The children are our future. And that is why, ultimately, we're screwed unless we do something about it. If you haven't noticed, the children who are our future are good-looking, but they aren't all that bright. As dense as they might be, they will eventually notice that adults have spent all the money, spread disease, and turned the planet into a smoky, filthy ball of death. We're raising an entire generation of dumb, pissed-off kids who know where the handguns are kept. This is not a good recipe for a happy future.

What the funk?
When will the power elite stand up to the bullies and intimidators? Funkin' chickens always protect their domain, and leave the rest of us to deal with the gun strokers.
Congress is moving forward with its new “guns everywhere” proposal
It would require states with strict gun control laws to follow looser state laws when those states’ residents visit
A new law is working its way through Congress that, if passed, would destroy each state's ability to pass its own gun control laws — letting states with weak gun control laws overrule states with strict ones. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would make it so that people who are granted a license to carry a concealed firearm in their own state could do so everywhere in the country, according to CBS News. The bill has already passed the House of Representatives and is supported by President Donald Trump, meaning that it only needs to pass in the Senate before it becomes the law of the land.
America’s unique gun violence problem, explained in 17 maps and charts
In the developed world, these levels of gun violence are a uniquely American problem. Here’s why.America is an exceptional country when it comes to guns. It’s one of the few countries in which the right to bear arms is constitutionally protected. But America’s relationship with guns is unique in another crucial way: Among developed nations, the US is far and away the most violent — in large part due to the easy access many Americans have to firearms. These charts and maps show what that violence looks like compared with the rest of the world, why it happens, and why it’s such a tough problem to fix.

year of the dog
Happy Chinese New Year!
Year of the Dog
"Recent years of the dog before 2018 are 2006, 1994, 1982, 1970, 1958, 1946 and 1934.
In Asian astrology, a person’s birth year and the zodiac animal it represents determines many personality traits.
"Each animal has different meanings, but we think people born in dog years are very sincere, they're very loyal to friends," Mei Li, the marketing manager of Chinese Community Center in Houston, previously told Newsweek.
The dog’s most defining characteristic is loyalty. People who were born in a Year of the Dog supposedly never abandon their family, friends or work. They are just and honest people, and popular in social circles.
“Everyone needs a Dog friend for advice and help. They are also good at helping others find and fix their bad habits,” the website ChineseNewYear2018.com states. “Despite how they act, they are worried and anxious inside. However, they will not let this stop them. Once they decide on something, no one can persuade them against it.”
Chinese New Year is celebrated with public displays of the zodiac animal."
FWIW, 2006 was also the year of the Democrat, in terms of winning elections--and Trump makes Bush 43 look good, which I didn't think was possible. However 1994 was also the year New Democrats finally cut FDR's incredibly long coattails, once and for all.
I love reading about New Year superstitions and traditions of all kinds, especially Chinese. I encourage everyone to google some and have fun with them. One Chinese New Year tradition is giving kids money in red envelopes and now there's an app for that! Chinese New Year lasts a couple of weeks, so get some take out or google some recipes and make some at home (and invite me). Cutting stuff during this time supposedly cuts your luck, so wrap those long Chinese noodles around your fork when you chow down.
Hey, I resemble that remark
I was born in the year of the dawg and I have to admit that the description of traits suits me well. I'm also a Libra which have some of the same traits. My biggest problem is making a decision by myself. I have to get other's opinions and advice and often form a committee before I can make one.

Don't know why that popped to mind when I read your OT - I guess it's a life lived with guns and the product of living that way. Have a good day all!

Good morning, Biker Tim. :-)
Your Fat Tuesday music thread was a good one (as usual). Those upbeat tunes are just what's needed with this latest gun massacre in South Florida. I graduated from high school in southern Broward County so know the area. When school is no longer a safe sanctuary for learning, one knows that this country/culture is beyond hope. Anywho, here's another cover of a great NOLA standard.

Hey, Tim. Sad, tough subject.
The other side is, if this country does finally come apart at the seams, the only ones unarmed when the crap hits the fan will be the left. The right, the security guards, the military (all branches), the Secret Service, the National Guard, state militia, the state and local militarized police, Homeland Security and on and on will all be armed. Just not us.
Me, I don't need a gun because I'd never shoot anyone. However, I'd sure like a bulletproof vest, a bulletproof helmet and a bulletproof face mask. Gas mask, too.
While I do own a gun
"Me, I don't need a gun because I'd never shoot anyone. However, I'd sure like a bulletproof vest, a bulletproof helmet and a bulletproof face mask. Gas mask, too."
When shit hits the fan all I need is to be out of range.
I'll be bookin' it for the border, tossing my gun as I cross.
May even leave before then.
You are absolutely correct though, they will have all the weapons. And after spending years monitoring sites like Breitbart, it's their wet dream to hunt down libtards, demoncraps, socialists, and commies and "rid" the country of anyone......well, unarmed really.
It"s how they are. Hateful, vile, mean, and mostly, extremely frightened, even of unarmed, pacifist, limp wristed, peacelovers.
After all the easy meat is dealt with, they will turn on themselves. First, martial law, whereas anyone found with a gun and not in uniform will be summarily executed. Then a purging of the military and police. Next will be the elimination of the governing class, state and federal politicians, or those who only thought they were the actual governing class.
What will be left will be a feudalistic society ruled by an aristocracy, which will probably spread to Canada.
Mexico will become a kind of Afganistan, ungovernable, lawless, unconquerable, much as it is today. Ironically, likely the safest place to run.
IMHO, anyway.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
We have guns in the house.
This shit is bananas.
Good morning, Tim~~~
Been down with the flu.
We are a country of war - whether it be with other countries or with our own people.
Perhaps that's^^^^^^^ the intent.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, everyone.
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
This is wrong.
The culture of worshipping Violence, the abdication of OUR responsibility to ensure education, respect for each other and personal accountability and recognizing the WORTH/VALUE of individuals are more of a problem imo.
Also,we export violence around the world: "If the GOV'T uses violence to 'solve' its foreign problems, then Hell, I'll use a weapon to 'solve' my domestic issues!"
Or at least end them.
Having weapons of war easily available DOES NOT HELP! (Why do we HAVE weapons of war?)
Mental health(HA!) is Not the issue: a society that no longer advocates for Community is.
A society that preaches "I got mine!" is the issue.
A society whose (s)elected leaders fuck over the populace is the issue.
A society that holds your only worth as a dollar amount in some account is the issue.
Yes, there is much, much, more we All could add to the list.
I'm too fucking tired to do so.

Didn't seem to work that well, though

The Second Amendment has two clauses. Antonin
“Currently Roasting in Hell” Scalia made the bullsh!t argument that only the second clause mattered. This has allowed the insane gun policies we have in this country today. Scalia’s argument that the first clause did not limit the second clause has meant that no limits can be imposed with fewer and fewer exceptions.
