Comparing the corrupt DNC to Bernie Sanders
The DNC has introduced a resolution calling on Bernie Sanders to officially join the Democratic Party.
Mulholland's resolution says that "the DNC recognizes the important contributions of the independent senators from Maine and Vermont to causes at the heart of the Democratic Party's mission and urge them to run as a Democrats."
It also says that "the DNC urges elected officials, candidates and voters who share common goals and beliefs with Democrats to register or affiliate with the Democratic party in 2017, 2018 and beyond."
Sanders' spokesman didn't respond to a question about the DNC resolution.
It's an ironic juxtaposition, considering how much the DNC has done to undermine Sanders in the past. In fact, just today the DNC disrespected Sanders yet again.
DNC Chairman Tom Perez released the list of his 75 nominees to join the Democratic National Committee yesterday, and you might recognize one or two of the names on it.
...Donna Brazile is a lifetime Democrat, serving on the campaigns of numerous failed presidential candidates. She was also the interim chair of the DNC—the predecessor to Perez himself.
She also worked for CNN in 2016, which is when she forwarded town hall questions to the Clinton campaign ahead of time. Brazile would justify this in a later essay for Time by saying “My job was to make all our Democratic candidates look good, and I worked closely with both campaigns to make that happen. But sending those emails was a mistake I will forever regret.” You’ll notice that she does not say she regrets informing the Clinton campaign, merely that she regrets doing so in a traceable medium.

— MiamiGator (@GeoffMiami) October 17, 2017
The DNC telling Sanders what he is morally obligated to do is laughable when you take into account the news from yesterday.
“There is no doubt that at the time Chairman Perez donated or transferred the funds, he was an agent of the DNC, the funds were related to the DNC, and the DNC’s response to the donation demonstrates Perez was acting on the DNC’s behalf,” the complaint read. “Allowing this behavior to go unpunished opens the door for a new level of corruption in party elections—offering campaign cash for support from former opponents. The Commission must immediately investigate and enforce the law.”
And then there is the news from the other week.
The DNC, meanwhile, announced last week that it would donate $30,000 it had received from Weinstein — out of $300,000 he donated to it over the years. But rather than donate the money to charity, the DNC said it would send it to groups that elect women.
...But donating the money to other Democratic groups is a particularly bold strategy. The DNC might as well have just set it aside and said it would reserve that money only for the many female candidates it supports. Of course, we'd never know the difference. As it stands, though, Weinstein's money is basically going to the same cause as he intended — just more narrowly focused on female Democratic candidates.
"Bold" isn't the word I would use. I think "unethical" would be a better word.
The DNC's open corruption has other consequences, and they show up in a way that the DNC actually cares about - money.
Despite DNC Chair Tom Perez’s dismissal of the issue, the organization’s fundraising is plummeting under his leadership. In the month of August, the DNC only raised $3.8 million. In contrast, the RNC raised $7.6 million, almost exactly twice as much. The DNC has $4 million worth of debt, whereas the RNC has no debt. Worse yet, the RNC has $45.8 million in cash on hand, and the DNC has just $6.8 million. August is not an anomaly; it’s a sign of a continuing trend. July 2017 was the DNC’s worst fundraising month since January 2009. In June, the DNC didn’t fare much better, and the organization posted fundraising lows in April and May unseen in nearly a decade for those months.
Now let's compare the DNC's fundraising troubles to Bernie Sanders.
Thinking about running against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in 2018?
If so, consider this. According to his latest campaign finance report, submitted to the Federal Election Commission last weekend, his senatorial campaign fund has an astounding $5.86 million in cash on hand.
It would be virtually impossible to spend that much money in Vermont, even if Sanders were to face a real challenge.
...A recent Newsweek headline blared that Sanders' presidential fund was $300,000 in debt. That's technically true but misleading. Sanders has a few unpaid obligations, mostly security costs for campaign events, but weep not for Bernie. He's sitting on a pile.
Bernie Sanders, a single independent Senator, has more money than the entire DNC. No other Senator has even half of the cash of Bernie.
Gosh, you don't suppose that the DNC's naked corruption has something to do with that, do you?

If he doesn't join the DNC, he's a traitor, and will continue to be blamed for 2016 and possibly Russia.
If he does, and never intended to deliver his voters unto the DNC, he'll just be shooting his credibility in the head with an UZI.
If he does, and always intended to deliver his voters unto the DNC, Apparently he thinks that the flashing neon light and Club jacket will be the trick to nailing the Judas Goat routine.
And if it's all about the money, which seems the most likely, does he really want to continue giving money to the Clinton Foundation... And be counted among such luminous public figures as Weinstein...
No way to win this one. Good job, DNC.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.

You've nailed it, DMW! From what I'm reading,
the 2018 midterm is Bernie's to deliver according to the Dem Party Leadership. And, it's also the reason that he's increasingly being put forth as the face of the Party. As I type, he's participating in the second CNN Town Hall in several weeks--as the Dem Party representative. (It's another Cruz versus Sanders Debate.)
From Wikipedia,
In addition, the call is for both Independent Senators to join the Dem Party. See below.

Well, I believe that Bernie's actually just trying to save his fellow-Americans from further avoidable for-profit-inflicted suffering in any way he thinks he might be able to help, rather than saving the Dem party itself, unless it perhaps really can (despite electoral and other cheating) be repopulated with those who actually believe in democracy and a government working for, rather than against, the public interest and thereby shutting out corporate political purchases of politicians and policy until sane finance law can be passed.
And since he knows that both sides of the Two-Faced Corporate Party are ruthless and have never been brought to account over routine corruption and cheating and that the selection process is effectively closed to any other political parties, he needs to continue to move with great caution.

Hi, CStMS! Hey, I agree with you; I was
just regurgitating what I've read about the expectations of the Dem Party Leadership. Generally, it sounds like they're willing to at least 'parrot' Bernie's campaign agenda, since they're desperate to take the House and Senate. IOW, they're hoping that he can bring back many of the folks who fled the Party this past November.
I didn't mean to imply that I thought Bernie's obligated to do anything for the Dems. If I had my way, he'd tell them to take a hike.
Hope you feeling better by now!

Well, I think not being a Democrat (or republican) is a plus
The truth is I'm already deleting his emails without reading them, and no longer sending money. I gave several small (~ $10-50) donations during the campaign, but not since he endorsed Hilz and then the "unity tour" -- but I haven't left entirely. I still keep an eye on what he's doing, maybe still secretly (ok, not so secretly) hoping he will eventually split with them and take them down. But I don't expect that. I won't donate even now, because of his association with the party.
If he were to bow to this pressure, and officially join the party, I'm out. I'd unsubscribe from his list and never look back again. If the Dems think they are going to accomplish anything with this, other than deepening the rift, they're dead wrong.
At any rate, it's currently just some jackass making waves. I think the goal is to further alienate berniecrats from the party. I seriously doubt Bernie is going to give a crap about this. It's grandstanding, and I expect he will dismiss it with little fanfare.
@CS in AZ Yeah, I agree.
There seems to be some disagreement up there whether they want to use him to be the kinder, gentler face of the Democratic party, rake up some credibility from the dying embers, or whether they want to use him as a scapegoat. They're trying to do both, and it looks remarkably stupid.
OTOH, like you said, Bernie is clearly part of their operation, and the closer he gets to them, the less cred he has.

@Ellen North Well, and then there
And this:
And this:
Here's a good takedown of that last obnoxious comment:
Hillary Rodham Clinton vowed Wednesday to continue her quest for the Democratic nomination, arguing she would be the stronger nominee because she appeals to a wider coalition of voters — including whites who have not supported Barack Obama in recent contests.
“I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article “that found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”
“There’s a pattern emerging here,” she said.
Indeed, a pattern has emerged some time ago. Boy, did we dodge a bullet.
“[W]orking, hard-working Americans, white Americans”. She really said that. Wow.
Congratulations, Hillary Clinton, you win the prize for the first Democratic Bigot Eruption since I’ve been keeping track of this. Even professional haters like Pat Buchanan and his ilk aren’t so balls-out about racism. You’ve been getting your ass handed to you and especially among black voters. This shows me once again that we – who are apparently lazy and shiftless non-Americans based on your definition – have yet again been a leading indicator.
There was maybe a slight chance Barack Obama might have been pushed to pick you as his running mate, but we can’t have someone spouting Klan-style talking points on the ticket. Heck, there’s a good shot with language like that you won’t win back your senate seat in 2012. I mean, a lot of those apparently lazy and shiftless non-American blacks helped you to win and they’d just as soon vote for someone else in the primary or the Republican in the election rather than someone echoing Bull Connor’s language.
“Working, hard working Americans, white Americans”, indeed.

And then there's this:
Which led to this:
Clinton aides claim Obama photo wasn't intended as a smear
Barack Obama's campaign team today accused Hillary Clinton's beleaguered staff of mounting a desperate dirty tricks operation by circulating a picture of him in African dress, feeding into false claims on US websites that he is a Muslim.
Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, described it as "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election". Obama has had to spend much of the campaign stressing he is a Christian not a Muslim and did not study at a madrassa.

Maybe they just want to issue gag orders to all Sanders supporters, after depriving them of their voting rights? They must know by now that supporting corruption is not something that'll go over big in a 'woke' demographic.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
@travelerxxx
Oooooo, I like your thinking! Or, perhaps, a brick?
Edit: don't know how I read your comment as 'gluing a stone' to the empty donation return envelope... I haz skillz and a burnt-out light bulb in here.
Got 'cannot connect to server', trying again...

More boring Outreach theater from D Public Relations office
Yeah, Bernie and the Ds are on opposing sides. LOL yeah right. Smells like Tad Devine, PU. I heard the Brooklyn Bridge was for sale too, ha ha. Bernie is protecting his plum seat in the Senate, and talk talk talking wherever media will listen, keeping up appearances for the duopoly. Same as it ever was.
GOTV for Ds, because Rs are meanies. Same shit, different day. Sanders has his own stable of mills and bills now. Millionaires and billionaires, hey look at the new one! "That's the system." Media propaganda at its finest.
"Our Revolution" is big business, trademarked of course. Book deals and talks shows all around, money flows. Can't get any more Orwellian then that title, that's what I keep thinking. Voting only makes it worse, encouraging the politicians to continue their addictions. In and out the revolving doors of corruption, "We're capitalists." Buy one, get one free?
Go Away Bernie
Fake 2018
good luck

Bernie Sanders Still Wants To Transform The Democratic Party (HBO)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn4baWjs8JA
Youtube is blocked here so I can't test that link, hope it still works. Or maybe someone already posted it, I can't tell without some text to say what is embedded (hint hint), all I see is a blank black box. I downloaded that vid when it published, just watched the first half again. So take out the "boring" I am hooked like an addict. The Outreach theater department is kicking DNC Executive ass. Whoop whoop!
You know it is possible to have national elections without the DNC, right? They're just a bunch of C-level corporate hags at this point, can't even raise clean money anymore. Real drag on democracy. Bernie's idea is to have a more open D party, BYOB. Bring your own booty. Boo-tay! Bring it.
My problem is with the system itself, Real Bernie can never get enough votes with all these corrupt little election fiefdoms everywhere, including California and New York. Now under DHS control. Hm, what about Goldman Sachs? What about the unelected assholes currently pulling the puppet strings? They will never allow him or anyone like him enough votes to win and get some handle on Wall Street, just a few token campaigns here and there. Don't be fooled, this is not a democracy. We need a real revolution, not another fake Democrat campaign. That's my problem. I think young people "get it" too, but Bernie is leading them down the rabbit hole where politicians get rich, and that's about it. One step forward, two steps back.
good luck
