“Cinco de Mayo has come to represent a celebration of the contributions that Mexican Americans and all Hispanics have made to America.”
~ Joe Baca ~
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Let's celebrate with Sweetie's Jazzfest favorite.
I rolled into NOLA, Wednesday afternoon, with the expectation of seeing The Iguanas Thursday afternoon. I just know I will shed a tear during our song.
It sure would have been nice to celebrate Cinco de Mayo together.
Just one buddy in town for Thursday. The remainder of the krewe is due in today.
Let the good times roll.
I hope missing Sweetie does not overwhelm me.
I might have to stay up all night to miss the worst times.
This one goes out to you, Sue.
Have a great weekend! The thread is OPEN.

Continually reinforcing
the notion that LOTE voting is destiny does not help the left, IMO. Moreover, it's not even accurate anymore or Trump would not be in the White House today.
In November 2016, many registered Democrats stayed home. Some showed up at the polls and left the top of the ticket blank. Some on the left showed up and voted Green. Some on the left, especially in purple states, showed up and voted for Trump. I venture to say that every one on the left who did not vote for Hillary understood the import of not voting for Hillary.
Some on the left (and the right, too) would have voted for the Beelzebub-Cthulhu ticket before they voted for Hillary or anyone like her--and will do the same next time. I know I will never vote for another bought and paid for war monger. I don't care if I have to write in my own name from now until doomsday. I'm not voting for evil again. Ever.
(This post critiques Rall's cartoon. It is not a critique on lotilizard for posting it, which is never a bad thing.)

Good morning, Tim~~
So happy to hear you've made it to the big show!
If you become overwhelmed, keep walking with it until you walk through it.
You will come out the other side with the love and support of your friends there and all of us.
We will carry you when you think you cannot take another step.
Remember to have the time of your life.
Sweetie is right next to you, egging you on, and so are we.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, folks!

It's good
It is really good to be among such a diverse collection of people. It was cold and rainy Thursday, so we skipped the Fairgrounds. I went out for soul/ comfort food. Red beans and rice, with chicken wings. Went out to see Jon Cleary last evening.

Cafe du Monde? Been yet for beignets and chickory coffee?
I recall flying into NOLA and being shocked by people walking around inside the airport with gimme cups of alcohol. Plastic, bot a glass hazard.
Go to the zoo, walk through the parks, if you want. And Sue will be whispering in your ear from earlier times. Oh, and have fun!
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Pastry and coffee. Gorgeous morning, after rainy day.

You got there,
and in one piece. You love riding that bike so much, it got you over an anxiety.
You have wonderful memories of Sue. You got to marry the love of your life. Some never even find the love of their lives, let alone get to marry him or her and have two kids.
You just re-connected with one of your buds.
The rest will be there soon.
The music will be good.
We're all in your corner.
Whatever you feel or don't feel about all that is perfect and fine.
There is a young lady
@ the guesthouse who rode a Triumph from San Francisco. Also some of the same people as years gone by and a couple of rooms of people from Calgary. Our Kreme stands at three with another half dozen due in a couple hours.

So far, so good
I usually do not imbibe during the day time. Today will be an exception. I will be with a handful of multi-decade friends, who are accomplished partners. Today is not a day for the meek or weak. My daughter's boyfriend talked about making the trip. I have my doubts that he is ready to run with thr big dogs. I started a pool for what time the guy who is a butcher crashes.. I have 9:45 CDT. Off to the French Market for a bunch of bananas.

have a great jazzfest!
Bet there will be little sleep, and when you do dream music. My buddies are there too. I'm pretty sure a good time will be had by all!
Safe travels and have fun....

Gorgeous Alabama day Tuesday. Wow, Atlanta sucks bad with the 85 bridge out. I am thinking of going home via Knoxville/Asheville. It is demoralizing when the buskers play better than I do.

Living vicariously through you, brother.
Trip sounds great, nice weather and cruising in the sun, all the senses pumping finely in unison. Fill us in on JazzFest and Nawlins imbibing, when you can. I'm listening to King Oliver with my son this morning (just taught him how to put a record on the spindle of a little player in his room).
Music and motorcycle. Had been my life up to very recently, but now the latter is collecting cobwebs owing to a few problems I don't have the energy with which to tackle.
Keep riding, friend, but also vow to pick up the guitar more. Heh...

Trombone players
Enjoy King Oliver. I saw at least a half dozen brass bands around town yesterday. Big motorcycle gabfest yesterday evening.

All sounds great. When I'm there I'm drawn to the funky tuba
players.
Those brass bands are incredible, so intoxicating.
Have some raw oysters and a good crawfish boil for us!
And how 'bout that lady who came from San Fran on a Triumph? Ooo-wee. That's some righteous scene goin' on 'round you.

Bon matin, mon ami!
Wow, you are enjoying JazzFest. Is that cool, or what??
I got a bittersweet vibe off your writing today. This tune expresses that feeling well.

Biker hubby has booked our PNW ride. We fly into Portland, OR 6/1 and return 6/9. Will be riding into WA State, and then over the border to the Canadian Rockies. I'm psyched as I've never seen this part of the country. Age is beginning to play into our decisions. We can still enjoy rides like this so doing them while we can. Be careful and stay safe, my soul fine pal! Rec'd!!

Hi Tim.
Wishing you warmth in the embrace of good friends and music. And may you enjoy the memories of the love you shared, and create some new ones to enjoy.
