBI Investigates the Lois Lerner “Matter” at the Internal Revenue Service and exonerates her.

Nope couldn’t find any crimes there.

Can you guess what happened next?

In April 2016, James “Wassup Homey” Comey drafts an exoneration letter of Hillary Rodham Clinton, meanwhile the DOJ is handing out immunity deals like candy.

They didn’t even convene a Grand Jury.

Like a lightning bolt of statistical impossibility, like a miracle from God himself, like the true “Gangsta” Homey is, James steps out into the cameras of an awaiting press conference on July the 8th of 2016, and exonerates the Hildabeast from any wrongdoing.

Can you see the pattern?

Rosenstein, Comey and Mueller

I could go on, Rosenstein (Larry) becomes Asst. Attorney General, Comey (Curly) gets fired based upon a letter by Rosenstein, Comey leaks government information to the press, Mueller (Moe) is assigned to the Russian Investigation sham by Rosenstein to provide cover for decades of malfeasance within the FBI and DOJ and the story continues.

FISA Abuse, political espionage…… pick a crime, any crime, chances are…… this group and a few others did it.

All the same players.

All compromised and conflicted.

All working fervently to NOT go to jail themselves.

All connected in one way or another to the Clinton’s.

They are like battery acid, they corrode and corrupt everything they touch.

How many lives have these two destroyed?

It cannot be numbered.

Incest, it’s Incestuous!

As of this writing, the Clinton Foundation, in its 20+ years of operation of being the largest International Charity Fraud in the history of mankind, has never been audited by the Internal Revenue Service.

That those 3 people have been connected and involved with the Clintons for so long and they were the ones who were in charge of any investigations into them. Of course they never found that they did anything wrong.

People have known that the Clinton's Frauation was a fraud for two decades and yet they just got to continue snarfing up huge amounts of money. She was able to be so arrogant and continue using it during her tenure as SOS because she knew that nobody would do anything about it.

And people are upset with Trump making money off his businesses. He's made $15 million in one year. Hillary's foundation made hundreds of millions in her 4 year tenure.

After Putin was reelected other country's leaders told everyone that the only way he could have been was if there was massive fraud during the voting since he won with close 80% of the votes. Gee, it couldn't have been because of what he has done for the Russian economy since he became president now could it?

According to data from the IMF Russia’s economy had plunged in the 1990s under the Yeltsin presidency. When Putin took over in 1998, per capita income in the country had shrunk by more than 40 percent from its 1990 level. This is a far sharper downturn than the United States saw in the Great Depression. Since Putin took power its per capita income has risen by more than 115 percent, an average annual growth rate of more than 3.9 percent.

While this growth has been very unequal, that was also the case even as Russia’s economy was collapsing under Yeltsin. The typical Russian has done hugely better in the last two decades under Putin than they did in the period when Yeltsin was in power.

Russia's citizens have universal health care and other benefits that we don't have. The CIA and its goons asset stripped Russia's economy and a lot of the billionaire oligarchs fled to the U.K. with many billions of dollars. Russia wants them back.

I read another article about how Putin worked with the oligarchs and the banks. If people were willing to work with him, they stayed out of prison and got positions in his government. The others either fled or were put in prison.

I've heard a lot about Putin's tenure as a (whatever they call their CIA over there) and that he has been ruthless with what he's done, but I don't know how much of that is true. I do know that he isn't the boogeyman that everyone makes him out to be.

@gulfgal98 The chronology of the four Mousekateers (if we include BOLO Lerner) was amongst the ten best I have read here. But writing essays on c99 is not a contest, perhaps unlike at the GOS; it is elucidative and illuminating (Uh oh, am I now an illuminati?)

From the Sharon Tennison article linked, several pertinent passages emerge. The article should be given credence because ST worked long in all parts of Russia and knew Putin when he was a "bureaucrat" in St. Petersburg.

My friend Volodya Shestakov and I showed up at a side door entrance to the Marienskii building. We found ourselves in a small, dull brown office, facing a rather trim nondescript man in a brown suit.

He inquired about my reason for coming in. After scanning the proposal I provided he began asking intelligent questions. After each of my answers, he asked the next relevant question.

I became aware that this interviewer was different than other Soviet bureaucrats who always seemed to fall into chummy conversations with foreigners with hopes of obtaining bribes in exchange for the Americans’ requests.
...
Out on the sidewalk, I said to my colleague, “Volodya, this is the first time we have ever dealt with a Soviet bureaucrat who didn’t ask us for a trip to the U.S. or something valuable!”

Hey, Bubba and Killary, did you catch that? Nah. Too busy looting Haiti and the suckers who donated to your chari-fraud.

Putin has a practical approach to dealing with oligarchs:

Four months later Putin called a meeting with the oligarchs and proposed a deal: They could keep their illegally acquired wealth-producing Soviet enterprises and they would not be nationalized if taxes were paid on their revenues and if they personally stayed out of politics.

This was the first of Putin’s “elegant solutions” to the near-impossible challenges facing the new Russia. But the deal also put Putin in crosshairs with U.S. media and officials who then began to champion the oligarchs, particularly Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

I realize that I am thread-jacking my own essay, but this stuff is just too good to not pass on to others.

Thanks Snoopy.

I'm glad that you excerpted this article. She humanizes Vlad and gives us an insight into his character. This is what I thought when I read this. It sure would be nice if others who say that he's a KGB thug read it. As I said, I don't know that much about his career, but it looks like he's been doing some good things for Russia. And as you stated, he gave some of the oligarchs a chance on what direction they wanted their lives to go. Thanks for doing that.

My bar for blacks is pretty much on the ground. I’m afraid a lot of that is a shady crowd I ran with in my youth.

However, there’s this…

I spent several months in Ft Worth last year doing some custom carpentry. My clients were about 50/50 black white. A few Mexies too but not many. Middle to upper middle class. My black clients were some of the nicest folks I met while I was there. Invited to to dinner a number of times and believe it or not, my biggest tip was from a black man.

Things look a bit different when you’re not living in 5 Points which was the black section of Denver.

I still don’t want to live anywhere where there’s more than an infrequent sighting of a black.

. . . come up with a profile of the typical Rachel watcher.

I know a rather elderly gentleman that watches her and the rest of the lying shills on MSNBS. But this guy's approaching dementia, as long as I've known him he's been rather stubborn and immune to reason on a whole range of personal issues, and throughout his life, good sound judgment in has not been his strong suit.

In other words, I know his "character" to be sorely lacking.

To quote someone: "If you can't admit that Russia helped put Trump in the White House by now, it is because you are not looking at the evidence."

Sorta can go both ways. DNC leaders see Mueller's investigation ending with no collusion charges, so the law suite to keep the narrative going.

Or, Mueller has something, and DNC is piling on.

A diversion from progressive primary challenges talking about single payer, etc.

Loyality to Hillary and more tangible way to get revenge for her. Organizationally the DNC has a mind meld with Clinton, and she wants blood NOW.

@MrWebster I can't help thinking that the diversion you mentioned is the primary (lame pun intended) purpose of the DNC lawsuit. I believe the DNC functionaries and their party so-called leadership would rather lose the mid-terms than have to deal with a wave of progressives in office. For years their main argument against supporting progressive challengers and progressive legislation is something like Those bums can't win elections. Only now the bums are winning.

the attorneys for both sides have a very wide leeway in questioning. When my wife at the time sued her employer for laying her off for being pregnant the lawyers questioned me about any extra-marital affairs I may have had. Really.

Imagine if you could take a deposition from Hillary Clinton on all you wanted.

That's why this lawsuit is merely a diversion. In past cases when a potential witness was about to expose the Deep State's involvement they generally ended up dead. Not sure that they'd do that to Hilz because even if they did there are too many others that can be brought to testify.
