Democrats just can't stop failing
Bernie Sanders, CNBC and other news media outlets had some fun at Trump's expense when he said in front of the cameras "my friend from Australia cause you have better health care than we do."
Trump: Australia has better health care than U.S. (they have universal health care)

Yes, Bernie. Medicare for all would be awesome. Back in March you promised to introduce that bill, but something happened along the way.
Right now we need to improve the Affordable Care Act and that means a public option. pic.twitter.com/sxxXIlN3NN
— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) March 25, 2017
The public option? WTF happened Bernie? Telling us what we can't have was Hillary's job.
You were supposed to give voice to what we actually need.
And then things got worse.
In putting single payer on the back burner, Sanders has reverted to his November 2016 position when his staff told activists that no single payer bill would be introduced in the Senate because the Democrats wanted to focus on defeating the Republicans.
“It’s one thing for Bernie Sanders to lead his followers back into the established Democratic Party,” consumer advocate Ralph Nader said. “But why can’t he pull the Democratic Party to adopt his highly popular agenda, led by single payer, which garnered many millions of voters last year? Those voters must be starting to wonder.”
Gawd Dammit, Bernie!
You and the rest of the Democrats have it entirely backwards. Of course a Republican-controlled Congress will never pass a Medicare-for-all bill. We get that.
Your job as a progressive is to give an alternative vision of a better future like House Democrats did. Now was that time. Now was the best time, and YOU FAILED!
What we want to hear is not that the seas are rising (the Republicans!) and we’re gonna die alone (the Republicans!) and tumorous on the street because our chemo costs $50,000 every half hour and a hangnail is a preexisting condition (the Republicans!). What we want to hear is that there can be a better world, that through collective endeavor we can as a people feed our poor, care for our sick, and find at least some better balance between our rapacity and the health of our planet. Instead we get negation; we get Trump is a meanie and Paul Ryan wants to eat your kids, which does not get the 40 percent of people whose boss is a meanie and who can’t pay their deductibles to the polls.
The specter of Democrats literally singing in the halls of Congress because they imagine that more than a year from now they’ll reap some reward from the GOP’s pettiness and failure to construct any real alternative system is just despicable. Who are these people?
Good question. Who the f*ck are these people?
Democrats must think this is all some game.
The health care system is anything but a joke.
The way it works now, the so-called “providers” (doctors, hospitals) refuse to post the cost of any service, and then charge whatever they feel they can extract, subject to an abstruse and dishonest ceremonial “negotiation” with the insurance company. The result: hospital and insurance executives get paid multi-million dollar salaries, doctors get to drive fine German cars, and the patient gets financially ass-raped, kicked to the curb, and eventually stuffed into the bankruptcy courts.
ObamaCare did nothing to fix this...But judging from the news reports this day, none of these issues is actually on the table in the congressional debate.
Do they not see the irony of the song they are singing?
They seemed to have missed the obvious anger on the streets today. They obviously missed the lessons of the 2016 elections.
Washington is looking more and more like French aristocracy in 1789.
Things can't keep going like this. People are ready to explode, and then it'll be too late to talk them down.
This ain't subliminal
Feel tha critical mass approach horizon
Tha pulse of tha condemned
Sound off America's demise
Tha anti-myth rhythm rock shocker
Yes I spit fire
Hope lies in tha smoldering rubble of empires
Yes back through tha shanties and tha cities remains
Tha same bodies buried hungry
But with different last names
These vultures rob everyone
Leave nothing but chains
Pick a point here at home
Yes tha picture's tha same
There's a field full of slaves
Some corn and some debt
There's a ditch full of bodies
Tha check for tha rent
There's a tap, tha phone, tha silence of stone
Tha numb black screen
That be feelin' like home

Are they trying to prove ...
that they are the Masters of Low Expectations?
I believe that is a dare.
Fighting for democratic principles,... well, since forever
The key to keeping health care costs down... is of course
to use the Hollywood model.
There's only so many slots... and you need to prove that you DESERVE one. And don't worry if you somebody else doesn't get it, they were just a terrible person who didn't deserve the healthcare!
Argh. Sorry, raging a bit at fuckers today, because I'm now confined to a wheelchair if I want to leave my house. Can still stand, and walk, but if I go more than a block, I have to sit down every 20 minutes or so. And since I have no car, and Use public transportation... (At least the VA game me a damn wheelchair when I needed one. Private insurance would have charged me a couple hundred bucks for that shit.)
Ok, some music to remind me what side I'm on.

Good essay gjohnsit
Expect some grief for giving St. Bernie some well deserved criticism. WTF is wrong with all the 'lefties' I know online and off for falling for this phony resistance? Do they not understand they have been had? Maybe after decades of propaganda about the globalized free market they still think this mad NWO is the inevitable way of the world. Get a grip. Yer stuck if you think that America the supper dupper powerful evil Empire is the only alternative that will prevail. Why do people in the USA! think this is just the way the world works?
This is what every nasty as regime or Empire has proclaimed throughout history. There is no remedy left within our tattered republic's system. They all D's and R's took it all off the table and will not reinstate any parliamentary means for people to address their grievances. Can't ordinary people see that it matters little which side 'wins' when people globally are subjected to the tyranny of greedy assholes and psycho killers of mass destruction?
So go ahead and tell me again how Bernie, Elisabeth (all talk no action)Warren or some dynasty Kennedy is going to save the day when the masters of the universe are all in cahoots. All the pols and their party's are part of the duopoly. Good luck electing any Demorat from dog catcher to President for office who is not totally bent and yet says they are 'progressive' or 'socially liberal'. Fuck them all and the dead horse of a party they keep riding in on. Then I hear Oh my god who else can save us? It's just not possible because? How about facing the fact that were so screwed globally and need to all stop believing their shit.
How about that Corbyn? They hate him as much as they did Bernie. Will the divide and conquer with screaming fear and some good old fashioned vote rigging work once again? I hope what ever the outcome of the UK's 'election' is that he does not prove to be like Bernie.
I've stayed away from slamming Bernie
Most of the criticism of Bernie is either bullsh*t or nitpicking.
But this is different. This is outright flip-flopping on the most important issue today.
And the Dems are no better.
@shaharazade Term progressive is dead.
And the resistance? Please. Some have called it the McResistance (kind of like that phrase). But when people like Clinton are part of the "Resistance". Please. She isn't the resistance, she is what should be resisted. The Democrats are trying to co-opt and literally sell this idea of resistance. This is boardroom PR, a corporate-hatched plan.
Join the Resistance, buy this $15.95 T-shirt sponsored by the DNC and donate to our corporate candidates now!
Wow! All the authenticity of that 1966–7 Chrysler ad campaign,
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22dodge+rebellion%22+ad+campaign&t=ffsb&ia=web
At this point, I really am speechless and can only babble.
You got it:
I had all those thought running through my head when I heard about the vote. The democrats were singing like pissed little children? Pelosi wasn't personally kicking some republican in the fucking nuts? And now all this stuff from Bernie?
Both parties are now fighting against adequate care for the American people. This issue will not go away no matter how many time the democrats yell out "but Russia".
I can relate.
@detroitmechworks re this:
Yup. I'm the same way. Years ago when I went to theme parks I needed a walker to get around because I can't be on my feet for more than hour without a lot of back pain the moment I go to sit down. Hemiplegia sucks.
I also don't own a car nor do I have a license so that puts me out of the running with regards to most tech jobs, even entry level ones because most places require drivers' licenses.
Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
Wow, they do?
Is the license for ID? if so, can't you get a state ID? Although at O'Hare airport they told me I needed to show a driver's license or a passport, no other ID would do. I was trying to us my Federal photo ID. It worked in Oklahoma City ("Oh my! Yes, of course.")
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
The Dems condemn
wanting things like decent healthcare or economic justice as just "purity" now. We shouldn't actually want anything, according to them, except to defeat Team Red.
The DNC actually said in court that we aren't entitled to free and fair elections. That pretty much says it all.
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
And I still don't get
I don't think the time has been more ripe for a 3rd party.
dfarrah
It gets dismissed
I think we need less of a party, and more of a movement, something on the order of Solidarity in Poland.
