(Not a surprise): Swamp: Guess Who Set Up Andrew McCabe's Legal Fund?

This is just getting more obscenely ridiculous by the day.

Swamp: Guess Who Set Up Andrew McCabe's Legal Fund?

Sometimes things in Washington, D.C. are entirely too predictable.

As Guy wrote, fired Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe raked in more than $500,000 from leftist sympathizers this week after setting up a legal fund and blasting President Trump. As a reminder, McCabe was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions after the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and the DOJ Inspector General recommended he be terminated for a lack of candor.

But it turns out, McCabe's pay day wasn't a result of a grassroots effort to defend him against false attacks. The GoFundMe page was set up by a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm connected to President Barack Obama. From Law & Crime (bolding is mine):

She’s also McCabe’s present spokesperson.

The Bromwich Group is a K Street consulting and PR firm headed by Michael R. Bromwich. Immediately prior to founding the firm, Bromwich served as the first director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management under President Barack Obama.

The Empty Suit hasn’t been strutting his stuff around lately. At least not in public. Maybe he only does private speeches because his ass just might be in trouble somewhere down the line.

Ms. McCabe, Andrew Did Not Separate Himself From Your VA Senate Run, He Used His FBI Email To Campaign For You

Over the weekend McCabe's wife, Jill McCabe, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post claiming her husband never used official resources to support her campaign for the Virginia Senate. McCabe in fact did use his official FBI email to ask fellow agents for support.

An October 23, 2016, email shows McCabe running the response effort to a Wall Street Journal article that was published that day, titled “Clinton Ally Aided Campaign of FBI Official’s Wife.” McCabe provides Michael Kortan, the assistant director of Public Affairs, his version of a timeline of events surrounding the Clinton investigation and his wife’s campaign. McCabe said he contacted then-FBI Chief of Staff Chuck Roseburg about Jill McCabe’s candidacy and was told that “the D [Comey] has no issue with it.” (Judicial Watch earlier this month released documents showing that McCabe finally did recuse himself from the Clinton investigation only a week before last year’s presidential election.)

Internally, the Wall Street Journal article started a flurry of emails among Mrs. McCabe’s campaign, Kortan, Director McCabe, and the FBI’s General Counsel. Part of that exchange is an email from McCabe to someone in the General Counsel’s Office: “Sucks pretty much. Buckle in. It’s going to get rough.” The colleague responds, “I know. It’s awful. I shouldn’t be shocked by now, but I really am appalled.” McCabe also forwarded the article to Comey who responded, “Copy.”

On October 24, 2016, a memo was sent to all Special Agents in Charge, Assistant Directors, Executive Directors and the General Counsel’s Office regarding the Wall Street Journal article discussing campaign activities concerning Mrs. McCabe. Kortan suggested that questions could be referred to his office and he attached an “Overview of Deputy Director McCabe’s Recusal Related To Dr. McCabe’s Campaign for Political Office.” The Overview itself was previously reported by Judicial Watch.

On November 2, 2015, Mrs. McCabe forwards an email to her husband – then the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Office – that accuses her opponent of extorting local businessmen. The email was sent to her husband’s official FBI account.

Maybe my disgust and hatred for these units is being exacerbated by the fact that I have to go conservative sites and read crap like this to find the truth abour the ‘party’ I faithfully supported for over 40 years.

"E-mail communications recently released by the FBI in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show that Deputy Director Andrew McCabe may have violated the Hatch Act and corresponding Department regulations prohibiting political activity during his wife’s 2015 campaign for the Virginia Senate," a December 2017 letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein says. "According to guidance from the DOJ’s Departmental Ethics Office, under 5 C.F.R. § 734.101-702, FBI employees are forbidden from “engag[ing] in political activity while on duty, in a federal facility, wearing a uniform or official insignia, or using a federally-owned or leased vehicle."

Bless your infallible nose for news, even if it must wrinkle from the smell of both some of the sources and the content!

Funny the way there's always more shamefully and even more disgusting dirt behind the filth we already found heaped unbelievably high. If we find they've burrowed any lower than we currently know them to be, they'll be due to burrow straight into either lava or hell, depending upon your belief system, so there's that...

craziest stuff. It’s taken me to a place where I’m not sure anymore who’s crazier. A) The slugs in DC milking us dry while stealing or corrupting everything they can, B) The fools that support them, or C) Us for trying to fight them.

Maybe the right selection should be D) All of the above.

Seems like the DNC is following Zuckerberg’s business plan. Screw their base with behind the scenes chicanery, when caught wag their fingers and blame the victim, and then come back with more useless “I’m sorry, we really didn’t mean to (List Latest Offense Here) and we promise to straighten up and fly right. This time. Again.”

to donate to his legal fund even though he hasn't even been charged for anything yet. And why in the Hell would people give him their money anyway? Just because he said some bad things about Donald and he was fired two days before he could have drawn early retirement? Or did people think that he wasn't going to get it at all? Too bad that stupidity is unlawful.

I wonder if it had been someone from the republican side of the isle that used a private email server, was told to turn over all of them and then deleted 30,000 of them, would Hillary's supporters think that they had broken the law? That they refuse to see that she did break the law is just unbelievable.

Or what they would think if it was Trump who was saying that Russia interfered with the election? Would they be laughing their blue butts off at him? I say yes to both questions.

was like he was going to completely lose his pension. They didn’t come right out and say it. They’d use phrases like “before he is eligible to retire” and the like. It was soooooo disingenuous the way tried to make it sound like poor Andy was going to have to stand on a street corner in his old age selling matchsticks and begging for spare change.

The reports that are flying across the news, Twitter, and Facebook are that McCabe was just two days short of retirement and that this move by Sessions will, as, for instance, Vox, reports, “cost him his federal pension.” On Twitter, Andrea Mitchell writes:

One suggestion from a McCabe supporter: if a friendly member of Congress hired him for a week he could possibly qualify for pension benefits by extending his service the extra days

https://www.forbes.com/sites/ebauer/2018/03/17/no-andrew-mccabe-isnt-los...

He’s been with the FBI for a long time. Since 1996. That’s plenty of time to get good at rigging situations, pulling fast ones, and fudging the truth to get the results he wants.

Oh yeah. It was easy to find out he was vested in his pension after 5 years. He just can’t take it at 50 because he got fired.

Rachel asked her viewers to donate to his fundraiser. I don't remember how she phrased it, but that is one reason why people knew that he had one up. GFM is full of people who have no money for their illnesses or surgery or numerous other issues that a decent country would provide them. And that is why his fundraiser was so horrible.

Another thing that Russia Gate has done is get people to think that the intelligence agencies are their friends. Comey was vilified when he reopened Hillary's emails investigation and then when he was fired because he was investigating Trump, people were upset about it. Same thing with Tillerson. "Oh not him, he's too friendly with Putin." Then when he was replaced with Bolton it was because Putin told Trump to do it.

Trump put more sanctions on some Russian oligarchs like people wanted him to do, but he didn't do it fast enough because he had to wait until Putin told him that it's okay to do it now. Hell, no matter what Trump does he can't win. He's done more things against Russia than Obama did and it's still not enough. Sigh.

I have no idea what I meant to say with this:

Too bad that stupidity is unlawful. Sigh

You're trying to analyze this situation using classical political theory and you're not getting the results one might expect. But this is the 21st century and you need to be looking at this through the lens of quantum political theory. Then it will become obvious that all possible Putin plans exist simultaneously. It is the act of observation which collapses the political waveform and allows us to determine a specific plan to complain about.

A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

@SnappleBC

That explains why so many official stories keep altering when politicians get caught lying/in criminal actions - the mere fact of public observation potentially changes everything!

wasn't Hillary justifying what she did - during a debate - by the Bush Admin doing something rather similar?

I finally broke down and posted a comment in some asinine diary there trying to inflict some type of sanity and posted to a website that they refuse to read because it was mean to Her at one time. One of the new users told me that he won't read anything from there because of that and I said something about his being selective, he said that "I don't want those types of sites being mentioned here!"

This person had made very few comments because he had joined last month and he is telling a long time user who can post what there. The newer users are also attacking longtime members and instead of getting flagged for it, they are being rec'd. New diary up today addressing that issue.

Yep, fun times there.
