DWS wanted Michigan Mayor kicked out of debate for cheering for Bernie
Here's a concept: people don't like being told who they can support and who not to support.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has become nothing more than a petty dictator and she is harming the Democratic Party.
A Michigan mayor was threatened with ejection from Sunday’s Democratic debate in Flint, Mich., for voicing his support for one candidate, BuzzFeed News reports.
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, who was sitting behind Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, said he was complimenting Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). But staffers for the DNC said Fouts was “being very disruptive,” according to BuzzFeed.
The mayor said he and his assistant were pulled aside by security during a commercial break and were told that people had asked for him to be removed.
“The sergeant-at-arms said, ‘The people that run this want you ejected, they don’t want you here,’” Fouts said.
When asked if it was Wasserman Schultz making the request, Fouts said, “The security guy said, ‘Don’t say I said it.’”
...
“The Democratic debate is totally controlled by Hillarys [sic] good friend DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz,” Fouts wrote in a Facebook post. “No commentary is allowed by the audience. Particularly if you are cheering Bernie Sanders. Persons who do not adhere to Hillarys [sic] rules are threatened with expulsion.”
He also said the Democratic Party’s debate process “borders on totalitarian control” and, in an interview on Monday, he said Wasserman Schultz should resign.
Remember that this is the same DWS that wants to gut Elizabeth Warren's financial reforms.
To date, the GOP blitz has resulted in a few close shaves for the young agency, but no actual defeats. But the industry has cultivated a powerful new ally in recent weeks: Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).
Wasserman Schultz is co-sponsoring a new bill that would gut the CFPB’s forthcoming payday loan regulations. She’s also attempting to gin up Democratic support for the legislation on Capitol Hill, according to a memo obtained by The Huffington Post.
And she's a close friend of Hillary. I wonder what conclusions we can draw from that?
STFU and fall into line just ain't going to cut it this year.
I bet DWS would like to eject Michigan voters in general.
At a party for Clinton supporters in Detroit, many were shocked as results began to flood in – especially as just a day earlier their candidate had effectively called on Sanders to drop out and “end the primary”.
Democrats need to Wake The Fuck Up! Because it's shit like this is why the GOP is imploding.
If the Dems don't start respecting its own voters then it will implode just like the GOP is now. The Democrats are just one or two election cycles behind.
Or as thirty three and a third said in his diary yesterday:
It’s blatantly obvious that what is happening is an insurrection against the establishment, against a rigged system, crony capitalism, party insiders deciding what’s best for you.

She's always been a Clinton/corporate shill
From co-chair of the Clinton campaign in 2008 (and we all remember the missteps and dog whistles during that primary, right?) to playing Overlord of the DNC and weighting the playing field as much as she can, her tune has never changed.
Another little fish that wants to be a big player in the Clinton pond. My fondest wish is for her and all her compatriots to wallow in obscurity for the rest of their days.
You nailed, it. Of course,
it's not a surprise--DWS is a former DLCer!
Handsome fella, jiordan. Your story [at the other thread] reminded me of the dear English Cocker Spaniel that we had when we first married. As a pup, she was terribly destructive, even though she had tons of toys.
She tore a clock off the wall (by the cord), and chewed it to pieces. She so destroyed a huge easy chair we had, that Mr M and I carried it out to the community dumpster in the dark of the night--out of sheer embarrassment! It made sense to us to keep the sofa for a while, hoping that she wouldn't light into other furniture/furnishings.
Almost to the day that she turned one year old--her destructive ways were shed. She was a sweet and precious girl--we wouldn't have changed anything about her.
Have a good one.

That's a beauty you've got, too
Hubby and I let the couch remain decimated for a couple of months before we had it re-upholstered in case he wanted to continue his pac man ways, but when we finally did get it fixed, he ate it AGAIN. And, of course, multiple toys weren't nearly as good. We often joked that his other toys just didn't smell enough like our butts to keep him interested But aggravation aside, a couch can always be replaced/fixed, but what pets bring into our lives...nothing else compares.

And so as not to thread jack (should I use a different term for that? I don't know if that's a standard term on the internet or something unique to the GOS), yes, Wasserman-Schultz is one I've long despised. I didn't like her in 2008 and could NOT understand (well, not until the primary started) why she got tagged for the DNC because anyone else overseeing party losses like she did in '14 would have been fired. She's not just a shill, she's incompentent.
Thanks--Mister B has various medical issues,
he's a special needs Springer; but I'll save the gory details for another day. BTW, if we should get the capacity to have 'Groups' here one day, I'd love to see a Pet Group so that we could talk about them on a dedicated thread. (Of course, that's possible within a diary, now.) You'll be on the list to notify--it's such great fun to meet other dog lovers!
And, yes--'thread hijacking' is a pertinent term, here. However, rules here on that (thus far) have been relatively relaxed. If there is a change, I fully expect that Admin would put forth some guidelines, in time.
For now, myself and other 'old timers' are trying to meet and welcome new members, which is our highest priority. So, until I'm told otherwise, I figure a comment relevant to the topic is sufficient, which we both proferred in our remarks.
Hey, have a wonderful day of celebration!

DWS would love to see Berners do this
Progressive to the bone.
She's a feature, not a bug.
Unfortunately for her, DWS has been given the Corporal job in a unit with a penny ante dictator for a Staff Sergeant with delusions of grandeur.
So, she's gonna be taking quite a lot of shit, which she hopes will be forgotten when she gets that 3rd stripe.
Unfortunately, she's doing such a crappy job, DWS will never get her invite to the cabinet, unless her DIRECT boss gets promoted.
Let us all pray that never happens.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Didn't she also oppose
the election of Democrats in FL that would replace her good GOP buddies in the House? And this woman became the chairperson of the committee that's supposed to elect Democrats? She's the main reason why I'm probably re-registering as "no party affiliation" after the June primaries.
Indeed she did
DWS is all about what benefits DWS. Which I find hysterically funny given the "toe the party line" crap I keep hearing about the general. If DWS thought someone besides HRC could get her up the ladder, she'd push her in front of a train so fast you'd blink and miss it. Much like the reporter from House of Cards.
Which reminds me, I've got a tv marathon to get ready for this weekend...
I call her
Debbie 'what kill list' Wasserman. this was her reply to an internet reporter who asked her about Obama's Tuesday hit list. It was caught on camera and made the internet rounds. Her voting with Republican's doesn't sit well with me. She and Mary Landrieau have always struck me as DINO's of the worst type. I wonder why the Third Way Democratic party machine thinks they can get away with treating Democrat's worse then they do Republican's?
