Reddit lit-up last night with a flurry of news about the Seth Rich investigation.

At the same time, Twitter was yanking down the trending tags as fast as they could — but the story overwhelmed:

WikiLeaks on Twitter: Audio tape of Seymour Hersh discussing WikiLeaks DNC leaks and Seth Rich

Journalists published an array of stories across the Internet, including such headlines as:

ShareBlue was out in full force today. The Deep State is scared.

Awan had access to Seth Rich's emails. Is this how the DNC knew it was him?

Anonymous had this to say:

And then there was this: With any luck, it will end the dangerous DNC election kabuki and significantly improve relations between the US and Russia.

Seth Rich. According to Seymour Hersh, Panda wanted $ for his leaks to WIKILEAKS. Explains why family tried to squash investigation.

See? It's simply yet another "Trump is bad" story. And Dembots like nothing more than a "Trump is bad" story, unless it's a "Fox News is bad" story. A Trump and Fox News are bad story? Quiver!

Nothing to see here, other than Trump and Fox News are bad, which we've known all along. Yawn. Move along quietly now, please. (Just ignore the Trump supporters and the leftists, both of whom simply bought the fake news story.)

Trump, a billionaire funder, and a law suit against Fox News.

Fox News coordinated with White House on Seth Rich story, Fox contributor's lawsuit claims

A lawsuit filed Tuesday lays out a tale of Trump allies, the White House and Fox News Channel conspiring to push a false story about Democratic leaks and an unsolved killing in order to distract attention from the Russia investigation that has been swirling around the president.

The defamation suit was filed against Fox by an investigator, Rod Wheeler, who had been looking into the killing of Seth Rich, a former Democratic National Committee staff member killed in 2016 in what police say was a botched robbery. Wheeler alleges that Fox quoted him as saying things he never said and was willing to show President Trump its article before publication. [more]

Both stories can exist separately and at the same time. Trump the show boater, Wheeler the Fox News reporter and opportunist looking for a payoff, and the shadowy funder playing House of Cards with his newly purchased Presidential toys. If I remember correctly, all the MSM said Hillary and the DNC conspiring to screw over Bernie and rig the primary for Hillary was a CT.

The reason this country is in such a story state is because the billionaires have destroyed the credibility of every GD institution in this country. Of course, climate change isn't real. Nothing is real in the la la land they created. The lucky ones still believe in Santa. The right and left that see the naked emperor just can't agree on whether the emperor is a he or she.

…after the Seymore Hersh release gained traction. NPR drew the short straw and had to introduce It. I got a kick out of reading the Washington Post version, which displayed complete vapor all the way through. It was meant to confuse people into conflating the two stories, and it worked.

Entitled, "A timeline of the explosive lawsuit alleging a White House link in the Seth Rich conspiracy," the Post carefully timelines the paper mache narrative, making it simple to analyze the "story's" faulty circularity and complete lack of substance.

I'd classify it under this genre of breaking news:

does this mean that the narrative that Russia hacked the DNC is finally dead?

I have seen where several source have verified that the voice on the audio is indeed that of Sy Hersh. It would be very helpful for Hersh himself to authenticate that fact. I do believe that Hersh is credible on the story about the FBI verifying that Seth Rich was in touch with Wikileaks. It also points to at least one and possibly two other leakers.

Then this begs the question as to why has the FBI kept this information under wraps when there was a huge coordinated effort to pin the leaks on the Russians? My sense is that the decision to keep this information suppressed was made at the highest levels for whatever reason, but some one in the rank and file leaked it to Sy Hersh to correct the public record.

IMHO, Sy Hersh is dead wrong when he said that Seth Rich died as a result of a botched robbery. There is absolutely zero proof for verify that assumption.

@Cant Stop the Macedonian Signal what Sy Hersh said regarding the murder. At the very beginning, he said he did not believe "the kid was murdered for what he knew." He then went on to describe the neighborhood as a high crime area which is contrary to what I had read elsewhere. I just wish he had left that conjecture about why Rich was murdered out of his interview because it is not pertinent to the real information that he gives us which is that the leaks were truly "leaks" from inside the DNC and not some outside "hack" by the Russians.

Edit to clarify: I know Hersh said he read the report and that it was officially a robbery gone bad, but he also added his own opinion which has no real basis in the facts. The police were told by the mayor to "stand down" the investigation. Why would they do that if it was simply a robbery gone bad?

He's the one who has been at the center of this Russian propaganda BS. Congress is letting him be the face of the intelligence agencies, even though the "all 17 agencies agree that Russia interfered with the election" statement.
And even after that has been debunked and it's only 3 1/4 of the intelligence agencies pushing this, I still see people saying that in their comments.

I wonder if Barry himself went on national TV and said that all 17 agencies don't agree, if even that would change people's minds?

Another diary on ToP state's unequivocally that Trump now directly implicated in Russian scandal coverup!

The evidence is that big Trump lied about writing little Trump's statement about the meeting with the Russian lawyer and..........something else about lying and because he was caught lying, he now directly implicated.....

@detroitmechworks @detroitmechworks Actually, Twitter is a tool, just like any other internet tool. Twitter does have algorithms by which they promote certain tweets. The key to using Twitter is in who you follow. Follow good sources and you will get good information. I do not read tweets from sources that I have not selected to follow. If you are following good sources, Twitter is a valuable tool.

Caucus 99% also has a Twitter account which we use to promote essays posted here. I manage the Twitter account, and post and provide links to our essays. I also try to recommend or comment on tweets that I believe reflect the majority of sentiments of the users of this site.

As a result of actively trying to promote C99 via Twitter, the number of people following the C99% account has grown considerably in the last 2-3 months. JtC has told dkmich, who manages the Facebook account, and me that he has seen a increase in new members since we began to use the two social media platforms to help promote Caucus 99%.

I am not asking people to join Twitter if you are uncomfortable in doing so, but I also ask that you try to understand how Twitter can work for us here at Caucus 99% and how people such as myself use it as a headline news service to keep up with the latest events which often hit Twitter first before you will read about them elsewhere. Like any tool, Twitter can have great value when used judiciously.

ToP also had a diary out about how Fox news was told to push this story by the Trump administration who were told to push it by Putin, his master. Even though Trump wasn't in the WH when this story broke. And he hadn't become Putin's puppet yet.
Let's not forget that Trump asked Putin directly to hack into Hillary's emails. The actual words from Trump was "maybe Russia can find Hillary's missing emails that she deliberately deleted after she was told to turn them ALL in when during the Benghazi hearings they found out that two years after Hillary left the state department she hadn't turned in her email even though that was the law.
But just like any story that is related to Trump, they need to rearrange the narrative to fit their description of the truth.
This works the same way when any story shows Herheinous in a bad light. They either blame it on Trump or on Putin because he tells Trump (the popular vote loser) what to do and say.

But we know that facts don't matter anymore on the G.O.S.

version of TV boxes just like a reality show.
They have been watching what mankind has been doing to our planet and to other human beings.
We have been warring with each other since the first caveman killed another one. And we have been destroying the ecosystems with pollutants in order to make profits.

There might be so many different types of reality shows to choose from. One could be for our wars, another for our pollution, another one for how we take care of the less fortunate, sick and not being able to afford treatment and they watch as people are left to die because of that, another one for the cops getting away with murder while another person does the same thing and goes to jail. Another one that shows how people who have lots of money tricked people and then crashed our global economy and anyone who made a mistake or even the ones that played by the rules were kicked out of their homes and then the banks sold their homes to rich people, not the ones who were kicked out at a huge reduced price.

The one that is probably watched the most is the many different ways we are destroying the only planet we have to live on. They are either laughing their little grey asses off, or being horrified that any race could be this stupid.

to turn over a laptop seized from the Awan group. That video was shot on May 18, but has only now started to get attention since the arrest of Imran Awan as he tried to flee the country. What's really significant in that video isn't just Debbie's "there will be consequences" threat. If you listen to DWS, she's telling the Chief there's "no investigation"

Not only is Debbie threatening the Chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, she’s also telling him there is no “investigation” or “case involving the Member” that justifies the Department keeping the laptop as evidence. She said that four times.

What is she saying there? She’s warning the Chief that there “will be consequences” if he pushes his investigation outside the limits that Debbie wants to impose.

This is Obstruction of Justice pursuant to a real crime. So, tell us, this isn’t newsworthy? There are two significant cracks developing simultaneously in the "Russia-gate" narrative.

Let me be clear that it is not that I believe that the Seth Rich murder investigation is not important, but the timing of the release of this audio seems to be aimed at diverting attention away from the bigger picture of the Awan brothers spy ring in Congress. Basically what Sy Hersh said in the audio is what most of us already knew via Wikileaks.

If we get the truth out of what was really happening with DWS and other Democrats in the House who employed the Awans, I think a lot of other things may start falling into place and making sense to us.

Over the years, the Awans had access to up to eighty phones and email accounts of House members. They were given top security clearance and had access to everything that went on in the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees. They provided members with Blackberries that were synced with members' computers and with off-site servers that they had. What could go wrong?

The Awans also were engaged in multiple shady businesses outside Congress. And yet, to this day, Imran Awan is being protected by the House members for whom they worked and is being represented by Bill Clinton's personal attorney on the bank fraud charge which is a relatively minor one compared to what they probably had been doing.

Even if members were being blackmailed, their consistent efforts to protect the Awans speaks volumes of where their priorities lie. I have zero sympathy for them.

I consider them very dangerous in intelligence circles since their co-founders are a rabid anti-Russian Ukranian on the Atlantic Council and the former head of cyber crime for the FBI. The company was on retainer to the Intelligence community at the time.

Awan knows the Congressional Democrat's dirty secrets, and certainly the DNC's. He had access to the DNC letters though DWS iPad. He had something going on with DWS to the very end. I recall reading that she had once told the police she was threatened by him.

I don't really see anyone who benefitted from Seth Rich's death. He was to join Hillary's campaign in just 4 days when he was killed. He had access to DNC voting records. I assume he was capable of finding the emails.

I rely on what Julian Assange says, but it does not explain Seth's death.

It explains the ridiculousness of the Russian hacking insanity, which is clearly a psyop operation unleashed on the American people by John Brennen and the Neocons — the Deep State.

@Pluto's Republic
Why didn't the FBI push to examine the DNC computers? This has seemed strange to me since I first heard about this.
How many people were aware of who created Crowdstrike and knew about how much he hated either Putin or Russia?
Another question is why did the DNC pick CrowdStrike in the first place? I'm pretty sure that a local US company could have done this job for the DNC.

The FBI didn't record their interview with Hillary about her emails and they didn't look at any of her home computers or smartphones. This seems very unlikely, unless they didn't want to find anything and their whole investigation was a dawg and pony show.

How much was Tarmac Lynch involved in this debacle and is there any ties to the Clinton's foundation? These things all happened during the same time frame, so that's why I am wondering about this.

As I and others have stated, if anyone looks closely at the Clinton's foundation and finds any wrongdoing, it could be devastating for not only our government, but many foreign governments and corporations.
The amount of protection regarding the Clinton's foundation is growing. Snopes has stated that the Russian uranium deal is false.
I know that can't be true because of how many websites have reported on the deal. At the time it was made and after.

How many other threads are tied up with this? Curious and curiouser.

I have the pay-stub for $150,000. So, in a sense, they were the FBI.

I'd rather the Secret Service do the forensics. Yes, they do that. Then we might see some evidence.

As for the Clinton Foundation, everything we already know about their transactions — everything the American people have been exposed to — is so outrageous in its insider dealing and influence peddling, it is quite shocking. (Substitute Donald Trump's name for Hillary's and recite the facts to confirm unbiased intellectual honesty.) By large, the American people seem fine with it.

I believe that people should get what they accept, ethically. It's an aspect of self-determination. This is what they deserve in government and beyond. It's their right.

I, personally, have a problem with after-hours strategic power plays and crony exploitation regardless of who is doing it. The rest of political America, not so much. For them, it's a situational ethic. I'm outnumbered and this is a winner-take-all form of government.

@Pluto's Republic I'm more afraid of Hillary and her crowd (which includes the CIA) than I am of Trump and his.

I also think that the evil done by Hillary et al presents a deeper hole with a more intricate web inside it, and that what's living in the web could well be more poisonous than anything Trump is involved with. He's a standard bigot; a narcissistic, amoral rich man who thinks the world's his oyster. Like George W. Bush with a stronger ego. She's the candidate the CIA backs in order to get the world-destroying war they want. She's the one that's fine with pushing the button and ending it all.

I don't have an equivalent response to them, because they don't look the same to me.

As for the idea of ethical standards that should apply to both sides, any notion that we could have a government with ethical standards left the building in 2010 if not before.

@Pluto's Republic with Clinton Foundation skullduggery. Like me, they feel powerless to do anything about it.

Even our last hope, the vote, is questionable. The panel of candidates are bought and paid for. As if that wasn't enough, the integrity of our votes is seriously questionable.

What have YOU done to disallow the Clinton's from getting away with it? I have no idea what I could possibly do. Write a letter? Most people areN'T even aware of the details much less the allegations.

As far as I can tell the coup is complete, which explains our feeling of powerlessness. None of us deserves that.

not an easy thing for me to do. (lol, col)

the line went this way-

in a city of 2 million, 1% is 20,000 people.
1/10th of that is 2000 people.

suppose that at a prearranged day & time those 2000 people stopped their cars in intersections and locked the doors, all over the city.

what would the effect be if this demonstration occurred across entire country at same time?
this is one thing that could be done if even .1% are willing to sacrifice.

I think the key is use of internet to coordinate our actions.
Beyond that, requires very little structure or leadership cadre.

Another question is why did the DNC pick CrowdStrike in the first place? I'm pretty sure that a local US company could have done this job for the DNC.

CrowdStrike is an American company. They were already encamped at the DNC a month before they allegedly tested their computers for intruders on May 6th. They were at the DNC poring over logs searching for evidence that Bernie Sanders staffers had broken in and stolen lists of voter records. There was a lawsuit in the works and they wanted to justify why they kicked him off their server, where his own data was stored.

So really, the question is who recommended CrowdStrike for that job. CrowdStrike was well connected in DC. The anti-Russian Atlantic Council, funded by Soros, was all in for Hillary. One of CrowdStrike's founders, the one who immigrated from Ukraine, was a participant there. These circles overlap, I'd say. The whole Russia thing was CrowdStrike's baby. All evidence comes from them. And, it's not the first time they did that. They cried "Russia" with some frequency. No one ever saw the evidence. Many of their professional peers were skeptical.

@Pluto's Republic

21-year FBI veteran Shawn Henry is the top intelligence heavyweight at Crowdstrike.

He is the president of CrowdStrike Services and CSO and a retired executive assistant director of the FBI. Henry, who served in three FBI field offices and at the bureau’s headquarters, is credited with boosting the FBI’s computer crime and cybersecurity investigative capabilities.

That's some serious creds. He came right to Crowdstrike after retiring from the FBI, now with friends in high places, including his old boss,

Director Robert S. Mueller, III has named Shawn Henry as the executive assistant director (EAD) of the Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch (CCRSB). Mr. Henry will succeed Assistant Deputy Director T.J. Harrington. Mr. Henry most recently served as assistant director in charge of the FBI's Washington Field Office.

we might assume that Henry's assessments of "Russia-gate" (whatever those might be) would pack a lot of punch among Washington's power-brokers. A useful fellow to have on one's corporate "team", no doubt.

There were two lawsuits, one beginning the day after he was killed, in which he would have provided expert testimony. More expert than we realized at the time.

What I am backing away from is the notion that Hillary or even the DNC are out there whacking enemies. To the extent that these are hits, these are Deep State hits. Something they do everyday. Hillary is a Deep State operative. All presidential candidates are either operatives, or tools like Obama. The Deep State clears the way and cleans up the messes for their operatives. If CrowdStrike had discovered Seth Rich's activities (if he is the wikileaks contact) — they would not tell DWS about it. She's part of the Temporary government, a mere pawn and a general mess. CrowdStrike would take it to the Deep State. To Brennen. The election was still several months in the future and Hillary was the remaining Deep State candidate. The stakes were high for them.

The American people do not have a political mechanism for dealing with things at this level. I don't think it can be done from inside the US.

The fact that a person from a foreign country had access to classified information from the people who are in congress. Imagine what the reaction would be if the person was from Russia, North Korea or Iran.
This would be the headline on every news paper, website and news program.

I can't think of any idea how they were allowed that access except for having information on them and they could be threatening to blackmail them.

How high up did this go? How many of the congress members were on special committees that dealt with extremely classified information?

How many presidential administrations did this occur under and did any president know about it?
I agree that this is being pushed so that people are kept ignorant of the Awan investigation.

And could this lead to charges of treason?

@snoopydawg began working for Congress(Gregory Meeks) in either 2004 or 2005.

I am not a tech person, so I ask someone with more knowledge than I have to correct then following statement if it is wrong. What I am understanding is if the House members whose phones and computers were serviced by Imran Awan and his family members were synced to each other and to the Awans' outside server, it is quite possible that the Awans knew everything going on in the House via those members. At the time of the announced investigation (Feb 2), the Awans were working for twenty of those members. But if the number over the years was 80 or more, any information exchanged among members (even those not serviced by the Awans) could have been captured and saved on the Awans' server.

Why this is not a major news story throughout the country is beyond me.

the timing of the release of this audio seems to be aimed at diverting attention away from the bigger picture of the Awan brothers spy ring in Congress.

The Awan investigation into the Dem servers has turned up evidence about the Rich/Wikileaks connection, and so the Clintons are trying to get in front of the story by floating this tape to create the establishment narrative before it breaks.

Not sure its meant to be a distraction though.

From Caitlin Johnstone, a 37 minute read:
https://hackernoon.com/the-big-fat-compendium-of-russiagate-debunkery-42...

And Eric Zuesse at Global Research has this:

So, what that means in layman’s terms is again that the DNC computer network which the media tells us and the DNC tells us was hacked by the Russians, … that it was physically accessed by someone within close proximity of the DNC?

Correct. Given metadata and … the transfer and the stop times in between them, the only likely [actually the only possible] scenario is that it was accessed from inside of the Local Area Network of the DNC or with a USB drive into a computer [in] which you would have to be inside the building.

Based on the transfer times the files were downloaded with a USB drive from inside the building.

. . . it was accessed from inside of the Local Area Network of the DNC or with a USB drive into a computer [in] which you would have to be inside the building.

Could have been LAN access or a USB stick. Why someone wants us to believe the actual user profile used to access and transfer the info is not known is interesting and irritating.

You have to log into a LAN (local area network), and your profile (user ID) is what you use to log in. If they know actual timestamp and download speed(s), they effing know the profile used to access the data in question.

It is possible someone left their computer logged in and then physically left the area, allowing someone else to come along and plug in a thumb drive (USB stick), then access and download the data.

It's also possible someone logged into the DNC LAN from a coffee shop or their basement or while in a cab, and accessed the data that way. Still, the user profile would be knowable by network admins - the same folks who know the timestamps and download rates.

It's all in the logs, unless a network admin was the leaker, in which case they'd hide their tracks from the back end and we wouldn't know timestamps and download rates. Pro tip: don't ever piss off a network administrator - they can make your life at work a living hell because they literally hold the keys to every aspect of the computer network you work on and have access to every single thing you type on your network computer.

I want to know whose profile was used to do it.
