The invisible lawsuit, anger, revolution
A friend of mine, with a doctorate and very intelligent, was utterly surprised to learn about the DNC fraud lawsuit. She is quite knowledgeable about economics, science and 20th century world history. She also watches the TV news, winnowing her choice of viewing gradually from the usual suspects down to only Fox News. Is she reactionary? No. Is she Republican? Is she pro-Trump? No. Does she like Medusa? No. She tries to keep abreast of current affairs when she is not busy working and having a life away from politics.
I explained what I could during a brief conversation, which of course was incomplete. I then asked her about the Awan brothers' spy ring and received the answer I expected after learning of her ignorance about the DNC fraud suit. She hadn't a clue. Her husband, also a doctor had not the least bit of knowledge about the Awans; in fact, although he had heard a little about the DNC fraud suit, he had heard or read NOTHING about the Awans.
Now, when two highly educated people, with only passing interest in politics are completely in the dark about two of the most important recent political events in the US, is it any wonder than Jane or John Doe know absolutely nothing? In this progressively dumber country, where 7% of people think chocolate milk comes from brown cows, is that surprising?
People know they are getting screwed; that they are working longer for less money. They do not realize the steady erosion of our freedoms because it concerns mainly the lowest quartile of the population and those who try to maintain knowledge of what's going on. The people have been blinded by purposeful information manipulation and suckered into rampant consumerism, thus making them debt slaves.
Fortunately, some of the population is learning about the alternative media through which means they obtain some semblance of reality. Before there can be a political revolution of the type Bernie wished to start, broader information about the true state of things is essential.
But another type of revolution, which many of us here and elsewhere expect, is a violent revolution. The sparks are flying, such as the shooting of Representative Stephen Scales by an alleged Berniecrat. Anitifa rioting is slowly building and becoming more violent. Meanwhile, Trumpsters are becoming progressively hostile against the perceived Islamification of the US and political correctness in general.
Where are the brakes on this path to violence? Certainly not from Kathy Griffin's faux beheading of Trump ISIS-style. Nor from the pointedly anti-Trump staged rendering of Julius Caesar in NYC. When fatheads like Rosie O'Donnell call for martial law just after the inauguration, sets the scene for slowly growing direct confrontation due to a steep political polarization of people somewhat aware of the political situation.
If Trump is impeached, let alone convicted, you can be certain there will be blood on the streets. Then this country will be balkanized into many incompatible parts. The strains are showing. Red states trying to establish theocracy. Blue states flaunting laws, which while perhaps abhorrent, were legitimately passed by Congress.
Talk about a third major party is becoming increasingly pointless when our "elections" become "selections". The pressure cooker is building up steam.
So, what's the solution? Will it be better education? No, schools are too politicized in one direction or another?
Will it be cleaning the swamp? Too many alligators in it which are corrupt and/or blackmailed. As the saying goes: "when you're up to your ass in alligators, it's hard to concentrate on draining the swamp".

Best of all are local knockers.
The idea is to engage voters that are already somewhat in the circle of trust, evoking primitive us-them connections. But knock off the violent revolution talk! That will just hurt your cause. All by design.
And by keeping the DNC lawsuit and related issues out of the mainstream media, it goes into the realm of "fake news" for so many people. People can claim they don't trust the media, but I think there's a possibly unintentional bias among people that if they're not talking about it on the evening news or the cable shows, it's some wacko conspiracy theory. MSM still has legitimacy that I think they're long past deserving. They can't make this go away, and they can't silence the alternative media (yet) but they can try to marginalize reporting on this.

Of course, I started from the assumption that intelligence was incredibly important. I'm a scholar, a strong believer in critical thinking, rationality, logic. But recent political events (since about Dec) on the left have led me to thinking differently.
I think maybe we need to distinguish between many different qualities that we lump together as intelligence.
Frankly, someone who thinks that chocolate milk comes from brown cows is an idiot about that, but might also understand quite well that the CIA is not to be trusted. That person, depending on who they are, at this point could be more likely to resist the current propaganda than an intellectual liberal with a college degree, or even a liberal with a graduate-school education.
There's all kinds of different levels of understanding, and different kinds of intellectual training, and what I'm discovering is that the kind I have is no guarantee that the person in question will actually use the habits of critical thought that they were trained in, and you might be a lot better off with someone more experientially acquainted with the suffering our politics, policies, and economics have inflicted on people. Or sometimes it's something else altogether: people who have just learned, no matter how, to pick up on lies told by the powerful. The stupid belief in a brown chocolate milk cow, as seriously unfortunate as that is, exists independent of the ability to see through the establishment's shit. So, even more unfortunately, does the kind of intelligence we develop through formal education. Apparently, none of that training avails people. They descend into tribalism and irrational argument, become stooges to propaganda--or they maintain intellectual independence--based on something other than education or simple cleverness.
I don't know what that something is.

and I know almost nothing about the DNC lawsuit. No idea who Awan is and don't care. I really don't care what they do and believe anything that comes out of it won't help the Serfs in any way. I see falsehoods and mis-directions like this every day. They have control of the conventional media and the only venue left to take control of is the internet.

That said, we need to establish IRL connections now. Also, hopefully, IRL connections with other communities, such as the people gathered around Sane Progressive and Cabin Talk and Jamarl Thomas and Glen Ford and even Hard Bastard and Lionel Nation. We might not be able to form a coalition with all these people, but we should at least form a network. We have common interests.
Further, we should reach out to people who are doing work that is not overtly political, but which is highly important: sustainability work, community organizing, etc.

And the connections need to be bilateral, so Sane Progressive's grit and directness, for example, can be upheld from here and the other sites you mention.
Lessons in fighting for sanity, even just (or first) for one's personal sanity would be a good place to begin.
The DNC fraud suit dwarfs Watergate
As far as the Awan brothers, consider this: at least 80 out of 435 Representatives had computers and Blackberries hacked/stolen since at least 2010. This means that almost one in five members exposed their personal documents as well as state secrets to Pakistani criminals. Doubtless, many of these Congresscritters are being actively blackmailed or in danger of becoming so. If the majority of the population becomes aware not only of the greed and corruption in DC, but also the sheer incompetence of so many, it might begin a wholesale replacement. Again that effect, salutary as it could be, will be mitigated by the astounding ignorance of the majority of our population.
But this could be a spark to bring down the current mess in flames. Let us hope so.
@Alligator Ed It's important. It
For instance, for those who don't have any interest in these stories, or in anything to do with the establishment, including pushing back on the only war that hasn't been conclusively won by the establishment, which is control of perception, there's a ton of community-building work to be done, a ton of sustainability work to be done, an entire indie media to construct, or at least to network together. Other things that would be good to build: alternative economies, possibly alternative currencies, alternative gathering places, alternative art and music, regular food-sharing (which is trickier than it sounds). There's so much work to be done that everybody can find a place they like doing something they think is important.
Participation in the main two parties, attempts to reform them, and pleading with politicians to create good new policies, are pretty much the only three things that are, IMO, actively not in the interest of this community. I think those within-the-system movements are, at best, time sinks and labor sinks and faith sinks, that take people's resources and squander them. However, even though that's so, I still don't think I have the right to tell people not to do it. I do tend to come on and disagree when people publish essays in favor of such strategies, but I'd never take it on myself to tell them they must stop doing that. It's their choice.
So I guess what I'm saying is that everybody should work where they want to, how they want to. There's so much work to do, potentially, that everybody has the freedom to work where they most want to.

Reform from within versus third party
I certainly don't have answers but almost certainly neither duopolistic megalith can be reformed from within. I have felt that way ever since Bernie was robbed. The selection was made before the race began. So much for the illusion of free choice.
As I have noted here,c99 is a university where the students obtain advanced knowledge of the world around them politically, economically, socially
What students at this university do with that education is entirely up to them. Personally, I am not good at telephone calls or door knocking, which I have learned from experience. But I am reasonably good at written communication as are many others here. No fault redounds to those who are passive, which is a common reaction. But if some of us can shed light into the surrounding political darkness perhaps some progress will be made.
I don't follow the suit(s) closely either; I figure
that, at least until Bernie acknowledges the primary fraud, my time is better utilized following health care and 'tax reform' legislation. (OTOH, I do read the posts, and appreciate that folks are sharing the info. I just don't go out of my way to seek additional info, other than what is presented at C99P.)
A couple times I've posted a Symone Sanders piece and a Tweet in which she denied that there was any election fraud--or, that the election was stolen. Of course, today she's comfortably ensconced on CNN as a purveyor of 'fake news.' (to be kind) So, I'm not sure how much credence I give her words.
Also, the Sane Progressive claims that Bernie's campaign staffers won't even speak to her about the primary election fraud.
So, my question is, 'Has he ever been asked on camera about these matters?' If not, why?
FWIW, I believe that the key to getting this topic into the mainstream media is to [somehow] find a way to get Bernie to acknowledge the validity of the events. Frankly, as much media exposure as he allows, it's mind-boggling that this question has not already been asked of him. Go figure.

Training public opinion on the Seth Rich murder
This caught my eye today "Seth Rich murder: Likely serial killer, not robbery" on Rawstory. As the original narrative of robbery is becoming suspicious to greater number of people. Suggestion number 2: the murder was not efficient enough to be a professional hit the conspiracy theorist keep discussing. It was a serial killer.

@studentofearth Oh for fuck's sakes.
Oh, wait. They're trying to say it's this kind of serial killer:
The Disorganized Killer
These individuals rarely plan out the deaths of their victims in any way. Most often, the people they kill just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. This type of serial killer appears to strike at random whenever an opportunity arises. They take no steps to cover up any signs of their crime, and tend to move to different towns or even states regularly to avoid being captured. Disorganized killers usually have low IQ’s and are extremely antisocial. They rarely have close friends or family, and do not like to stay in one place for too long. These killers are prone to have no recollection of their deeds, or to confess that they were motivated by voices in their heads or some other imaginary source.
Wanna bet some hobo-looking homeless guy with a low IQ who claims to hear voices in his head gets turned up as the #1 suspect in this?
I would not put it past them to frame someone just so they could call us all conspiracy theorists with more credibility.

Perhaps we could do an essay series on this.
It's one of the two things most important to say right now: we need to establish that we have no interest in gunning down or otherwise physically assaulting ordinary people simply because they're right-wing. And we need to reach out to the right and have a discussion about how there is an attempt being made by the establishment to get us fighting. It's like being part of a horrible Punch and Judy show.
I think we should talk to the right about this sooner rather than later. Whatever we disagree on--and it's a lot--those of us who have no interest in engaging in some kind of Civil War puppeteered from above should talk to each other soon.
The other thing that's important is making in-real-life connections with each other, and with other left-wing, dissident, truth-telling communities.
