Kinda like an above ground one. It's actually made out of cement and it's starting to crumble. I think there is some writing on it that you see above what I think looks like a butterfly, but I can't read it. I'll ask my friend about it and get back to you.

There are two little girls who are buried under that tree and their families decorate it for the seasons. The guys who take care of the grounds always weed eat out a heart around their graves.
There are a lot of children buried there. Many of them died in 1890-1920 and I always wondered why they died. It's sad to see how old they would be now.
As I've said before, I see something interesting there every day. Wish I could figure out why my camera eats batteries. Nothing I've tried has worked. My phone camera is so limited and my slr is so heavy. On the days I take it, I don't see anything worth taking. Murphy strikes..
Hoping to get some help from the birders. A bird lit by my window and I think it was trying to get the window putty. I've never seen one like this before.
It was the size of a crow with a red head. The feathers were striped brown kinda like that falcon, but more straight. The tail feathers were white like the Gyrfalcon.
Anyone have any ideas for what type of bird it was? I have no idea what to search for to find out what it was. Very beautiful though.

It has some red on its head, but not enough. This ones head had much more red on it and the colors were brown and then grey and white on its tail. I've seen them and I think they are smaller than the one I saw today.
Doh! My camera was right there. I could have taken a photo of it. Oh well, it took off when I moved the blinds. If I drew it it'd look like a mix between a bird and a grizzly. I can't draw a straight line... I was always picked last for pictionary.

Here's a couple of links for bird identification that might help id the bird you saw.

More of the face was red, the body was brown and the tail feathers were black and white. I looked at the links SP gave but didn't see it. It was much bigger than a woodpecker. I have never seen one like that before. It was so beautiful. Hopefully it will come back and I can get a photo.

Grumpy or not, I always enjoy your company. Mimi the bunny was named after Mimi, of Mimi und Brumm children's books. They were by far our favourite stories. Check one out sometime.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you see things, photographically. A little 'street' photography would be very welcome.

Birding has been very slow. I got out today but didn't see anything unusual. Between the sun and snow reflecting I couldn't see much of anything. We're in the 6-8" range of snow forecast through tomorrow night. Yay.
But here's another cake I made:
Oh wow, those photos are spectacular. I'll need to look them up. I'd love to see the northern lights in person.

I had another recipe I wanted to try and it was close enough to Valentine's day I thought why not? I have some other recipes that I need to tweak, but I need to start selling more. Maybe for St. Patrick's day I will; I still have a can of Guinness that I need to use!

Hi snoopy
What and where is that clay creation?
It's a grave marker

Thanks for identifying it.
There is writing above the butterfly. The sculpture is beautiful in it's crumbling state.
The photo is of my daughter’s ten-year-old interpretation of her bunny Mimi, made with paper mâché.
The other is the bare branches of the Kawakawa bush, after removing the leaves for tea.
I bet you’ve given Daenerys food for thought - bunny cakes!
Thanks!
That ornament made me go 'whoa!' when first seeing it.
Fred is growing. We think he'll be a large cat (his paws certainly are).

That would be out of it's range though...and smaller than a crow. My other guess is a flicker.
