OT ~ Welcome to Saturday Morning!

Sit-a-while

on swinging porch

where tin-dippers and

sweet water

in cool touches

meet lips

from hand dug wells.

Good morning good people!

Hope the morning finds you in good disposition with needs met and desires in mind.
Happy Birthday NASA

Morning theatre:

Morning Poem:
Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end,
Each changing place with that which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend.
Nativity, once in the main of light,
Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crowned,
Crooked eclipses 'gainst his glory fight,
And time that gave doth now his gift confound.
Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth
And delves the parallels in beauty’s brow;
Feeds on the rarities of nature’s truth,
And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow.
And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand,
Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.

~ William Shakespeare
Morning news: the military 'is' chief of staff at the big house; not to worry!
The whole-wide world is watching:

Morning humor: found a workout center--down the street--rock climbing, yoga, and most important for id, contortion classes.

Morning music: newly released Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan,
"I'm with her."
"It wasn't my intent, maybe, I should not have spent all the money trying to make it.
Don't know why I never saw the writing on the wall telling me to fake it."

“A day spent without the sight or sound of beauty, the contemplation of mystery, or the search of truth is a poverty-stricken day; and a succession of such days is fatal to human life.”
~ Lewis Mumford

Cold day here in Cuenca. It's sorts like it was in Florida in the winter. When the wind would blow inform due north. Only here it's south.

Remember that it's an hour earlier than east coast time right now.

It's allgood the.

Have a great day everyone.

We've got that blue sky after a rain color this morning with wind, a cool wind; felt so good i went back to bed and may return again, :).

Been a busy week, travel and construction on Monday and healthcare for Mom and for me the other days. Big deal is that Mom is now private pay at the nursing facility; having used up the Medicare allowance. So i'm covered up with paperwork and juggling modest resources for Mom; the Medicaid app due next week with all the supporting materials.

Good to see you, as always, and enjoy your day!

@smiley7 The home health people were nice and all. The Florida people were not like the governor. They were very helpful. She needed an O2 concentrator which was the biggest expense. She actually liked the rehab center better. It was more social. Just me and she at home during that time. All the best.

one has to commit financially and wait at least 45 days in limbo before approval comes from Medicaid; sleepless nights cause if something were to happen in the process, the money will be gone and no place for Mom, the worst case scenario, but it could happen.

Well, i've committed, so onward with fingers crossed.

Isn't the universe a beautiful and amazing sight to behold? If anything could get this old atheist to believe in a deity in would be the universe. NASA's pictures are pretty incredible. My youngest grandson, Joe, is studying to be an astrophysicist. I think there are a total of 400 jobs on the planet. He's just going into his junior year at Michigan State, so who knows. Oldest grandson, Kevin, leaves Monday for Sweden. He had the entire month of July in the US with no school and no work. He was wound so high and unwound so low, he will have a hard time charging back up. Now I will definitely have to quit putting off the trip to Europe I keep yapping about. Devine Order is in Africa in the parks. Another trip I would love to do. If only I could say, "beam me up Scottie" and magically appear.

Have a good day Smiley, and good morning to everyone.

@dkmich

Glad you enjoyed NASA photo, reminded me of happy balloons and it is a birthday party; think i'll post one every Saturday, as you said, they are awesome.

Need a travel guide, have computer and experience :).

My traveling partner wants us to return to our plan we had to cancel two years ago--i plan, he pays--maybe with good healthcare winds, it may be a possibility next year.

By all means, you must visit your grandson in Sweden!

Hoping divineorder will post more traveling pics.

Sending vibes for a delightful day in Michigan.

Diurnal temperature variation is good for the grapes, no?

Lazy today, which is okay, big time tomorrow...our ski school instructors gather on Lake James--just down the mtn. where the Linville Gorge Wilderness and river flows into the lake, a beautiful place my friend has. The kids bring sailing boards, swim and we old farts imbibe, tell tales and cookout; many of my closest people.

All the best for your project!

Day to night, and seasonal, good, I think. Day to day, I dunno.

Lovely cool summer morning here in NE AL. Of course it will warm up later. Had another 0.5" of rain yesterday and the garden and forest are lush. It is indeed the subtropics this summer.

Thanks for the poetry and songs smiley. Hope you all have a good day!

Sounds like a plentiful harvest season for you Alabama folks. Used to drive through Bama annually on the way to Panama City to fish, but never had the pleasure of living there; did have a friend who started the successful Shakespeare Festival in Anniston, which i visited once. Last i heard, he had moved to Santa Fe leading an opera company.

Come on up the hill and visit sometime, ten hours or so from the coast.

Good to see you!

but has moved to Montgomery. Great outfit and facility. I haven't been to PC (the redneck riviera) in quite awhile. Nearby Grayton State Park has nice cabins hidden behind the dunes with kitchens and porches for $100/night. We keep thinking we'll slip off down there, but somehow never manage to make time.

All the best!

with heat index of 104. No rain in the forecast. After I haul feed for the horses, dispose of garbage, I will be complete drenched in sweat. No outdoor activity is appealing, and just washing a car can cause heat exhaustion. My friends with swimming pools cannot go in them because the water is too hot.
I leave the gardening to the young. I cannot tolerate the heat anymore.

hey, me, too, and i miss the gardening, only window sill plants, now. Hope your healing is going well and that you do find the shade in that kind of heat. I don't do well down the hill in the Piedmont in summer, can't breathe. Have to travel down next week, again, and am not looking forward to the journey.

Have a great weekend!

@smiley7 not breathing is pretty sucky, huh? I miss the garden. We all ate better diets when we gardened. I might pass by squash and turnip greens at the store, but when I grew them, they did not go to waste. At least 5 friends and I had a friendly competition on who could grow the most, the biggest, the best. My brother and I just couldn't continue it.
My eye is healed and is great. I can't see worth a damn due to my right eye being so blinded by the cataract, my eyes just can't cooperate and reconcile the 2 visions. Surgery is Thursday. I will have goop in my eyes Friday. Saturday, I should awaken with clear vision. I am on the home stretch!

Yesterday, is like today. Toorrow, a breeze will flow somewhere. A devil may find wings, and a halo may be found among a few practicing hope.

I wish you well. Walk a bit alone, or with me. Foolishness, reigns supreme.
