New Info in Seth Rich Case Updated
Note: I am updating this to add an incredible article published by Caitlyn Johnstone just two hours ago. I will link it here and below where I have excerpted two paragraphs from it . I urge everyone to read her article.
I have been waiting to see if anyone else had seen this and done an essay on it because the Twitterverse is exploding with a huge new revelation in the Seth Rich case.
Kim Dotcom has come out with this shocker.
If Congress includes #SethRich case into their Russia probe I'll give written testimony with evidence that Seth Rich was @Wikileaks source.
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) May 19, 2017
It was promptly followed by this tweet.
How do you think I knew?https://t.co/toLOtlXrxjhttps://t.co/KEWXP2oF1D
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) May 19, 2017
Sean Hannity, of all people, jumped on that tweet.
I'm the evidence!! https://t.co/w9WHrC4yW8
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) May 20, 2017
It was this tweet earlier today that seemed to make the Twitterverse explode.
I knew Seth Rich. I know he was the @Wikileaks source. I was involved. https://t.co/MbGQteHhZM
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) May 20, 2017
Immediately followed by this tweet.
I'm meeting my legal team on Monday. I will issue a statement about #SethRich on Tuesday. Please be patient. This needs to be done properly.
— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) May 20, 2017
For those who may be confused about all this, HA Goodman does a very good analysis of it in this video that he made this afternoon.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PENauWbAac]
If this all is true, then this is the bombshell that kills the Russia narrative that the Democratic party and the MSM have been pushing.
Update: Sunday May 21, 2017, 12:50 pm
Caitlyn Johnstone must be thinking in the same terms I was when I wrote this essay. She analyzes Kim Dotcom's tweets and writing dating back to 2014. While like the rest of us, she does not know what he may have for us on Tuesday, she lays out a potential scenario in which the evidence he has is irrefutable and cannot be ignored.
If however you are open to the possibility that your government is lying to you with the help of the mass media, it’s not hard to imagine how a man with a tech background who is frustrated with the manipulations of the Democratic establishment might seek out the help of a powerful, well-connected internet sage in figuring out how best to use the documents he had access to for shedding the light of truth on a profoundly corrupt organization.
She goes through much of what we have learned about Seth Rich and about Kim Dorcom's own fights against establishment authority leading to his own personal vendetta against Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Democratic establishment. This leads to the nearly climatic paragraph in which Johnstone poses these questions.
What will happen if this all comes crashing down? If Kim Dotcom can show the world that Seth Rich was the one who leaked those documents? What will happen if the carpet is ripped out from underneath this massive house of cards that the American deep state has been blasting the public in the face with using its Washington pawns and the mass media?
Please read the rest of her article.

It has to involve bombing SOMEONE. Really, anyone would do. Costa Roca, for instance, makes mock of our health care system.

I understand but
At some point, the DNC (Clinton) narrative will fall apart. But the more immediate issue is that proof will kill the Russia narrative, at least in this case.

I don't see any proof. To me this looks more like a wild goose chase than anything else. Wishful thinking amplified X 1000.
Of course I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Well, after all, he is admitting to having hacked an election,
an attack on America and democracy that the blood of the fallen begs us to punish--and Trump colluded in it.
Oh wait, it was only DNC emails -- nothing to do with hacking or elections, let alone attacks.
Kidding aside, short of a confession by Rich, which we can't get at this point, what would be proof? This guy foretold something was in the works and he is claiming he participated in some way. Knowing the Clintons, the DNC and how much power and money was lost to them in November, would you claim that falsely?
I don't know, maybe emails between
Rich and Kim Dotccom, or between Wikileaks and him? How do I know what evidence he might have? And if he has any, why isn't he sharing it? What I'm saying is, that I've seen no evidence whatsoever to support his claims. All I've seen so far, are his cryptic and unsubstantiated tweets. And I don't think that internet rumor-mongering serves anyone well.

Well it would be nice if they did stop,

I completely agree
The fact that he wanted to testify under oath is compelling but we haven't heard anything. He's saying a press release will go out Tuesday. Like you, I want to wait for evidence. That's the line I took with Russia-Gate and Syria so it seems like a fine approach to take here.

@native
Ummmm, somebody thought by credible witnesses to have been the leaker of these documents has already been murdered.
A Podesta email has included a reference to 'making an example of' a suspected leaker, which is thought by many to refer to this murder.
Hillary has previously asked why they 'couldn't just drone Julian Assange' in what's been described as what sounded like a generally uncomfortable moment at a meeting about this leak, (a meeting possibly rather like the one which I believe was posted/linked to here, one where strategists suggested the 'Russian hack'-blame tactic along with a vast number of others, all used at various times to excuse Hillary not being coronated President, due to eagerly courted Super Delegates deciding against Her by that point?) and there could be concerns about retribution being visited upon the leaker's family.
So, one would expect silence from those not yet known to be concerned with the matter unless something like the avoidance of this 'Russian hacker' strategy being used by The Psychopaths That Be to explode Earth for MIC profit, starting with Russia, was felt to be an urgent need.

Your evidence to convict Hillary
of murdering Seth Rich may be persuasive to some on this site, but it wouldn't stand up for a minute in an impartial court of law. As any Prosecutor worth his salt would advise, you do not want to go to trial until you've got all your ducks lined up in a row. I think we are far from being in that advantageous position at this point.
native
@native
Actually, that was in response to your comment wondering why Kim hadn't come forward as a witness/participant with evidence until now, outlining some reasons as to why anyone might not want to come forward, exposing themselves to the world as a witness, unless s/he had to, not 'to convict Hillary' and not offered in a court of law.

wouldn't have said he had his ducks in a row all over the tubes if he didn't. Hilary's excuse that the Russians stole her election is a dead duck.

I don't think sharing something that has just come to one's
attention is rumor-mongering. If it is, everyone in the world has been doing it since the snake sidled up to Eve to tell her she'd benefit from eating fruit. People on TV get paid big bucks to do it 24/7. It's all in the way it's presented, which is up to the presenter, and the way it's received, which is up to the receiver. And along the line, both presenters and receivers will err. As far as the presenter of this info, gulfgal began closing her essay with "If all this is true..." so I don't think she sensationalized it or vouched for it.
As far as emails between Rich and dotcom, if I were seeking someone to help me with a download of my employer's emails and making them public via wikileaks--or whatever Rich may or may not have contacted dotcom about--I don't think I'd want to leave email evidence of my plan, or any kind of paper trail. I'd call, and probably from a burner. (Why yes, I did see The Bourne Identity. Why do you ask?) I'd want to keep all evidence of my involvement as far from all that in every way I could possibly think of and manage.
Only time will tell whether we will hear more from dotcom as he claims we will, and, if so, what we may hear.
He shows a lot of guts, imo. (+++)

At the start of the video, Chris Dodd (ex congress member who left congress under a cloud of suspicion for making tons of money from receiving subprime loans from Countrywide and becoming a lobbyist for the movie industry. And since Obama needed money from Hollywood for his re-election, authorized the raid on Dotcom's compound)

They have such a lock on the media
that the problem is how to get this out there.
Unfortunately,
The DNC and Podesta emails alone reveal many of the facts that support those scandals but so do stories that appeared in the NY Times and Wsshington Post, among others. She, her foundation and Bill had extensive ties with an assortment of oligarchs and transnational companies for which favors were done by the Department of State after or shortly before the Clinton Foundation received massive donations from banks, oil companies, foreign countries and wealthy individuals. This has been well documented.
One of the worst, of course, was what the Clintons and their foundation (put in charge by our state department under Hillary) did to Haiti after the earthquake.

the little things you can do are more valuable than the giant things you can't! - @thanatokephaloides. On Twitter @wink1radio. (-2.1) All about building progressive media.
@Wink
A number of people have looked at the numbers, including eventually after-the-fact counted (but not included) votes, and concluded that despite the massive and record-level Dem voter suppression and other cheating, Bernie appeared to have likely won the Dem nomination anyway, so Bernie did actually win as far as votes cast/intended went, which would have been recognized in a clean election.
He'd said prior to actually running for the Dem nomination that he wouldn't unless it appeared that the support was there and he actually had a chance, which was why he did that fast tour before announcing.
Hilary has in the past repeatedly said, among Her immense and varied list for Her Royal Coronation general election loss blame rotation, that she won the popular vote but lost to the (edit: Electoral College), some of whom may admittedly have voted with the 'Anyone But The M.A.D. (Mutual Assured nuclear Destruction) Bomber' people, prior to the Russian blame theory (we must nuclear-attack for MIC/fossil fuel industry profit and
to hell withmake hell out of the planet!) gaining ascendance, but Her has never yet demanded an investigation of the Russian connections of the (edit: Electoral College) who ultimately voted not-for-Her.Why should the evidently Russian-controlled (edit: Electoral College) get off scot-free when it was they who lost Hillary Her Turn?
Does this lack of Clinton faction, spy agency and corporate media coverage of the Russian mole (edit: Electoral College) Not Voting for
War On The WorldThe MAD Bomber indicate that they, also, have been subverted by Russian influence and are Putin Puppets as well as is much of the country and world in not adoring Her?I think an investigation into the Russian connections of the Not Voting For Clinton When It's Her Turn (edit: Electoral College) and the Clinton faction, spy agency and corporate media which appear to be covering for them by failing to accuse them of said Russian influence should be loudly demanded by every right-minded American tired of chasing Russian agents out of their closets and under-bed dust-bunny collections.
Edited to capitalize letters where I'd missed and to remove an extra 'the' which the Russians must have snuck in there.
And massively edited as I somehow had Super Delegates stuck in my chemically-confused and over-tired head when trying to be funny. At least this bombing was less destructive than the nuclear stuff...
But seriously - if Hillary won the popular vote and the Electoral College was why she actually lost (for which I'll ever be grateful) - how come everyone else but is at fault and involved in a Russian plot to stop people voting for her, just because she's corrupt and a hazard and has already screwed the American and other people over for decades, which Trump has only been able to start doing en masse now?
If accusing the Electoral college of being a Russian tool is just too ludicrous - then why isn't the rest of it?
Why is her loss, due to Electoral College votes and despite winning the popular vote, an excuse for calls for massive internet censorship with hysterical and continuous propaganda about 'fake News and 'Russian hacking' apparently of the Electoral College exerted over the population instead?
Was this response planned in advance as an excuse for this, as well as for the Russian!!! attack, or is this just more opportunism?
Does this just strike me as funny in both senses because I react badly to petrochemicals used in home renovation which admittedly do scramble my brain pretty badly at times, as well as making me otherwise ill? This is quite possible, but I do recall Hillary protesting this early on, in the rotation of massively spread blame for Her loss which was applied, ironically enough, to Anyone But Hillary. Much like many voters, perhaps especially those who had already had their voting rights removed by Her faction.

This excuse makes the least sense yet
There are no "Superdelegates" in the GENERAL ELECTION.
So what is Her babbling about now? Is Her statement a veiled admission that she did not really win the Democratic primary? That she cheated, bullied and strong-armed her way into power just as many of us suspected? That she's a bigger fraud than the Trumposaurus ever dreamed of being?
There is no justice. There can be no peace.

@Wink
Lol, sorry, got scrambled and somehow had Super Delegates rather than the Electoral College in there.
The point was supposed to be that if Hillary won the popular vote and did start off being upset about the Electoral College causing Trump to win, why are they virtually the only ones not being accused of being Putin Puppets?
Maybe this is just me scrambled with bad chemical reactions, but this strikes me as silly, since Her blames the voters For Making Her Lose while winning on a popular vote and now the voters have to be both censored and propagandized To Keep America Safe From Democracy?
And I thought it made a good point against the Russian hack!!! insanity in that, following that line of unreasoning, the Electoral College must have been hacked or, like many voters, 'influenced' by knowing enough about Hillary to want to run screaming, (the latter being true, in many cases, although generally as a pre-existing condition) and there's certainly just as much 'proof' of that as of any other 'Russian hacking' claim.
Although that of providing 'electoral influence' by providing factual news reports may actually have some merit. Claiming the latter as an act of war is getting into entirely new and Orwellian territory, though.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

Electors?
As far as I know almost all of the Electors voted the way they were supposed to (in other words, Electors from states that went for Trump in the general voted for Trump in the EC). Here in WA State, which went for Clinton, we did have a couple of "rebels" who refused to vote for her in the EC, and under state law they faced a financial penalty for doing so. There may have been a few more rogue Electors across the country, but it wouldn't have been enough to flip the Electoral vote.

Sorry, chemically induced brain farts and sleep disorders make a bad combination.
Clinton was claiming (edit: at one point, early on, among a lengthy list) that it was, of course, the Electoral College, which betrayed her, among the list of everyone else who was at fault.
So it would, of course, be the Electoral college controlled by Russians and voting for Trump.

I guess she's a "victim" of the gutted US educational system that replaced "civics" with "social studies" or with nothing. But if Her really wanted to know, there were and are plenty of ways of finding out.

the Seth Rich story in this article.
As someone wrote in a comment here, the DNC isn't a government organization so even if Russia did hack into their website, that doesn't qualify as interfering with the election. But people have taken this little snowball and made it into an avalanche.
What was disclosed in those emails was the conspiracy by the DNC, Hillary's campaign and the media to make sure that she won the primary and that she would be running against Trump.

She says the same thing about what we are discussing here about how important it is to find out how Wikileaks got the DNC emails.
Seth's Reddit posts have been edited or removed by either someone who works for Reddit or someone else who is covering their tracks.
He was a huge panda fan and he set up the u/pandas4Bernie Reddit site and after his murder, one of the accounts that he used to post on went silent.
Hopefully someone will be able to find out if Seth was the one who gave them to Wikileaks because then the whole Russia interfered with the election crap will collapse and maybe people will finally wake up and see that our government has been lying to us. Again!

I am dubious, because
why in the hell would anyone tell Twitter before talking to their legal team? If this person is for real s/he is incredibly foolish and has endangered herself/himself.
It sounds way too lighthearted and whimsical "I'm the evidence!" "How did you think I knew?"
If this were for real, this would be a friend of Rich's who knows that he was murdered for leaking info Hillary didn't want leaked. I would expect a different tone, and certainly a different order of events (i.e., lawyers before public).
I hope this person, if for real and not a managed opposition trial balloon, is somewhere safe, because s/he just announced to everybody in the Clinton machine and in the allied Bush machine, that s/he is gonna mix it up with them. That's not the safest thing in the world to do.

It sounds like Kim Dotcom
From what I've read about Kim Dotcom, this sounds very much like something he would say. He seems to have a brash, in-your-face personality. Larger than life and not worried about whom he offends. He's made megabucks from the tech/internet business, and seems to have an ego (and the cojones) to match. Or maybe the ego came first, then the success.
At any rate, Mr. Dotcom has already had a lot of experience being the target of the powers that be, internationally. I wouldn't think he's going into this unaware of what and whom he's dealing with. With his bucks, he could afford to hire private security for himself and his family, if he felt the need.

Well, considering that the 'Russian hack' claim propaganda is being used to 'justify' likely those nuclear attacks which The Psychopaths That Be have been so eager to start on multiple countries capable of holding off conventional invasion forces, but especially Russia first, (which will likely set off the whole target list of countries to throw everything they've got at the US psychopaths before they get smeared without firing a shot in self-defense as well,) which list includes China - maybe Kim DotCom is eager to avoid global annihilation based on The Psychopaths That Be gaining the disinformed American public's consent for the extinction of planetary life via this particular and grossly outworn ancient 'Russia' scare-for-MIC-profit canard?
Spent several hours watching something which was posted by Alligator ED on the 'Trump's Impeachment Now In Play' thread. Seems to explain a lot, although a lot of the bits are known and this seems to fill in various gaps in the history of America's corruption . So if anyone hasn't watched it yet, you really might want to.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
The story of the "Deep State" and its beginnings is told
While it focuses on Allen and Foster Dulles, it does mention wealthy corporate robber barons who were the sources of money for the Dulles brothers to operate, but there are many I'm still curious about. It's a good thing the focus of this book was kept narrow, otherwise it would be tough to sort through.
The Kennedy assassination started with Kennedy not sending in military support for the civilian boats at the Bay of Pigs. The CIA, the deep state, the Dulles brothers never got over it. It is truly sickening.
The other theme that runs quietly through the book is how many first ladies did not warm to Allen Dulles, and asked their husbands to sack or set him aside. He thought he knew better what should be done for the country and would withhold vital information from presidents who were his bosses, or launch secret ops anywhere in the world he wanted with cooperation of the CIA/MIC but without informing the president.
This same large, complex, and multifaceted organization is in place and one cannot imagine how to take it apart or bring it under control.
I am glad the questions are being asked as to sources, belief, accuracy, truth. I also am concerned that anyone known to be a part of Wikileaks is possibly risking a lot, if not their own lives. So the question asked before: how can a citizen figure out what is the truth and is the person making a statement in a position to know or telling the truth.
How can someone who really does know something that would help sort all this out, let us know enough without personal risk and shutting down a much-needed source of information.

JFK fired Dulles and
cronies in Nov. 1961 (Wiki). That pretty much ended Dulles' dicking around in Gov't (until LBJ two years later), and may have led to Dulles plotting JFK's assassination.

According to David Talbot, Allen was down in the mouth for
He had no hesitation that he knew best what should be done for the country, and found ways to push his agendas.
He recovered quite quickly from his dismissal and yes, most likely was well connected in the web of people who ultimately were involved in the JFK assassination.
I was never a fan of the multiple gunmen theory, but David Talbot lays out a compelling set of arguments, backed by well documented references. He believes that "journalists" who write about these events are "lazy" and don't even do a cursory review of what is easily available, then shows what is available.

Excellent synopsis at Salon. We are watching this being played out in real time with Trump as they are attaching a powerful ring to Trump's snout in order to rein him in and take him under their control.
This is not Hillary's doing per se. But she knows how Washington works due to her long time involvement with the machine that runs the US. She saw it from the inside during Bill's tenure and knew enough not to buck it. The 'system' is reflected in the policies she espoused during her campaign. She understood how much change she would be allowed to affect and that it was necessary to have both a public persona and a private one. Sanders also knew this to a certain extent. I don't think he was really serious about the presidency. He understood he would have to capitulate to the 'system's' demands. His real job was to energize the base and bring them back to the fold.
I believe Obama was
sat down "by the adults in the room," within days of his 2008 win, and told, "listen, son, you may think you're a Joe Biden BFD, the big dog with the cold nose, MLK Jr. his self, but we're here to tell you where the bear $h!ts in the buckwheat, and what you can do and what you can't do, lest you soon end up like JFk... "
He was so full of piss and vinegar after his big win, then so ordinary a few days after his inauguration that many of us were left wondering "where did Obama go?"
I think all new presidents - including Trump - get this "briefing" soon after their win. "Enjoy your presidency! Just remember, Mr President... the walls have ears."

David Talbot starts with Dulles and FDR. During WWII, Dulles
He regarded some of the top level Nazis as erudite, gentlemen, of a scholarly bent. He liked smoking cigars and drinking a good brandy with them, while discussing how things should play out.
He was part of the Rat Line which got top level officers, scientists (some really bad people), and other "assets" out of the Nuremberg Trials and into other countries including the US.
He had a big hand in the foundation of the OSS which morphed into the CIA.
He withheld information from FDR and each president onward. Kennedy was the only one who was willing to buck him. Eleanor pleaded with FDR to get rid of him.

@CB I don't think
That's why (supposedly, at least) when he and Jane were talking about a possible presidential run, she asked him "Couldn't you just write a book?"

Yes, the tone
and the timing of this sensational claim are just too out of whack for me. I want the Deep State to be brought to their end, to be destroyed. I have so many decades of wanting that outcome that if anything even closely resembling evidence that will convict them in the court of public opinion, AND the actual court of justice, appears, I want it to be true. So badly.
But this guy, from what I'm reading about him, sounds like a somewhat desperate character with a history of legal problems of a federal kind, and this is a federal circus. I don't like it. Discrediting a true story by connecting it to a fraudulent source is classic Bush work. In other words, Langley.
@Linda Wood We'll see--it's one of

The key tweet from "Kim Dotcom" seems to be this:
"I knew Seth Rich. I know he was the @Wikileaks source. I was involved"
If Mr. Dotcom can provide evidence of his assertions, then we might be going somewhere. Otherwise, it's just more smoke and mirrors.
How did you know Seth Rich, Mr. Dotcom? How do you "know" that he was the @Wikileaks source? Exactly how were you involved? These are pertinent questions that the mysterious Kim Dotcom should be willing to answer, if his statements are to be taken at all seriously.
It's easy enough to tweet bold claims of having insider information, but it's quite another thing to provide evidence that you actually have any.
native
"knew"
I believe what Kim Dotcom is saying is that they worked online together on disseminating this huge number of documents that Seth Rich had downloaded from the DNC computers. Kim Dotcom had the expertise in doing downloads of large documents when he created his website.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~ President John F. Kennedy
With all the flap about this since the emails were released,
I don't think tweeting "I was involved" is easy, unless this guy has lost his mind entirely. I think it takes A LOT of courage. Whether it is true is a different issue. He says he will give more details.Of course, could come back with something like, "I talked to my legal team and they told me not to say anything else." We'll see.
As always, "We'll see '" is the operative phrase.
But I'd hesitate to put many eggs into Kim Dotcom's conspiracy basket, minus more evidence than he's provided so far.
native
I include "we'll see" or its equivalent in so many posts
because a human tendency is to jump to one conclusion or another as soon as something comes to our attention. (Maybe it started as a survival mechanism? Oh, look a squirrel. Cool. Stew for supper! I haven't had protein in weeks. Oh look, a saber tooth tiger. Yikes! Human for supper! I'm outta here.)
I happen to be looking back at posts on a board where I used to post a lot (not Kos) to see if I want to bookmark or copy of any posts of mine or others. At least, that was my original reason. Turned out, political message boards are so danged funny (and illuminating) in hindsight that it's become some of my favorite humorous reading material (though also sad at times because some of my favorite posters passed or left for parts unknown).
@native Well, it's a claim.
I am not sure he's telling the truth, but I'm not willing to automatically dismiss it. We'll wait.
