Were the Democratic Party to extract its head from its rectum, and advocate policies improving the lot of all working people, her perceived value would plummet to near zero. She really doesn't have another trick. Once the "angry black woman" shtick is exhausted, that's all she wrote.

And the "angry black woman" shtick is exhausted. She's being ignored, more and more, outside the Daily Kos echo chamber. And she (much like the Democratic Party itself) isn't getting the message as to why that is.

It took me many years to go from Young Lord and Black Panther to an understanding of why I needed to join the Democratic Party. Outside of the Party, I have placed my support these days in the Moral Mondays movement, which builds coalitions between and among groups in the same way Fred did—minus armed self-defense and Marxism.

Like many of my comrade sisters and brothers I grow very uneasy when I hear about people who purport to be of the left, who are willing to endanger the Democratic Party base which includes me and mine to chase after those who have openly supported and sustained a group who has been the enemy of my people’s progress.

Watering down our stance on racism, ignoring criminal injustice and incarceration, rampant xenophobia, immigration issues and deportations, and the blatant misogyny of this culture which puts me as a black woman in double jeopardy will endanger what it has taken us a long time to build.

Those of you who are flapping your gums pointing at black folks who voted for Hillary with snide attacks about “neo-liberalism” or “corporate shill” rhetoric need to wake up and smell the cafe con leche and get a grip. 'Cause you really don’t have a clue about our history, what we have faced in the past, and what we face today.

Working class does not mean “white.” Neither does “progressive.” There are plenty of us who were honed in pragmatism walking through fires that could have meant our deaths—and still could."

Guess she forgot just whose policies put all those people of color in prisons and kept the economic status quo from changing in poor communities of color all these years...
Refusing to look at the corruption within the Democratic Party...like the DWS stuff... is exactly the problem over at TOS and will continue to make their contributions to "change" meaningless and fruitless at the polls. There is a reason why younger people of color are moving away from the Democratic Party, and it's not what she seems to think.

I wanted advice, because I went to school with lots of young people who didn't want to register to vote because of jury duty, but all she could do was talk about how she would never be called for jury duty because she was a scary radical, and they didn't want her. Go figure.

It's the same reason why I don't watch horror flicks.

to circle their wagons, in order to protect the sacred fire at the heart of the DK Community -- that fire being unconditional loyalty to the Democratic Party. I can't say I blame them, Kos' fire was indeed getting rained on and was starting to sputter, plus Bernie's Barbarians were always making raids and exposing thoroughly inconvenient truths about poor Hillary. What else was a successful Party operative like Markos to do?

Once Bernie's campaign got well and truly rolling, Kos & Co recognized that they had a serious problem on their hands. Hence, the purge. What they seem not to have recognized, is that that Democratic Party itself is in serious trouble. And I don't think they have recognized that, even yet.

Actually, I think that what's happening here is simple envy. The Ides of March Decree (2016) seriously fucked over the community that existed at Daily Kos before it. Most of the best writers and serious intellects felt the boot in their backsides, and came over here to play. And most of them stayed, enriching our community at the expense of theirs. What Daily Kos (DK) has left are a bunch of yes-folks, party hacks, and me-first-and-only types like Denise Oliver Velez.

Of course, it's Markos' site, and he's free to do what he wants with it. But the consequences of his decisions have turned what was once a respectable progressive site into the ruin we see today. Nasties like "caucasian99%" result when the remaining inhabitants of the uninhabitable ruin have to face the facts about where they are.

Meanwhile, our community continues to improve, which carks the folks over there to no end. They can't deal with the fact that there's life after the Democrats.

But there is, and we embody that fact!
